Abstract

The bottle packaging box is made from a blank having a side wall in two identical parts (2,3) folded one on the other along a folding line (4) so as to be stored flat. The box is completed by two identical bottom elements (14,15) each having a bottom flap (16,17). The two bottom flaps are stuck together so as to form a bottom reinforcement and gripping element. The box is formed on reception of the bottle by pushing the two bottom elements into the side wall.

Description

The present invention relates to a packaging box intended to protect bottles during transport or handling and suitable for serving the presentation of product contained in bottles in places exhibition for sale.

Bottles containing quality drinks, such as fine wines and liqueurs, are often sold individually, each in a packaging, which first of all serves to protect the bottle during its transport and handling, but which also presents often an aesthetic character. Of course, the invention is not limited in this to wines and spirits, nor to drinks in general, and it finds application in well other fields, which use the same means in the same functions. It can also be implementation for packaging boxes receiving all kinds of bottles or other containers, whatever the physical or chemical nature of the container.

Conventionally, rigid tubes are used, made of cardboard or similar material, which may have parts for example of metal. These packages are made for provide good protection for the bottle but their storage in places of production requires volume important and considerably strike costs.

We also know packaging boxes that consist of blanks of cardboard or the like having predetermined fold lines. Such boxes still presently have a section rectangular or square when they can be stored at flat, usually in the form of simple blanks in one layer which are then deployed by making a background and possibly a cover at the time of packaging. The operations of making these boxes are relatively complex and time-consuming. In addition it is difficult to obtain a solid base which does not deteriorate during transport or handling.

Another model of packaging box is known from document US 4,109,848 A.

It is desirable to have a box packaging for a bottle with protection certain, especially with regard to the rigidity of the bottom, which can be stored flat, and whose realization is easy and requires little time.

To this end, the present invention relates to a bottle packaging box, of deformable material such only cardboard, which consists of a deployable blank having a side wall in two identical parts folded over each other according to a lateral generator, so as to be storable flat, and two bottom elements identical in the form of a half-section of the box in extended position, characterized in that the two elements bottom each have a bottom tab arranged along of their diameter, the two bottom legs being glued each one on top of the other so as to create an element strengthening and gripping, the deployment of the box, upon receipt of a bottle, being obtained in pushing the assembly of the two bottom elements into the wall side where this set is automatically blocked by jamming.

The packaging box according to the invention can be stored flat and therefore does not require a large space of storage. Its deployment is carried out by a maneuver quick and easy and the blocking effect of two bottom elements makes it possible to obtain a rigid bottom which does not risk of deformation or disassembly.

Advantageously, each of the two background elements is connected to the side wall by a tab lateral reinforcement whose width corresponds to that of bottom legs and which is folded inwards from the side wall so that the bottom elements are recessed in the side wall and that the free edge of two form reinforcement tabs, with inner contour from the side wall, the support base of the box.

Thanks to this arrangement, a background is obtained laterally reinforced which is particularly solid. Of more, the support base of the box has a component diagonal formed by the edge of the two legs reinforcement, which provides a support base reliable.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the side wall has three upper legs of reinforcement and a cover element connected to its contour upper so as to make a section box upper square. This arrangement allows better position the boxes next to each other without it there is no play between them, when you want a storage in square meshes. Most often, however, we prefer that the section is round over the entire height of the box.

The two parts constituting the side wall can have the shape of a rectangular trapezoid, which allows to make a tapered box.

Each part of the side wall may include, in the vicinity of each of its vertical sides, a line of folding parallel to said side, which allows a oval section box whose shape is facilitated the end of its major axis.

Advantageously, said parts of the wall side are assembled one on the other by gluing to by means of a bonding tab placed along the free side of one of the parts and glued to the free side of the other part. In addition, one of the lateral reinforcement tabs is indented with a length substantially corresponding to the width of the bonding tab. This provision allows avoid excess thickness at the bottom of the box packaging.

