Definitions

  • the present invention relates to luggage comprising a retractable handle rigid and able to be towed on wheels.
  • the invention relates more particularly to a backpack.
  • the rolling system originally intended to be mounted on a suitcase, is heavy, bulky and disproportionate.
  • the backpack is mounted in the place provided for the suitcase.
  • the casters are exterior and located at the base of said rear face and so, when the luggage is used as a backpack, so dirty the clothes on the back of the user since these casters were in contact with the sidewalk and detritus, and possibly even with dogs.
  • the presence of a flap able to envelop the casters is only a second-best the use of the casters, the flap face possibly soiled is exposed and may be in contact with the user.
  • US 5,676,286 discloses a backpack equipped with wheels on a plate secured to the face bottom of the bag. The rollers are opposite the side in contact with the back.
  • GB Patent 2,300,117 describes a structure adjustable to be received in various travel bags. There is described a top plate for supporting the material flexible baggage attached to luggage from the outside.
  • the present invention aims at remedying the disadvantages mentioned above and to improve the comfort qualities of use and lightness.
  • the backpack is no longer adapted to a rolling system, the latter being contrary to the shape and use of the back.
  • the invention proposes a bag for back as defined in appended claim 1.
  • This backpack has walls of flexible material, for example fabric, having a retractable handle by sliding of its handle, and a curved bottom interior plate, the curvature of this semi-rigid plate being imposed by securing this plate, eg by riveting, to a curved profile segment extending from the base of the telescopic housing, interior to the luggage, the sliding handle.
  • the semi-rigid plate can be a plastic plate, for example polyethylene with a thickness ranging from 1 to 5 mm.
  • the walls of the luggage made of flexible material will be preferably provided to form a form luggage approximately parallelepiped rectangle.
  • a handle with a stem you can also provide a telescopic U-shaped handle with two sliding rods in two parallel housing. Each housing is secured to the lower curved plate and to the top plate as for single luggage rod.
  • the bottom plate may be a plate molded more rigid, for example ABS or polypropylene, whose curvature is originally formed.
  • telescopic housing base does not necessarily have to to be curved and / or flattened and can be straight if one provides for a solid and rigid fastening means on the raised part of the bottom plate (eg flange).
  • the curvature is also obtained, in particular at the level of its parts lateral, by two elements in support arches of axis side wheels projecting out of the game curved of said plate.
  • the telescopic handle system is provided adjacent and inside on the opposite side to the one intended for to be in contact with the back, ie to that provided of straps for use as a backpack. Comfort this is greatly improved.
  • the edge of the lower plate opposite to the base of the telescopic housing presents a profile horizontal curved concave.
  • This profile in contact with the back, further marries the transverse profile of the back and thus increases the comfort of the user and / or avoids a premature wear of a protective cushion provided on the face in contact with the back.
  • the handle of the retractable handle can be constituted hollow tube of square, rectangular or polygonal, for example aluminum, but can also U-shaped handle, in which case the section may to be round.
  • the handle will however advantageously, especially for small luggage, made up of a single or double sliding telescopic tube known manner in a rigid housing provided for this purpose.
  • a support plate of the flexible material e.g. tissue
  • the flexible material e.g. tissue
  • This plate is held by a fastening means, p.e. clamping nut provided for this purpose on the housing.
  • the dimension of this plate may vary, in such a way that, according to a preferred embodiment, only one part of the flexible material, surrounding the end upper housing can be retained. In particular, this support plate will not extend from preferably not on the entire depth of the bag.
  • the upper face can then include a plate independent auxiliary, serving only for a better fixing a conventional type handle.
  • a plate independent auxiliary serving only for a better fixing a conventional type handle.
  • additional handles can be planned stitched and / or riveted on one or more faces.
  • the vertical stiffness of the backpack made of soft material is essentially ensured by the rolling system, the curved plate and telescopic system.
  • the invention therefore proposes luggage whose rigid structure is essentially L-shaped, or angle-shaped, in the measure or the upper cross plate is from relatively small area, which favors stackability since the side faces and, in part, the upper side can be folded towards inside.
