Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connector according to the preamble of claim 1 (see EP-A-0901194).
- Such a connector allows an electrical connection between complementary electrical contact elements, to the two connector parts are provided.
- About the locking ring can a Locking connection between the two connector parts are made.
- the locking ring is capable of this detent connection against unintentional Release lock. To the latched to the first connector part must be able to release the second connector part controlled, the locking ring against the bias of the locking position in the unlocked position to be moved, thereby the locking element of the detention release.
- the locking element When in the inventive connector for controlled release the second connector part of the first connector part of the locking ring is brought into the unlocked position, the locking element not only for releasing its locking connection with the second connector part passively released, but becomes active from the latching engagement with pushed back the second connector part in the release position or pulled and held there. In other words, the locking connection between locking element and second connector part already with the movement the locking ring actively released in its unlocked position.
- the invention Connector continues to a controlled and safe manufacturing the connection between the two connector parts.
- the invention allows the two connector parts connect with less force than with known electrical connector is the case.
- the second Connector parts on the first connector part can namely the locking ring be deliberately brought into the unlocked position to thereby a premature latching engagement of the locking ring with the second connector part to prevent.
- locking ring and “locking ring” not to be construed as meaning that the invention relates to an electrical Is limited connector whose components are round in cross-section have to.
- first connector part, the second connector part, the locking ring and the locking ring any, for example have a square or rectangular cross-section.
- a force control element for example in the form of a oblique edge or surface, provided during movement of the locking ring from the locking position to the unlocked position the Locking elements of the locking ring to release their respective locking connection caused with the second connector part.
- a force control element for example in the form of a oblique edge or surface, provided during movement of the locking ring from the locking position to the unlocked position the Locking elements of the locking ring to release their respective locking connection caused with the second connector part.
- the latching elements of the locking ring in each case one spring-loaded swiveling locking clip, latching arm and / or a spring-back having rotatable locking head.
- FIG. 1 has the electrical illustrated in the figures Connector serving as the first connector part basic housing 11, a locking ring 13, a locking ring 15 and one as the second Connector part serving socket 17, each sleeve-shaped surrounded from outside to inside and each made of plastic are.
- Connector serving as the first connector part basic housing 11, a locking ring 13, a locking ring 15 and one as the second Connector part serving socket 17, each sleeve-shaped surrounded from outside to inside and each made of plastic are.
- an insertion direction 19 is shown in Fig. 1, in the the following reference is made.
- the base housing 11 and the socket 17 each have a central Contact area 21 or 23, which is for receiving each other is provided complementarily formed contact elements.
- the plug-in sleeve 17 has on its outer circumference a latching web 25, the is chamfered at its pointing in the insertion direction 19 underside.
- the locking ring 15 has along its circumference three spring-back pivotable Locking clip 27, which in the relaxed state obliquely are inclined on the outside and the over the legs of a U-shape on the locking ring 15 are formed (see Fig. 4).
- a resiliently rotatable locking head 29 Along the base of the U-shape of the Locking clip 27 is formed in each case a resiliently rotatable locking head 29.
- the insertion direction 19 opposite top of the locking heads 29 is each chamfered.
- Each latch bracket 27 together with the molded-on locking head 29 a latching element of the locking ring 15th
- the locking ring 15 also has along its outer circumference three Einhaknasen 31, each at one on the inside of the base housing 11 formed catch stop 33 abut.
- the locking ring 13 has in the region of each locking head 29 of the locking ring 15 each an associated, formed by a hollow cylinder segment Locking section 35.
- Each locking portion 35 opposite to the insertion direction 19 adjacent the locking ring 15 has a release recess 37th on, located in the region of the respective associated locking head 29 of the locking ring 15 extends along the circumference of the locking ring 13.
- Ends of each release recess 37 each protrude a positive control rib 39 in the insertion direction 19 in the release recess 37 inside (see Fig. 5).
- the positive control ribs 39 have a respect the insertion direction 19 in the direction of the center of the locking ring 13 inclined forced-control end 41.
- the locking ring 13 also has on its in the insertion direction 19th pointing bottom 3 radially outward attachment hooks 43. These each protrude into one on the inner peripheral surface of the base housing 11 formed axial sliding groove 45 in the opposite direction of insertion 19 is limited by a fastening shoulder 47. Farther the locking ring 13 is radially on its inner peripheral surface inwardly offset insertion stops 48.