According to yet another characteristic of this invention, each part of the side wall has a middle cover element having the shape of the half-section of the box in the deployed position.

The cover is obtained by folding the two cover elements inside the upper part of the box.

Advantageously, each cover element is consisting of two half-sections connected by a tongue in which a central recess is arranged, the half-section top of one of the cover elements has a tab projecting from the diameter of the upper half-section and intended to engage in the recess of the other cover element and the latter has a tab projecting from the diameter of the lower half section and intended to engage in the recess of the first cover element.

This provides a double wall cover whose two elements are blocked one inside the other. A there is no risk of such a cover being removed during transport or handling of the box.

Advantageously, each recess comprises, on its side opposite the lug, two centering shoulders of the tab of the other cover element. This further improves the strength of the cover.

According to yet another characteristic of the invention, the bottom legs have, on both sides, an unglued extension which folds in on itself when deployment. These two extensions strengthen the support base at the ends of the bottom legs, this which is particularly advantageous in the case of boxes packaging whose bottom is oval in section, even more when its outline is circular.

All of the above items from the box packaging are connected together by a pre-folding line, which facilitates deployment and formatting from the packaging box.

Figures 1 to 4 relate to a packaging box of oval section. This box is made from a blank cut from a sheet of cardboard and. with pre-fold lines. This blank 1 has a side wall consisting of two identical parts 2 and 3 separated by a pre-folding center line 4 which is a generator side of the side wall. One of these part 3 has a bonding tab on its free vertical side 5 which is separated from it by a pre-folding line 6.

Other pre-fold lines 7, 8, 9 and 11 are performed respectively in the vicinity of each of the two free vertical sides and in the vicinity of the pre-fold line median 4, on either side of the latter.

Each part 2 and 3 of the side part comprises, along its lower side, a reinforcement tab lateral 12, respectively 13, the reinforcement tab side 13 of part 2 which does not have a lug collage being scalloped to a corresponding length substantially to the width of the bonding tab 5, that is to say substantially at the level of the pre-folding line 8. The other pre-folding lines 7, 9 and 11 extend on these legs 12 and 13.

To these legs 12 and 13 is connected a bottom element 14, respectively 15, the shape of which corresponds to the half-section of the packaging box to be produced, a tab of bottom 16, respectively 17, being arranged along the diagonal of element 14, respectively 15, being there connected by a pre-folding line 18 respectively 19. Each of the bottom legs 16 and 17 has, at its ends, an extension 21, 22, 23 and 24 connected thereto by a vertical pre-folding line 25.

To obtain a bottle packaging box ready to use but can be stored flat, fold up the halves of the blank 1 over each other by folding it along from the middle pre-fold line 4 and glue the tab collage 5 on the free vertical side of part 2 of such so that this bonding tab is inside. The lateral reinforcement tabs 12 and 13 are folded and folded inwards, the two bottom elements 14 and 15 being folded in the other direction. We stick the two legs 16 and 17 on top of each other and, optionally, the lateral reinforcement tabs are glued on inside the bottom of the box.

We then get the blank folded back on itself and glued which is shown in Figure 2.

To deploy and make the packaging box oval section which is shown in Figure 3, we discard slightly the two parts of the side wall at the level from the bottom and grab the two bottom legs 16 and 17, which are glued to each other, to push all of the bottom elements 14 and 15 inside the part bottom of the box. We introduce the bottle to wrap from the top of the box, the periphery of which inner is adjusted to the outer periphery of the bottle so that it creates a piston effect which brakes the bottle in its downward movement in the box. In fact, it descends on its own due to its weight when full to come into contact with bottom elements 14 and 15 which are folded inside the box.

