Definitions
- the invention relates to armor-piercing ammunition with a projectile-forming warhead with an explosive charge to combat armored vehicles, in particular ammunition, which is fired by individuals from recoilless weapons.
- Each of the above types of ammunition has its particular advantages and disadvantages: from above attacking ammunition fights the armored vehicle at its most vulnerable side, but must have suitable sensors to detect the target from above. For targets that are hidden at the top, such as vehicles under dense trees, such types of ammunition are usually ineffective, for example, they do not recognize the target, ie not "find".
- the armored vehicle may be left in its most heavily armored position, e.g. on the front, fights what requires large warheads. In moving, especially at fast moving targets, it can also be difficult to hit the target if the ammunition is not equipped with additional sensors.
- the invention has for its object to provide an ammunition of the type mentioned in the preamble, which combines the advantages of above and directly attacking ammunition in a single type of ammunition.
- this ammunition contains a warhead, which either selectively remains firmly connected to the ammunition and thus acts in direct fire against the target or is separated above the target of the ammunition and detects the target by means of sensors and fought from above.
- the respective type of control is selected by the shooter before the ammunition is fired.
- the warhead can optionally be brought into action independently of both a distance sensor and a target sensor as well as an impact sensor.
- the explosive charge when acting against a target in direct fire, is triggered by a proximity sensor which determines the optimum distance between the target and the warhead.
- the target sensor spirally scans the ground and triggers the explosive charge upon detection of a target.
- the explosive charge is triggered by an impact sensor in the fight against light or non-armored targets or buildings and the like.
- the ammunition is used as a projectile for anti-tank shoulder weapons (Panzerfäuste).
- Figure 1 shows a shoulder weapon for anti-tank fighting with a launch tube 1 and attached thereto firing device 2 and shoulder support 3.
- a powder propellant charge 4 which can be ignited by the firing device 2, a counterweight 5 and the shaft 6 of a projectile 7.
- the shaft 6 consists of a rocket motor 8 and a tail 9, whose individual fins are folded onto the shaft 6.
- the projectile Upon ignition and combustion of the powder propellant charge 4, the projectile is ejected to the left (on FIG. 1 to the left) and the counterweight 5 to the rear (on the right in FIG. 1). Since the starting pipe 1 is cylindrical and smooth inside, no recoil forces, or only very slight ones, which can be caused by friction in the pipe, are produced by the abovementioned starting principle.
- FIG. 2 shows the projectile 7 from FIG. 1 in detail.
- the shaft 6 has inside a bore 10 with nozzle 11.
- the fins 12, 12 'of the tail 9 are opened to the rear.
- the rocket motor 8 has inside a rocket propellant 13, which is fixed by a potting compound 14 in the rocket motor 8.
- the warhead 15 consists of a shell 16 with bottom 17 in which an explosive charge 18 with in front befind Anlagen insert 19, e.g. made of copper or tantalum.
- the warhead 15 is closed at the front by a hood 20 in which an optical distance sensor 21, 21 'is located.
- a hood 20 in which an optical distance sensor 21, 21 'is located.
- backup / ignition device 23 In the rear part 22 of the warhead 15 is a running in a known manner backup / ignition device 23, which communicates with the explosive charge 18 by a transfer charge 24.
- a slider 25 and an electronics 26, in which a force element 27 is installed, which prevents the spring 28 can move the slider 25.
- the slider 25 is connected to the electronics 26 through an electrical cable 29.
- the warhead 15 is closed at the rear part 22 by a bottom 30 which is firmly connected to the shell 16 (eg glued, pinned or soldered).
- the conical front part 31 of the rocket motor 8 is connected to the bottom 30 by pins 32, 32 '.
- the conical front part 31 is a fixed to the floor 30 parachute 33 under the hood 34, which is connected by a wire cable 35 with the conical front part 31.
- the conical front part 31 contains a pyrotechnic ejection charge 36 and an electronic timer 37.
- an electrical connector 38 is attached outside on the conical front part 31, an electrical connector 38 is attached. Electrical lines 39, 39 ', 39 ", 39"' connect the distance sensor 21, 21 ', the electronics 26, the electronic timer 37 and the electrical connector 38 with each other.
- command electronics receive the necessary information about the selected combat mode.
- the distance sensor 21, 21 'of the projectile 7 measures the distance to the tank 40.
- the evaluation of the measurement signals takes place in the electronics 26, which trigger the warhead 15 at the correct distance from the tank 40 via the securing / igniting devices 23. This forms during detonation a so-called. "Projectile", which hits the tank 40 at high speed and this blows through.
- the target to be directly targeted is not a tank or similar. but for example, around a building, this can be communicated before the launch of the electronics 26. This then prevents a triggering of the explosive charge 18 by the distance sensor 21, 21 '. The explosive charge 18 is then initiated on impact on the target by an impact sensor contained in the fuse / ignition device 23, eg, impact switch, so that it then comes into effect better.
- this mode is communicated to the electronics 26 (see Fig. 2) and the time to fly over the target is entered into the electronic timer.
- This time may e.g. be calculated in the command electronics based on a distance measurement and based on the trajectory data of the projectile.
- the timer 37 triggers the separation charge 36. This causes a pressure build-up in the conical front part 31 until the pins 32, 32 'are sheared off. As a result, the warhead 15 is pushed backward. As soon as the wire rope 35 tightens, the hood 34 is pulled away from the parachute 33, so that it can unfold.
- Figure 5a shows the warhead 15 on the deployed parachute 33 suspended from the sling lines 41, 41 'above the target 42, e.g. a tank. Due to its eccentric suspension of the warhead 15 performs a wobbling motion, and since he falls to the ground at the same time on the parachute, the target sensor in the slider 25 scans the ground through openings 43, 43 'in the parachute 33 in the form of a spiral 44. As soon as the spiral 44 passes over the target 42, the explosive charge 18 is initiated by the electronics 26 via the fuse / ignition device 23 (FIG. 5b). By detonating a fast-flying projectile is again formed, which flies on the target 42 and this breaks through.
- the target sensor in the slider 25 scans the ground through openings 43, 43 'in the parachute 33 in the form of a spiral 44.
- the explosive charge 18 is initiated by the electronics 26 via the fuse / ignition device 23 (FIG. 5b). By detonating a fast-f
- the message is given via the connector 38 to the floor 7, whether attack from above is desired or not. If not, then this means direct fire. In this case, the command electronics will indicate as further message whether it is an armored target or not.
- the distance sensor 21, 21 ' is activated, which then causes the ignition of the explosive charge 18 via the electronics 26.
- the electronics 26 will not trigger the ignition as an explosive charge until the impact sensor incorporated in the fuse / igniter 23 has detected the impact on the target.
- this information receives both the electronics 26 and the timer 37 with indication of the corresponding flight time. After their expiry the separation charge 36 is ignited. A little late, e.g. 2 seconds later, the electronics 26 triggers the force element 27, so that the slider 25 is pushed to the outside and enters the target sensor located therein in function. This reports its received signals to the electronics 26, which then initiates the ignition of the explosive charge upon detection of a target.
