Abstract

Horticultural product packaging

GENERAL TECHNICAL AREA

The invention relates to the field of packaging horticultural or plant products of a certain size, such as flowers, bouquets, plants or trees, and more particularly packaging for transporting plants in pots.

By "certain dimension" is preferably meant a product having a height of at least 25 centimeters.

STATE OF THE ART

Horticultural products, especially when they include a trunk, branches or flowers (we will speak of plants), are inherently fragile. Therefore, the delivery of these products is delicate and can pose difficulties.

Delivery often takes place in an urban environment and must meet specific logistical and economic conditions: it is not possible, for example, to place a plant directly in a truck while ensuring that it does not get damaged and by charging sufficiently the truck to make transportation profitable. Bringing the plants closer together can damage the plants and they can also tip over. You have to attach them, which takes time. It is also not possible to arrange them in rigid boxes, because such boxes would occupy too much storage space at the sender and the recipient, and would be too expensive.

Furthermore, simply putting the plants in a hollow carton is not satisfactory because the delivery person will not necessarily respect the direction of positioning of the carton.

If the leaves or flowers touch the side walls of the box, they may be damaged. If the leaves or flowers touch the top of the cardboard, if it is knocked over, they may also deteriorate.

There is therefore a need for new means to ensure delivery protecting the plant. These means must be easy to use and inexpensive, from the point of view of the sender, the deliverer and the recipient.

PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

To this end, the invention proposes a new packaging for plant in a pot, the plant and the pot extending in a main direction, the packaging preferably being made of cardboard and comprising:

- a base intended to receive the pot, comprising:

a bottom, a wall, extending from the bottom, an axial stop, preferably extending from the wall, to limit the displacement of the pot relative to the base in the main direction, and an opening through which can spread the plant when the pot is received in the base,

- a cap intended to surround the plant and configured to be positioned above the opening in the main direction,

- Translation locking means for securing in translation, in at least one direction of the main direction, the cap to the base.

This packaging effectively protects the plant and in particular the upper part of it thanks to the cap which is fixed on the base. Indeed, the plant is blocked in a vertical direction thanks to the axial stop as well as in a horizontal position thanks to the blocking of the pot: the latter is therefore completely immobilized in the packaging while being protected.

This packaging is practical for the sender because it comes in the form of a few sheets (at least two or three sheets because the folded and glued cap has a thickness of two sheets) of flat and foldable cardboard, which means that its storage takes up very little space.

This packaging is practical for the delivery person because it is strong enough to be able to carry the plant conveniently and protects it even if the cardboard is positioned horizontally, at an angle, or even upside down.

This packaging is practical for the recipient because it is sacrificial and recyclable.

This packaging is not expensive because it can be made entirely of cardboard paper.

The invention may include the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination:

a wall portion, extending from the bottom portion, and of length configured to abut against a top of the cap,

- cutouts formed in the wall portion, to define the locking means in translation, in which the cover flank comprises:

- a plurality of successive portions, separated from each other by a fold line,

- flap portions forming a bottom extending from one end of at least one of the successive portions,

- flap portions forming a top extending from another end of at least one of the successive portions.

The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a flat packaging, comprising the following steps:

- preparation of the sidewall assembly as described above from one or more sheets of flat cardboard,

- collage of the cap.

The process can also include the following steps:

- folding of the base flank to form the base,

- folding of the cap flank to form the cap,

- assembly of the cap on the base.

The invention also relates to a computer program product, comprising code instructions which, when executed by a computer, allow the production of a set of sidewalls as described above or of packaging as described above. .

The invention also relates to a physical plane, comprising indications of cuts and of folding of a package as defined above, or of a set of sides as defined above. The physical plane can be represented on paper or stored on a digital medium, in matrix or vector format (PDF, JPEG, png, bitmap, dxf, illustrator, etc.).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring to Figures 1 to 9 and Figures 10 to 12, two packages 1, 1 'according to two embodiments of the invention will be described. The packaging 1 is suitable for transporting a plant 2 in a pot 3. The pot 3 typically contains soil or foam soaked in water, or only water or may even be empty.

As the plant 2 and the pot 3 (and the packaging 1, 1 'also) have a normal sense of arrangement which is the vertical direction, we will define the direction Z as the main direction (or vertical therefore). The other two orthogonal directions form a plane, which will be called the XY plane.

Once set in volume and assembled, the package 1 is of generally parallelepiped shape. Its height is typically between 25 and 200cm, for a width dimension between 30 and 80cm.