To better understand the structure of the bottom of the box, there is shown in Figure 4, the different elements separated from each other while they are in contact, and even glued on top of each other to some. We see the two parts 2 and 3 of the wall lateral with the middle pre-folding line 4, and the tab gluing 5 which is glued on the end of part 2 to inside the box. We see the edges of the legs of lateral reinforcement 12 and 13 which are folded down along the two parts 2 and 3 of the side wall, the two elements 14 and 15 and the edges of the bottom legs 16 and 17 which are glued to each other. Extensions 21, 22, 23 and 24 of the bottom legs 16 and 17 are folded and folded down so as to strengthen the support base at the level of ends of the major axis of the bottom of the box.

FIG. 5 represents a blank intended to produce a packaging box having at its bottom a circular section and, at its upper part, a section rectangular. The side wall consists of two parts 2 'and 3', which have the shape of a rectangular trapezoid, so that the side wall has the shape of a trapezoid isosceles with a larger upper base, which provides a packaging box for a bottle circular section of frustoconical shape, the diameter of the bottle rising up.

We find on this blank the pre-folding line middle, gluing tab 5, pre-folding line 6, the two lateral reinforcing elements 12 and 13, both bottom elements 14 and 15, and the two bottom legs 16 and 17.

At its upper part, the blank 1 of FIG. 5 has three upper reinforcement tabs 31, 32 and 33 and a cover element 34 comprising a flap 35.

The realization of the box of Figures 5 to 8 is done analogously to that of FIGS. 1 to 4, the tab of bonding 5 being bonded to the internal face of part 3 ' of the side wall and two bottom legs 16 and 17 glued one over the other. The two lateral reinforcement tabs 12 and 13 are folded towards the inside of the box and possibly glued on the internal face of the wall lateral. We then obtain the folded box of Figure 6, which can be stored flat.

To deploy the box, we operate in the same way, by entering the background elements through legs 16 and 17 and pushing them inside the box where they are stuck. We then get the box which is shown in Figure 7.

Figure 8 is a figure similar to Figure 4 where we find all the constituent elements of the bottom of the box.

We see in Figure 7 that we get a box whose lower section is round and the section square top, which can allow better positioning of the boxes when you put several in a packaging element such as a box, due to the formed square of the upper part of the boxes, these are arranged adjacent to their part superior, without possibility of play or displacement.

Figures 9 and 10 show a variant of realization of the cover in the preferred case of a box circular upper section. The blank 1 comprises along its upper base two cover elements 41 and 42, semicircle shape, which are pushed inward from the box when it has been deployed and the bottle is setup. The two cover elements 41 and 42 come into contact by their diameter and close the part top of the box.

In the embodiment of Figure 9, each cover member has another cover member in the shape of a semicircle 43, respectively 44, which is connected to the first cover element by a tongue 45, respectively 46.

In each of the tabs 45 and 46, a central recess 47, respectively 48. The element of upper cover 43 has a tab 49, making protrusion in the recess 47. Similarly, the element lower cover 42 has a tab 51 forming protrusion in the recess 48. On its side opposite the tab 49, respectively 51, the recess 47, respectively 48, has two centering shoulders 53, respectively 54.

This structure allows for a cover much more solid, double-walled, as is illustrated in Figure 10. For this purpose, when the bottle is in place, we fold the two tabs 45 at right angles and 46 and the two outer cover elements 43 and 44 in such a way that the two cover elements 41 and 43, respectively 42 and 44, are parallel to each other the other. The tab 49 of the upper cover element 43 enters the recess 48 of the tongue 46; so similar, the tab 51 of the lower cover element 42 enters the recess 47 of the tongue 45; We obtain then double locking of the two cover assemblies one inside the other and blocking is further improved by the centering of each leg 49 respectively 51, between the shoulders 54, respectively 53.

This cover assembly structure has two half sections can also be used to make a handle. Advantageously, the pre-folding lines of the wall lateral are carried out with a tracing tool carrying out a mid-thickness cut. This facilitates the folding of the wall lateral. On the other hand, the other pre-folding lines of the bottom and cover are made with a crease tool which crush the cardboard to make a groove. The lines of creasing bends less easily than the drawn lines and tend to offer elastic resistance as an effect spring.