  • the means for opening the bag backpack described above will be a zipper opening extending from the upper face, on the lateral faces, on both sides, so that once the bag open, the part of the flexible material supported by the upper plate is separated from the part of the material flexible unsupported.
  • one of the faces comprises along three sides of its perimeter a zipper allowing the folding of this face.
  • the flip-up face or portion may include a or several pockets and / or one or more compartments Auxiliary.
  • an inverted U-shaped metal ring traversing the upper edge and the two lateral edges of the face adjacent to the telescopic system.
  • This ring is advantageously integrated in a flexible piping whose ends protrude from the branches of the U and are curved to thus form the two lower lateral edges.
  • interior walls of luggage compartments according to the invention may be advantageously doubled with a cloth lining, hiding the bottom plate and the telescopic housing.
  • Fig. 1 schematically represents in perspective a partially exploded view of the rigid structure of a bag backpack according to the invention.
  • a stem or a sleeve 1 and a metal housing 10 in which slides the tube or sleeve 1 doubly telescopic section square or rectangular, preferably aluminum.
  • the lower part 11 of the housing extends in the form a curved segment to which is secured by riveting a semi-rigid bottom plate 2 for example in polyethylene.
  • This curved part extending the housing telescopic can be advantageously flattened, and can result in fact from the flattening of one end of a hollow profile with square or rectangular section.
  • the bottom plate 2 includes two openings 8 for accommodate casters provided on elements in hoops 5, to be secured from the outside by riveting to the plate 2. These arches thus contribute to the curvature homogeneous over its entire width. We also illustrate feet 6 on the opposite side to the rollers.
  • the profile of the slice 12 of the plate can also be curved to better fit the profile of the back, when the suitcase is used as a backpack.
  • the slice being additionally covered with a protective sleeve 14 split longitudinally.
  • a support plate 3 of the same nature as the plate of bottom is provided at the top of housing 10, firmly held by a fastening means, for example a clamping nut 4.
  • a fastening means for example a clamping nut 4.
  • this plate of support will not extend over the full thickness of the suitcase to avoid contact with the upper from the back or with the user's neck.
  • a vertical reinforcement 15 also in the form a plate, secured to the support plate upper 3 by fixing to an intermediate square 9.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the backpack as seen from side of the wall adjacent to the retractable handle.
  • the Telescopic mechanism is internal to the backpack.
  • a front compartment 21 and the zipper 23 opening which extends on two lateral faces and the upper side and allows by folding the rear wall to have access to the main compartment 24.
  • the flexible material is doubled with a second material 25 preferably plastic, for example in grained PVC, making the base of the lateral faces 26 less flexible, reducing wear, and allowing advantageously easier cleaning.
  • the hoops roulettes 28 are located at the lower corners of the face having the telescopic system and having a rim curved 29 of piping protection 22, marrying the edge curved bottom plate.
  • the support plate interior not shown extends to the zipper 23 and also serves as a support for the classic handle 30.
  • Figure 3 is a representation of a backpack similar to that of Figure 2 seen from the opposite side to the wall adjacent to the retractable handle.
  • Stras 31 which can be partially detached to the level of the attachment loops 32 and introduced into a pocket 33 provided for this purpose.
  • a cushion 34 is planned to further protect the lower part from the back of the user.
  • the handle 30 is fixed on the foldable part with the opposite side to the adjacent one the telescopic system, the flexible material adjacent to this handle being internally reinforced by a small plate not illustrated.
  • FIG. 4 shows a variant of the backpack as shown in Figures 2 and 3, more suitable for a large luggage.
  • the telescopic handle 7 includes two double telescopic rods 1.1. In addition, this handle 7 can retract up to inside the bag and be covered by a flap 40 with zipper.
  • a piping 22 which comprises a metal element 50 forming a stiffening ring, illustrated in FIG. 5a, inverted U traversing three edges of the face adjacent to the telescopic system.
  • This ring 50 is advantageously integrated in a flexible piping (22) whose ends protrude from the branches of the U and are curved inside the hoop 5, protected by the rim 29 for thus form the two lower lateral edges.
  • Figure 5b is a enlargement of the perspective profile of the piping 22 in which the element 50 is inserted in the assembly.
