Abstract

The invention concerns an advertising display for static or moving advertising billboards comprising poster strips (A) each glued on a semirigid plastic foil with shape memory (F) having flaps co-operating with a bar (L) which is capable of being elastically deformed and which has been previously fitted on the advertising billboard support (P) for maintaining said poster strip (A).

Description

The present invention relates to the production of an advertising poster consisting of poster strips which are intended to be placed on static or rotating prism billboards and its device display for the installation of said poster strips.

The advertising panels receiving this kind of poster, include a plurality rotating prisms arranged side by side and rotating a fraction of a turn around their longitudinal axis via a drive device described, for example, in European patent No. 0539308 belonging to the applicant.

The rotating prisms receive a poster strip on each of their faces constituting respectively a separate poster which is presented at the rotation of the prisms.

Billboards of this kind generally have prisms with triangular base which allow three posters to be presented successively.

To date, the display of advertising panels with rotating prisms has been carried out. according to four different procedures.

The first display process requires that the faces of the aluminum prisms are removable. The faces of each prism are disassembled and taken away in a workshop to be able to replace the poster strips.

After cleaning the faces, they are mounted on a template to allow the adhesive display of a new poster, following the techniques common static advertising signs.

Then, after the various drying operations, it is necessary to cutting strips, dismantling the faces of the template, transporting said faces and reassemble them on the advertising panel.

We see that all these stages are much too long and painful for meet the needs of the profession.

The other three processes are for the installation of poster strips on the site, that is, directly on the advertising panel.

The process described in invention patent EP 0644520 uses cases transparent plastics that are attached to each side of the rotating prism to constitute a protective envelope into which the strip is introduced poster.

This plastic case has certain drawbacks as regards, on the one hand the fact that it alters the advertising message due to the opacity or reflections of light, and on the other hand the fact that the poster strip slides inside the case this which makes it impossible to read the advertisement.

The process described in patent FR 2643487 uses an apparatus electro-portable which simultaneously removes the old poster strip and to paste the news.

This device requires special training for displays, and especially an adaptation of the billboards.

The last process is described in invention patent FR 2740597. It uses a manual installation tool for removing and placing poster strips on each side of the rotating prisms of an advertising panel.

Each side of the rotating prisms has a central groove which allows to snap and slide a plate which ensures the positioning of the poster strip at the inaccessible or furthest end of the prism.

In the last two methods described above, the poster strips receive on the side opposite to that carrying the advertising message, a double-sided adhesive allowing the fixing of the latter on the rotating prisms.

The use of a double-sided adhesive for fixing the poster strips has certain drawbacks as regards, on the one hand, the deterioration of the adhesive due to meteorological variations, and on the other hand the preliminary treatment surfaces of each prism.

In addition, it can be seen that the poster strip provided with its adhesive is permanently damaged when removed from the rotating prism, which prevents any reuse on another advertising panel.

We know from patent WO 92/11621 a display method of prisms rotatable by means of front elements or semi-rigid removable plates one side of which is printed with the advertisement.

The front elements are snapped into force on the rotating prisms by by means of ribs which cooperate with grooves made on the vertical edges of said prisms.

Note that the front element is made of a plastic material such as semi-rigid polyvinyl chloride requiring the use of printing inks to allow the printing of the advertising message.

The poster strip and its positioning device according to the invention aim to remedy the above drawbacks of the prior art.

The poster strip and its positioning device have the following advantages:

Advertising poster for static advertising panels or rotating prisms according to the invention comprises poster strips which are each stuck on a semi-rigid plastic memory film tape having flaps which extend in a direction opposite to that containing the printed side of the poster strip and which cooperate with an elastically deforming slat, said batten being previously snapped onto a support of the advertising panel for the retention of said poster strip.

Advertising poster for static advertising panels or rotating prisms according to the invention comprises a plastic film tape provided over its entire length of continuous flaps.

The description which follows with reference to the appended drawings, given by way of nonlimiting example, will allow a better understanding of the invention, the characteristics which it presents and the advantages which it is capable of providing:

Figure 1 is a cross section illustrating a triangular prism of an advertising panel whose three faces are equipped with a slat intended to receive a poster strip of the advertising poster according to the present invention.

Figure 2 is a cross section showing a slat deformed by the laying device for the establishment of the flaps of the plastic film integral with the poster strip forming the advertising poster according to the present invention.

Figure 3 is a longitudinal section showing the installation device for the establishment of poster strips on the advertising panel to produce the advertising poster according to the present invention.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show, by way of example, a rotary prism P of shape triangular which is associated with other prisms of the same shape to constitute an advertising panel which can present three different advertising posters.

The rotary prism P has on each of its faces a central groove R which is designed to receive the self-locking attachment means S of a batten L made of a flexible and elastic plastic material.

The middle groove R has, without limitation, a profile complementary to that of the attachment means S, to perfectly ensure the fixing the slat L on the corresponding face of the rotating prism P.

The attachment means S allow the latching of the slat L over the entire height of the corresponding face of the rotating prism P. In fact, the slat L is provided with a height substantially equivalent to that of the support or prism of the advertising panel.

It can also be provided that the slats L have a width which is dimension greater than that shown in Figures 1 and 2, to come snap onto the support of a static advertising panel with a single advertising poster.