The packaging 1 comprises two distinct and separate main parts: a base 100, 100 'and a cover 200, 200' integral in translation with the base 100, 100 'in the vertical direction Z via translation locking means 300, 300 'from the cover 200, 200' to the base 100, 100 '. The translational locking means 300, 300 'are preferably integrated into the base 100, 100' and / or the cap 200, 200 '.

The base 100, 100 'has the function of carrying, holding, supporting the pot 3 and therefore the weight of the latter and of the plant. The cap 200 has the function of protecting the plant 2. In one embodiment, the cap 200 'also has the function of carrying the base 100' and the pot 3.

As indicated above, the base 100, 100 ′ can be produced (and preferably produced) from a flank F100, F100 ′, that is to say a single flat piece of the same material. The blank F100, F100 'is cut out and has folded areas for its volume.

Similarly, the cap 200, 200 ′ can be produced (and preferably produced) from a flank F200, F200 ′.

For example, the use of cardboard flank F100, F100 ', F200, F200' is a preferred embodiment. More details will be given later.

The base

As illustrated in Figures 2 to 6 and 12, the base 100, 100 'is the part which holds and / or carries the pot 3. It must therefore be resistant.

The base 100, 100 'has a general shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, with an open face.

The base 100, 100 ′ comprises a bottom 110. In the first embodiment, the pot 3 can be placed on the bottom 110 (not necessarily necessary as will be seen below). In the second embodiment, the pot 3 is supported on the bottom 110 '. This bottom 110, 100 ′ has essentially a structuring function for the base 100. The bottom 110 has a rectangular shape.

From this bottom extend walls 120, 122, 124, 126 (typically four therefore), 120 ', 122', 124 ', 126', which face two by two. The walls 120, 122, 124, 126, 120 ′, 122 ′, 124 ′, 126 ′ are integral with the bottom 110, 110 ′ and are brought into volume by folding at the level of a marked fold.

Finally, the base 100, 100 ', which accommodates pot 3, includes an opening 140, 140' which allows the plant 2 to leave the base 100, 100 'via the opening 140, 140'. The plant 2 is then protected by the cap 200, 200 '. The opening 140 extends in a plane perpendicular to the vertical direction Z.

In a preferred variant of the first embodiment, the axial stop 130, 131 extends from one of the walls 120, 122, 124, 126 (and more precisely from an upper end of the wall), in practice these are the two opposite walls 120, 122 in the figures, with one stopper per wall. The stop 130, 131 is thus formed by a flap 132. For reasons of symmetries, the axial stop 130, 131 is formed by two flaps 132, 134 each extending from an opposite wall 120,

To hold the axial stop 130, 131 in place, this can further comprise a lateral flap 137 (two for each flap 132, 134) extending from a lateral end of the flap 132, 134. The lateral flap 137, once in position, extends vertically in the direction Z and, thanks to a tongue 135 positioned at the end of the side flap 137, can be locked in movement in the direction Z. The tongue 135 engages with a notch 112 made in the wall 124, 126 (at the junction between the bottom 110 and the wall 124, 126). The lateral flap 137 is positioned outside the walls 124, 126 and once the tongue 135 engaged in the notch 112, the stop 130, 131 is held vertically.

In order to be able to be used with different pot sizes 3, the height of the axial stop 130, 131 is adjustable. In the case of the flaps 132, 134, this adjustability in the vertical direction results in a plurality of parallel folding zones 136 (two in the figures) on the same wall 120, 122. Thus depending on the folding at the level of fold 136 chosen, the wall 120, 122 does not have the same height, which means that the flap 132, 134 does not extend from the same height. This gives practical modularity in use. The distance between the two fold zones 136 can be between 1 and 5 cm, for example between 1 and 3 cm.

The opening 140 is made using these flaps 132, 134, which each include, for example, an arcuate shape. It remains possible to have shorter, straight flaps, which simply block the pot 3 according to a cord.

It is thus understood that the pot 3 is chosen to have a maximum dimension greater than a maximum dimension of the opening 140.

The walls 120, 122, from which extends the axial stop 130, 131, can also include reinforcements 121 which extend from lateral ends of the walls. The reinforcements 121 are in the form of tongues which comprise at their end attachment means 123. Thus, each reinforcement 121 of the wall 120 cooperates with the reinforcement opposite the wall 122 and the reinforcements 121 are attached between them with attachment means 123 (mortise tenon in the figures). These reinforcements 121 make it possible to better hold the base in volume.

