Wird in dem Schritt 104 festgestellt, daß der aktuelle Kilometerstand dem gespeicherten Kilometerstand entspricht, insbesondere, daß der aktuelle Kilometerstand größer oder gleich dem gespeicherten Kilometerstand ist, kann davon ausgegangen werden, daß keine Manipulation des Wegstreckenzählers durchgeführt wurde, da derartige Manipulationen typischerweise zur Vortäuschung eines geringeren Kilometerstandes verwendet werden. In einem Schritt 105 erfolgt in diesem Fall eine Speicherung des aktuellen Kilometerstandes.
