Description

The present invention relates to methods for joining a plurality of knitted parts on a flat knitting machine, wherein a first knit part is knitted on the first needles of a needle bed such that the connecting edge to at least one second knitted part after knitting on the needles depends, then at least a second knitted part on the second needles of the needle bed, spaced apart by one or more needles, are knitted such that after the knitting, the connecting edge to the first knit part hangs on the needles.

So far, there are different ways, three-dimensional knit, as z. b. used for seat covers to knit. The best option is to make upholstery and then sew the parts together. This method has the disadvantage that the parts must be sewn together after production, which is associated with additional costs.

Auch das Teil (37) wird in allen Maschenreihen mit identischer Breite und mit sämtlichen zur Verfügung stehenden Nadeln des jeweiligen Nadelbetts gestrickt.EP 0 361 855 A2 discloses a method for joining a plurality of knitted parts on a flat knitting machine, in particular the production of a knitted car seat cover with knitting loops for fastening the cover to a seat base. In the production of the knit part according to FIG. 3, during the knitting of part (5a), knitting is effected over the entire respective width of the part with all the needles of the needle bed. The same applies mutatis mutandis to the second knitted part (37), which has a smaller width than the first knitted part (5a) and also as the subsequent third knitted part (6a). Also the part (37) is knitted in all courses of identical width and with all available needles of the respective needle bed.

Die Flachstrickmaschine ist mit zwei Nadelbetten ausgestattet, die eine maschinelle Anordnung von zusätzlichen Schlaufen ermöglicht, die ein Aufriffeln verhindern sollen.EP 0 420 482 A1 discloses a method and a device for knitting a fabric on a flat knitting machine, in which the end region of the knitted fabric is already secured against tearing and, for example, sewing by hand can be dispensed with. The flat knitting machine is equipped with two needle beds, which allows a machine arrangement of additional loops that are to prevent fraying.

It is an object of the invention to provide a method which makes it possible to produce a three-dimensional knit fabric in the simplest possible way. This object is achieved by the method according to claim 1. Advantageous developments are the subject of the corresponding subclaims. It is a feature of the method that two knit parts are knitted separately on a flat knitting machine and joined together at one point, preferably at one edge.

The process according to the invention for producing a three-dimensional knit fabric can be referred to briefly as "knit on a gap" or "offset on a knit". In this case, the first knit part is knitted on first needles of a needle bed in such a way that after knitting the connecting edge to the second knit part depends on the needles. These first needles can z. B. the needles are 1,3,5,7 etc. of the needle bed. Now on second needles of the needle bed, z. B. on the needles 2,4,8,10 etc. the second knitted part knitted, so that at the end also hang the stitches on the needles, which form the connecting edge to the first knitted part. Now the stitches hanging on both needles can simply be knitted together, whereby the two knitted parts are connected to each other. This method can also combine several knitted parts. It can be adjusted depending on the number of knitted parts and depending on the desired density of the fabric use any needle pitches. For example, the first needle may be formed by each first, fourth, seventh, tenth, etc. needle while the second needles are formed by every second, fifth, eleventh, etc. needle. The third, sixth, ninth, twelfth needles may either not be activated at all or reserved for a third knit part. In this way it is possible to combine knitted parts whose edges are of different lengths. So z. B. the stitches of the first knit part on the needles 1,2,4,5,7,8,9,10 etc. hang, while the stitches of the second knit part on the needles 3,6,9,12, etc. hang. In this way, two stitches of the first knitted part are each connected to a stitch of the second knitted part, so that at the connecting edge, the first knit part twice as much stitches brings as the second knitted part. This is particularly advantageous in the production of three-dimensionally shaped from several knitted parts existing parts, such as. B. headrests. The density of the knit can be varied over the needle pitch. This method is particularly suitable for the production of three-dimensional knitted fabric on flat knitting machines with Twinnadelbestückung. The first needles are then given by the A-needles of the Twinnadel, while the second needles are formed by the B-needles of Twinnadeln. For multi-ply knits one needs a number of ply number corresponding number of needle beds. With this method, even four-ply knits can thus be produced in a technically feasible manner, if a four-needle bed machine is used. Likewise, tubular knitted parts can be produced when the first and last course of stitches of a knitted part are knitted on all needles, while the courses of stitches between them are knitted with only one set of needles, eg 1,3,5 etc. It is also possible to knit synchronously the knitted parts knitted on both needle groups.

The attached figure shows an example of a knit fabric which can be produced by the method of the present invention.

The figure shows a knitted example in which a first knitted part 30 in the form of a semicircular disk is to be connected to a second rectangular knitted part 32. The special feature of this example is that the edges 34 and 36 to be joined together have a different mesh size. The edge 34 of the semicircular disc 30 is substantially longer than the edge 36 of the rectangular second knit piece 32. Therefore, first the first knit piece 30 is knitted on every other needle or on every two of three needles, etc. in the knitting area of the needle bed until only the edge 34 hangs on the needles of the needle bed. Subsequently, the second knitted part 32 is knitted with each needle in the knitting area, so that the different mesh numbers in the connecting region of the edges 34 and 36 can be matched to each other. In the case of Twinnadelbestückung the first knit part 30 can be knitted only with the A or B needles of the Twinnadeln, while the second knitted part 32 would be knitted with all the needles. In this way, one-piece headrest covers can be produced very easily.

The above embodiments have been described with reference to a single-ply knitted fabric. Multi-ply knits can be made by the same technique if the flat knitting machine has the required number of needle beds / combs.

Where technically possible, e.g. When knitting fabric pieces on different needle beds or needle bed pairs, you will knit the different knit parts synchronously. If several knitted pieces are knitted on a needle bed (pair), it may be necessary to knit successively.