In a preferred variant of the second embodiment, the axial stop 130, 131 extends indirectly from one of the walls 120 ', 122', 124 ', 126', in practice the two opposite walls 120 ', 122' on the figures. An intermediate horizontal flap 132 ′ (in the XY plane) extends from the wall 120 ′, 122 ′, and from this intermediate flap 132 ′, in its extension, extends a vertical flap (along Z) 133 ′. Once folded, the vertical flap 133 'has one end which comes just above the opening and / or the pot 3 (which is flush with the opening of the seat 162'). The stop 130 ', 131' is therefore made by contact along the line defined by the end of the vertical flap or flaps 133 '.

The opening 140 is again provided in the middle of the vertical flap 133 ', which is split into two parts, on either side of the opening and of the flap 132', which comprises a half-opening.

To keep the vertical flap 133 'in place, there are provided one or more tabs 135' which engage in a notch 112 'from the bottom 110', in particular with a harpoon shape.

In the same way, the opening 140 ′ is made using these flaps 132, 134, which for example each include a shape in an arc of a circle. Here, the only constraint concerning the opening 140 ′ is that it is wide enough to allow the plant to pass.

In practice the flaps 132 'and 133' are partially cut inside the wall 120 ', 122'. The wall 120 ′, 122 ′, once in position, includes an opening corresponding to the pattern of these flaps 132 ′, 133 ′. The upper end 121 ', 123' of the wall 120 ', 122' has another role which will be described later. The end 121 ', 123' may include a slight flap. Furthermore, the ends 121 'and 123' advantageously comprise a handle (the two holes) making it possible to move the base 100 'inside the cover 200'.

Alternatively (not shown), the axial stop can be produced directly from a flap formed from a wall, in rotation along the vertical axis Z relative to the latter. The flap, by pivoting, is then positioned just above the pot 3 and blocks it in translation along Z.

In order to hold the pot 3 in the XY plane, the base 100, 100 'further comprises holding means 160, 160'.

In the two embodiments illustrated in the figures, the holding means 160, 160 'are produced in the form of a seat 162, 162', that is to say an opening 162, 162 'inside and against which pot 3 comes to hang.

The seat 162, 162 'may include flexible tabs 164, 164' extending radially inward of the opening 162, 162 'so as to be able to adapt to several pot sizes. For example, pots larger than 15cm (and generally less than 50cm) in diameter can be used.

In the first embodiment (FIGS. 1 to 9), the seat 162 is formed by a flap 165 extending from one of the walls 120, 122, 124, 126. For reasons of available space, the flap 165 preferably extends from a wall 124, 126, that is to say a wall which does not include the flaps 132, 134 of the axial stop 130. As illustrated in the figures, the seat 162 is preferably formed by two flaps 165 vis-à-vis extending respectively from two opposite walls 124, 126. The two flaps each form a semicircle corresponding to a half-seat. Each flap extends from an upper end of one of the walls.

More precisely, since the seat 162 holds the pot in the XY plane, it receives a significant amount of effort and must therefore be able to resist it. To improve the solidity of the seat 162, it is possible to provide a flap 162 which is double, forming a U with a portion 166 which extends parallel to the bottom 110 and in contact with the latter, a portion 167 which s extends vertically or substantially vertically (against the corresponding portion 167 of the other flap 165 opposite), and a portion 168 comprising the seat 162, which extends parallel to the bottom 110.

Complementarily or alternatively, the wall 124, 126 may include a fold 125 towards the inside of the base 100, from which the flap 165 extends. The thickness of the wall is thus doubled locally. In fact, the fold 125 preferably does not extend over the entire height of the external face of the wall 124.

Successively, there is therefore the wall 124, 126 and its fold 125, then the portion 168 and the seat 162, horizontal, then the portion 167 vertical, then the portion 166, horizontal.

In the second embodiment, the seat 162 ′ is integrated into the bottom 110 ′, which therefore includes an opening. The pot is then inserted into the seat 160 'and protrudes under the base 100'.

The hairdo

As illustrated in Figures 7 to 9 and 11, the cap 200 is in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped. In the first embodiment, the cover 200 preferably has an open face 202, to allow its positioning around the base 100. In the second embodiment, the cover 200 has the shape of a closed carton, with inside which is housed the base 100 '.

The cover 200, 200 ′ comprises walls 210, 210 ′, 212, 212 ′, 214, 214 ′ 216, 216 ′, preferably four, which, once put in place, are opposite walls 110, 110 ′ respectively, 112, 112 ', 114, 114', 116, 116 'of the base and completely covers them (while being outside).