The advertising poster is made up of poster strips A, one side of which is printed from a portion of the advertisement. Each poster strip A is glued over its entire height, on a semi-rigid plastic film strip with memory of form F.

The plastic film ribbon F has folded edges forming two flaps which are provided along the entire length of the poster strip A.

The flaps of the plastic film tape F extend in a direction which is opposite to that containing the printed side of poster strip A.

The plastic film ribbon F is, in a non-compulsory manner, produced in a plastic material with translucent shape memory.

Thus, each poster strip A integral with the plastic film ribbon F is fixed to the support of a static advertising panel or P rotating prisms to realize advertising poster.

FIG. 3 shows the installation device allowing, for example, the fixing the poster strips A secured to the plastic film tape F on the face of the rotary prism P onto which the slat L is previously snapped on.

The installation device comprises a main body on which are freely mounted in rotation in its lower part two shouldered rollers 6, and in its part upper, a support roller 7 which ensures the inclination of the laying device when this is placed on the face of the rotating prism P.

The main body is secured, between the rollers 6 and 7, of two shoes symmetrical 3 which are engaged under the edges of the slat L, in order to lift them.

The main body has in its upper part and above the roller 7 a rubberized roller 9 and pressure rollers 5 allowing the engagement of the poster strip A secured to the plastic film ribbon F.

The main body of the laying device comprises near the roller 9, and the next to the roller 7, a guide plate 4 which ends at the level of the shoes 3.

Finally, the installation device can be moved over the entire height of the panel advertising, either manually by means of a pole 1 which is articulated around an axis 2 mounted between the rollers 6 and 7, either motorized by means of a carriage, not shown, which engages the ball joint 8 arranged above rubberized roller 9.

The installation and retention of the poster strip A secured to the film ribbon F on the rotating prism of a moving advertising panel, or on the support of a static advertising panel by means of the installation device, is understandable easily from the description above.

The positioning device is placed, for example, in the lower part of a prism rotary P so that, on the one hand the rollers 6 and 7 are in abutment against the flexible batten L, and other by the shoes 3 are engaged under the edges of the flexible batten L to deform the latter between the rollers 6 and 7.

A poster strip A secured to the film ribbon F is inserted between the roll rubberized 9 and the pressure rollers 5, until it is aligned with the end lower of the slat L located in the lower part of the prism P.

When placing the poster strip A secured to the film ribbon F on the fitting device, it can be seen that the guide plate 4 makes it possible to open the flaps of plastic film tape F above the edges of the batten L which are raised by hooves 3.

The flaps of the plastic film tape F close under the edges of the batten L at the interruption of the guide plate 4 which is located near the hooves 3.

Note that the flaps close automatically under the edges of the slats L due to the shape memory characteristics of the film ribbon F.

The displacement of the positioning device over the entire height of the rotary prism P allows the installation and retention of the poster strip A secured to the ribbon of film F on this last one. Note that the slat L lowers after the passage of the laying device for pinching and blocking the flaps of the film ribbon F between said film latte and the face of the prism.

• and joints (2) and (8) for coupling the movement means of the laying device along the batten (L).

These steps must be repeated for each strip of poster A attached to the ribbon of film F constituting the advertising poster.

It should also be understood that the foregoing description has been given only by way of example, and that it in no way limits the field of the invention which is not not come out replacing the execution details described everywhere else equivalent.

Claims (5)

1. Advertising display for static or rotary-prism advertising panels, the said display comprising strips of adverts (A) on a ribbon of semi-rigid shape-memory plastic film (F) having flaps which extend in an opposite direction to the one containing the printed side of the strip of advert (A), characterized in that the said strips of adverts are bonded onto the said ribbon, and in that the said flaps collaborate with an elastically deformable lath (L), the said lath (L) being clip-fastened beforehand onto a support (P) of the advertising panel so as to retain the said strip of advert.
2. Advertising display for static or rotary-prism advertising panels according to Claim 1, characterized in that the ribbon of plastic film (F) comprises continuous flaps along its entire length.
3. Fitting device for fitting and holding the advertising display according to Claim 1, characterized in that it comprises:

   two symmetric shoes (3) which lift up the edges of a plastic lath (L),

   a rubberized roll (9) and press rollers (5) allowing engagement of the strip of advert (A) secured to the ribbon of plastic film (F),

   a guide plate (4) which opens up the two flaps of the ribbon of plastic film (F) then releases them at the shoes (3),

   two stepped rollers (6) which press and re-centre the strip of advert (A) on a plastic lath (L),

   a pressing roller (7) which ensures correct inclination of the shoes (3) under the lath (L),

   and ball joints (2,8) for coupling means of movement of the fitting device along the lath (L).

Fitting device for fitting and holding the advertising display according to Claim 3, characterized in that the movement means consist of a pole (1), the end of which is articulated about an axle (2) placed between the stepped rollers (6) and pressing roller (7), to allow the fitting device to be moved by hand.
5. Fitting device for fitting and holding the advertising display according to Claim 3, characterized in that the movement means consist of an electrically driven carriage coupled to a ball joint (8) arranged above the rubberized roll (9).