- a coil spring 49 is arranged, in the insertion direction 19 at the bottom of the base housing 11 and opposite to the insertion 19 abuts against the underside of the locking ring 13.
- FIG. 1 part of a mounting plate 51 is shown in FIG. 1, in which the base housing 11 is inserted.
- FIGS. 2 to 4 show the electrical connector according to FIG. 1 without Basic housing 11 and coil spring 49 and without mounting plate 51 in different positions of the locking ring 13, the locking ring 15th and the socket 17 relative to each other, as explained below becomes.
- Figs. 5 and 6 also show the electrical connector of Fig. 1 without base housing 11 and coil spring 49 in different relative positions.
- an electrical contact insert 53 shown within the contact portion 23 of the socket 17.
- the base housing 11 is opposite to the insertion direction 19 in an opening inserted within the mounting plate 51 and there fixed by means of a holding mechanism, not shown.
- the locking ring 13 in the insertion direction 19 in the Basic housing 11 is inserted until its attachment hooks 43 the respective Locking tab 47 of the base housing 11 engage behind.
- the coil spring 49 must in the insertion direction 19 are compressed, so that the inserted and hooked Locking ring 13 is biased and the locking position shown in Fig. 1 occupies.
- the socket 17 in Inserted 19 inserted into the base housing 11 until it is at the bottom of the basic housing 11 strikes.
- the Locking webs 25 of the socket 17 on the locking heads 29 of the locking ring 15 meet the Locking webs 25 of the socket 17 on the locking heads 29 of the locking ring 15, the in the locking position of the locking ring 13 shown in FIG with its radially outwardly directed back on the inner peripheral surface the respectively associated locking portion 35 of the locking ring 13 abut.
- the locking heads 29 give the pressure of the locking webs 25 and rotate in such a way that the socket 17 to the bottom the basic housing 11 can be moved. Due to a rebounding Rotate design of the locking heads 29 made of elastic plastic the locking heads 29 after passing the locking webs 25 back into their starting position.
- the plug-in sleeve 17 is thus as shown in FIGS. 1 and 5 with the basic housing 11 plugged.
- the socket 17 can no longer be unintentionally from the unit of the base housing 11, locking ring 15 and Loosen locking ring 13, as opposed to a movement of the plug sleeve 17 the insertion direction 19, the locking webs 25 abut the locking heads 29.
- the locking heads 29 can not oppose the above Turning described turn, since they already back to the Locking portions 35 of the locking ring 13 abut and thus against a reverse rotation are locked.
- the unlocking position of the locking ring shown in Fig. 3 is 13 reaches relative to the locking ring 15, in which the Freigabeaussparungen 37 of the locking ring 13 at the axial height of the locking heads 29 are located.
- the positive control ribs 39 for that the locking heads 29 with the locking clips 27 from their relaxed position 1 and 2 pressed radially outwardly in the release position are in which they are out of engagement with the second connector part 17.
- This active radial pressing out occurs in that the positive control ribs 39 with their forced control end faces 41 at the Base of the U-shape of the latching clip 27 abut (Figs. 2 and 6), and that at further axial movement of the positive control ribs 39 and the locking ring 13 in the insertion direction 19, the locking bracket 27 along the Forced control end faces 41 slide.
- the unlocking position shown in Fig. 3 is, the socket 17 of the unit of the base housing 11, locking ring 15 and locking ring 13 taken against the insertion direction 19 be as shown in Fig. 4.
- the locking webs 25 of the Plug 17, the locking heads 29 of the locking ring 15 without contact and thus pass unhindered, so that when pulling out the receptacle 17th no effort to overcome a locking connection between the Raststegen 25 and the locking heads 29 is required.
- Another advantage of the invention is that during insertion the plug-in sleeve 17 in the preassembled unit of the base housing 11, Locking ring 15 and locking ring 13 of the explained increased contact pressure for turning the locking heads 29 are not necessarily applied must, if at the same time pressed the locking ring 13 in the insertion direction 19 is and thus the locking bracket 27 actively moved radially outward become.
- the locking ring 15 is not necessarily - As shown in the figures - a separate from the base housing 11 component must be, but also be an integral part of the basic housing 11 can.
- a sealing ring be provided between the base housing 11 on the one hand and the Plug sleeve 17 and / or the locking ring 15 on the other hand.