It can be seen that the invention makes it possible to carry out rigid structure bottle packaging boxes which can withstand transportation and handling. The blanks used to make the boxes being glued and folded on themselves, the boxes can be stored flat in small footprint.

The deployment for the installation of the box is performed quickly and easily while ensuring good rigidity of the bottom and, if necessary, of the cover.

The invention applies preferably to boxes of circular or oval section as well as shaped boxes frusto-conical flared upwards. However, the description has been provided as an example only and it is evident that modifications and variants can be made without depart from the scope of the present invention.

In particular, other materials can be used deformable than cardboard, especially materials synthetics such as polyvinyl chloride.

We can also design the boxes combining the different possibilities which have been described above, by example of boxes for section bottles oval and frustoconical.

Claims (13)

1. A packaging box for bottles (1), made from a blank in a flexible foldable material such as cardboard, comprising a side wall comprising two similar body panels (2, 3, 2', 3') folded one on the other about a lateral generatrix (4), whereby said blank can be shelved flat, and two identical bottom elements (14, 15) having the shape of a half-section of the erected box, characterized in that each of said bottom elements comprises a bottom flap (16, 17) connected along its diameter, the two bottom flaps (16, 17) being secured to each other so that they produce an element that strengthens the bottom of the box and that constitutes a grip, the erection of the box, upon receiving a bottle, being carried out by pushing the bottom elements into said side wall, where they are blocked by jamming.

A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of said bottom elements (14, 15) is attached to said side wall (2, 3, 2', 3') through a laterally strengthening panel (12, 13) that is substantially of the same width as said bottom flaps, and which is folded towards the inside of said side wall, whereby said bottom elements (14, 15) are retracted in said side wall and the free edge of each of said strengthening panels (12, 13) forms, with the lower edge of said side wall, a support base for said box.
3. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein three upper strengthening flaps (31, 32, 33) and a cover element (34, 35) are connected to the upper edge of said side wall, whereby said box has a square upper section.
4. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein said body panels (2', 3') have the shape of a rectangular trapezium, whereby said box has a frustoconical shape.
5. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of said body panels (2, 3) comprises, next to each of its vertical side edges, a fold line (7, 8, 9, 11) parallel to said edge, whereby said box has an oval section.
6. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein said body panels (2, 3) are secured to each other through an attaching panel (5) connected to the free side edge of one of said body panels and glued to the free side edge of the other body panel.
7. A packaging box as claimed in claims 2 and 6, wherein one of said laterally strengthening panels (13) is cut out from a length which is substantially equal to the width of said attaching panel.
8. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of said body panels (2, 3, 2', 3') is connected to a median cover element (41, 42) having the shape of a half-section of the erected box.
9. A packaging box as claimed in claim 8, wherein each cover element comprises two half-sections (41, 43, 42, 44) joined by a strip (45, 46) into which is arranged a central aperture (47, 48), and wherein the upper half-section (43) of one of said cover elements comprises an insertion flap (49) projecting out of the diameter of its upper half-section and intended to engage itself in the aperture (48) of the other cover element, and the other cover element comprises an insertion flap (51) projecting out of the diameter of its lower half-section and intended to engage itself in the aperture (47) of the first cover element (41).
10. A packaging box as claimed in claim 9, wherein each aperture (47, 48) comprises, on its side opposite to the insertion flap (49) of the corresponding cover element, two shoulders (53, 54) for centring the flap (49) of the other cover element.
11. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein the side wall section is fitted to that of the bottle to be packed, at least substantially close to its bottom.
12. A packaging box as claimed in claim 2, wherein said bottom flaps (16, 17) comprise, on both side edges, a non-secured extension (21, 22, 23, 24) that folds towards itself during the erection of said box.
13. A packaging box as claimed in claim 1, wherein all the elements belonging to said blank are connected together by fold lines.