Thus, once the packaging 1, 1 ′ has been placed in volume and assembled and positioned on the standing floor, the visible part of the packaging 1, 1 ′ is the cover 200, 200 ′.

The cover 200, 200 'comprises a top 220, 220' typically formed by flaps 222, 222 'extending from a respective upper end of the walls 210, 210', 212, 212 ', 214, 214', 216, 216 . The top 220 has the function of closing the cap 200, in order to protect the interior of the package 1.

In the first embodiment, the cover 200 does not include a bottom, since it has an open face 202 and it is inserted vertically above and then around the base.

In the second embodiment, the cover 200 'has a bottom 224' formed by flaps 225 'and the base 100' is inserted inside the cover.

In order to have a usable cover 200, 200 ′, the four walls 210, 210 ′, 212, 212 ′, 214, 214 ′, 216, 216 ′ are integral with the adjacent walls. In a preferred variant, a tongue 217, 217 ′ extending from a wall at the end of the sidewall (the wall 216, 216 ′ in the figures) which forms the cover 200, 200 ′ is provided. This tongue 217, 217 ′ receives glue, in order to glue a portion extending over one lateral end of the wall to the other end of the blank (the wall 210, 210 ′ in the figures). The glue makes it possible to have a cap with good hold and visually satisfying.

Alternatively, conventional notch or fixing means with tongues can be provided.

The cover 200, 200 'advantageously comprises handles 230, 230'. For gripping reasons, a handle 230, 230 ′ is provided on each of two opposite walls. The handles 230, 230 ′ are advantageously formed by pre-cuts in the wall, which it suffices to open by pressing.

In order to further block the base 100 in the vertical direction Z, the cap 200 comprises one or more axial cap stops 240 (different from the translation locking means 300 therefore). These stops 240 can be formed in several ways.

In an embodiment illustrated in the figures, the stop 240 is formed by a local deformation of a wall 210, 212, 214, 216 or of several walls at the same time (therefore in an angle), to create an internal projection at the level of the axial stop 130 of the base 100. The internal projection blocks movement in the vertical direction Z by contact with the axial stop 130. Preferably, the stop 240 is as close as possible to the axial stop 130, ideally with a contact to block any movement.

As described above, the axial stop 130 can have several different heights thanks to the existence of several different fold zones 136. In addition, the cover 200 can have several stops 240, which are positioned at different heights corresponding to the possible heights of the based. We thus notice two stops 242, 244 at two different heights at different angles.

The portion 168 may include tabs 169 at its lateral ends, which, once the volume has been set, come to bear on the bottom 110 of the base 100 to reinforce it and better hold the holding means 160.

The locking means in translation

The translational blocking means 300, 300 ′ serve to secure in vertical translation Z the base 100, 100 ′ to the cap 200, 200 ′.

In the first embodiment, the translational locking means 300 are attachment means, which also secures in translation in the XY plane (in addition to the securing in translation in the Z direction). We speak of a complete connection (because it generates an absence of relative movement between the base 100 and the cap 200) For reasons of practicality and cost, they are preferably integrated into the base 100 and the cap 200.

In a possible variant, the attachment means 300 take the form of a pair of orifice 302 and tongue 304, the tongue 304 being received by folding in the orifice 302. The orifice 302 has a general form of slot. As the cover 200 is around the base 100, the tongue 304 is on the cover 200 and the orifice 302 is on the base 100.

The attachment means 300 must be resistant because they take up the weight of the pot 2 when the packaging 1 is transported by the handles 220.

For this, one can provide on the one hand at least two pairs 302/304, distributed over two walls 120, 122, 124, 126 (in the figures the walls 120, 122 which include the stop 130, 131). There can also be two pairs 302/304 per wall (four couples in total in the figures).

For this, it can be provided on the other hand that the tongues extend horizontally (therefore in the direction X or Y), so that the force recovery is done by the width of the tongue (therefore in the direction Z).

In order to protect the integrity of the plant, use is made of tamper-resistant fastening means 300. For this, the tongue 304 of the cap 200 comprises at least one extension 305 which folds during insertion into the orifice 302 and which resumes its shape once put in place. The extension 305 then abuts against the internal face of the wall 120, 122. Access to this extension is inconvenient without damaging the packaging 100, which makes the attachment means 300 inviolable, that is to say that they are sacrificed if they are to be opened. In particular, to open the packaging, the end customer tears off the tabs.
