Fig. 1 zeigt eine erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung 1 zum Öffnen und Entleeren von
Kartons 2 für (nicht dargestellte) Filterstäbe. Die Vorrichtung 1 weist ein Gestell 4

läßt sich dann der Deckel 32 des Kartons 2 um 180° in die in der Fig. 5a gestrichelt

abstehenden Laschen unterhalb der Ebene des mit 40 bezeichneten geöffneten
Deckels 32 zu drücken ist ein Hebel 54 vorgesehen. Der Hebel 54 weist einen Stift
56 auf, der als Widerhaken für den gemäß Linie 52 die nach oben stehende Lasche
48 dient. Dieser Hebel 54 ist um eine Achse 58 schwenkbar an einer Platte 60
befestigt. Mit Hilfe des Hebels 54 lassen sich die Laschen 48 gemäß den in der Fig.
5b gestrichelt dargestellten Linien 62 passiv verschwenken. D.h. der Hebel 54 wirkt
nur passiv auf die Laschen 48.The

einen Schwenkrahmen 64 angehoben, wo er von Winkelhaltern 66 gehalten wird.

- A method of automatically opening and emptying closed boxes (2) for rod-shaped articles in the tobacco-processing industry, in particular for boxes (2) in which the opening portion is a lid (32) connected pivotably at one side to the respective box (2), comprising the following steps:a closed box (2) is moved into a receiving means (22) of an elevator device (14) for the box (2),the closed box (2) is automatically opened,the opened box (2) is lifted by the elevator device (14),the opened box (2) is transferred from the elevator device (14) to a pivotal frame (64), andthe opened box (2) is pivoted approximately through 180° for emptying thereof in the pivotal frame (64).
- A method according to claim 1 comprising the following step:before being moved into the elevator device (14) the closed box (2) is separated to constitute an individual item from a row of closed boxes (2).
- A method according to one of the preceding claims wherein the box (2) has a lid (32) which is provided with side flap portions (48), which flap portions (48) fit into the side walls (50) of the box (2) when the box (2) is closed,
comprising the following steps:the closed box (2) is opened by automatic opening of the lid (32), andthe side flap portions (48) which are pulled out of the side walls (50) of the box upon opening of the lid (32) are automatically pivoted through about 180°. - A method according to one of the preceding claims comprising the following further steps:the emptied box (2) is pivoted back through about 180° in the pivotal frame (64), andthe emptied box (2) is removed from the pivotal frame (64) in the upright position and conveyed away.
- Apparatus for automatically opening closed boxes (2) provided with an opening portion (32), for rod-shaped articles in the tobacco-processing industry, for boxes (2) in which the opening portion is a lid (32) connected pivotably at one side to the respective box (2), comprising a suction device (34) associated with a conveyor path of the boxes (2), for sucking and opening the opening portion (32) of the boxes (2), wherein the suction device (34) is pivotable from a first position of engaging the lid (32) in its closed position through about 180° together with the engaged lid (32) into a second position of holding the lid (32) open, in order to be able to open the lid (32).
- Apparatus according to claim 5 wherein a retaining device which is preferably in the form of a spring plate (44, 46) is arranged in the region of the suction device (34) in such a way that in the second position the lid (32) can snap into same in order to hold the lid (32) in the second position.
- Apparatus according to claim 5 or claim 6 for boxes (2) in which the lid (32) is provided with side flap portions (48), which flap portions (48) in the closed position of the lid (32) fit into side walls (50) of the box (2), wherein there is provided at least one pivotal lever (54) which, when the lid (32) is opened, can be brought into contact with at least one of the side flap portions (48) in order to pivot the at least one side flap portion (48) in a direction away from the box (2).
- Apparatus for emptying opened boxes (2) for rod-shaped articles in the tobacco-processing industry, comprising
a receiving means (22) for at least one box (2), the receiving means being associated with an elevator device for lifting the boxes (2), and
a pivotal frame (64) for emptying the boxes (2), which pivotal frame can be reached for the boxes (2) by means of the elevator device (14),
characterised by an apparatus according to one of claims 5 to 7. - Apparatus according to claim 8 wherein the suction device (34) is arranged in the region of the receiving means (22) so that a box (2) disposed in the receiving means can be opened.
- Apparatus according to claim 9 wherein the elevator device (14) has lateral guides (90) arranged along the lifting path of movement of the elevator device (14), for the at least one box (2) disposed in the receiving means of the elevator device (14), which guides (90) are so arranged in respect of their spacing relative to the respective box (2) that they urge the at least one side flap portion (48) which is pivoted by the pivotal lever (54) towards the box (2) during the lifting of the box (2) by means of the elevator device (14), in such a way that the side flap portion (48) maintains at least its degree of pivotal movement which was caused by the pivotal lever (54).
- Apparatus according to one of claims 8 to 10 comprising a feed conveyor (10) for feeding the closed boxes (2) to the receiving means (22), wherein provided at the feed conveyor (10) is at least one laterally arranged second suction device (24) and a sensor for detecting boxes (2), which second suction device (24), when a box (2) is detected by the sensor, can temporarily suctionally engage the subsequent box (2).
- Apparatus according to one of claims 8 to 11 and comprising a removal conveyor (76) for conveying the emptied boxes (2) away along a removal conveyor path, wherein provided at the removal conveyor (76) is at least one friction element, in particular a brush element (82), arranged laterally along the removal conveyor path (78), in order to move the emptied boxes (2) in an upright position on the removal conveyor path (78).
