Abstract

Claims (10)

  1. Road crash barrier of the type comprising at least one horizontal wooden rail (3) composed of billets (13) assembled end to end and connected together by metallic fishplates (1) and fixing bolts (6) passing through them (13) through holes (2), and posts (4) which support the said rail at the rear thereof with respect to the road traffic side R, characterised in that:
    the so-called main metallic fishplates (1) consist of a profile with a C-shaped cross-section and form a continuous support connecting the said billets (13) on the same side as the posts (4);
    the said C-shaped metallic profile has its opening (20) oriented towards the said posts (4) and is able to receive T-shaped brackets (7) for fixing these at all points on the fishplates (1), independently of the joins between these and the billets (13);
    the said brackets (7) being deformable when there is an impact against the said barrier above a given value, so that the latter disconnects from the posts (4).
  2. Crash barrier according to Claim 1, characterised in that the said metallic fishplates (1) are embedded in a continuous horizontal groove (19) produced in the said billets (13) and comprising holes (11), at least at its ends and on each side of each junction (18) of a billet (13), in which fixing bolts (6) are put in place.
  3. Crash barrier according to either one of Claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the main metallic fishplates (1) are connected together by joining fishplates (5) comprising holes (12) cooperating with at least two of the holes (111) in the ends of the main metallic fishplates and pins (15) cooperating with other holes (112) in these main fishplates (1).
  4. Crash barrier according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the billets (13) comprise housings (9) produced on the same side as the road traffic R and able to receive at least the heads of the fixing bolts (6) with the fishplates (1), and reflective elements fixed in some of these housings (9).
  5. Crash barrier according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that it comprises accessories fixed in the opening (20) in the main fishplates (1).
  6. Crash barrier according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the flanges (1) on the C-shaped profile of the ends of the main fishplates (1) are curved towards the inside of the C and form a guide whose width is compatible with that of the joining fishplates (5).
  7. Crash barrier according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the brackets (7) for fixing the posts (4) to the horizontal rail (3) each consist of a connecting rod (8) passing through one of the said posts (4) and locked thereon by at least one nut screwed at the distal end (81) of this rod, and a plate (17) which is screwed inside the metallic profile of the main fishplates (1) and the flanges of which come into abutment against those (11) on these main fishplates (1).
  8. Crash barrier according to Claim 7, characterised in that the flanges on the said rectangular-shaped plate (17) each comprise a bevelled comer (171) able to allow the rotation of the plate in the metallic profile and another comer (172) whose dimensions prevent the said rotation.

Device for installing a road crash barrier according to any one of Claims 1 to 8 and comprising support posts (4) composed of at least one vertical metallic profile (41) with a C-shaped cross-section, characterised in that it comprises at least one guide plate with dimensions able to be slid into the said vertical profile (41), and connected on the one hand to at least one flange (25) coming into abutment on the top part of the post (4) and on the other hand to a horizontal connecting arm (23) placed outside the said profile (41), and two lateral arms (22) able to form a horizontal U-shaped structure with the connecting arms (23) on which they are articulated (26), the said lateral arms being positioned at the corresponding height of the wooden rail (3) of the barrier which is placed there in order to be fixed to the said post (4).
  10. Device for installing a road crash barrier according to Claim 9, characterised in that the said horizontal lateral arms (22) comprise rollers (24) at their top part.
