Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cleaning device for metallurgical furnaces, especially crucible furnaces.
herrschenden hohen Temperaturen erschwert.
In melting furnaces in which alloys with easily oxidizable components are melted, such as alloys containing zinc and aluminum as brasses, special brasses and aluminum bronzes, dross, where applicable with the use of melt treatment salts, build up on the furnace walls and are difficult to remove . In the crucible furnaces used in practice, the wall thickness of the refractory partition is relatively small and is often only less than 10 cm. The refractory lining is exposed to considerable thermal and mechanical loads during the melting process of the metals. The lifespan of the crucible furnaces essentially depends on the durability of the refractory delivery. In order to ensure that the refractory delivery lasts for a long time, it is necessary to clean the crucible furnace at certain intervals by removing the dross that forms. It is important that the oven is cleaned while it is warm.
In practice, it has so far been customary to remove the dross manually using a jackhammer. This procedure is further complicated by the high temperatures prevailing in the hot furnace. When working with the jackhammer there is also the risk that the chisel will penetrate into the unsintered mass of the infeed and damage it.
It is also known to melt off the dross by means of fluxes containing chloride or fluoride. The use of such fluxes is associated with additional costs. Special protective measures are required when handling the flux. There is also a risk that the feed will be attacked by the flux.
The invention was based on the object of a cleaning device for metallurgical To create furnaces, especially crucible furnaces, with which an effective and the refractory delivery gentle cleaning of the oven is made possible.
An
According to the invention the object is achieved by the features specified in
With the proposed cleaning device, the dross formed on the inner wall of crucible furnaces can be removed almost completely within predetermined cleaning intervals, without damaging the refractory lining. When using a cleaning device with only one cutting tool, the dross is gradually removed evenly over the entire inner wall of the crucible. If a cleaning device with a plurality of cutting tools arranged one above the other, which overlap slightly in their area of action, is used, the cleaning process can be carried out even more effectively since the area of action is considerably larger in the case of a plurality of cutting tools. The crucible furnace is cleaned when the furnace is warm. The use of the mechanical cleaning device leads to a considerable reduction in workload, since the otherwise heavy physical work of the furnace personnel can be dispensed with when exposed to great heat. The entire cleaning device is suspended in the crucible furnace on a crane that is usually found in the foundry.
A compressed air motor is used as the drive unit for the cutting tool, which sufficiently fulfills the required requirements. The speed of the rotor is infinitely adjustable. The cleaning device consists of a frame which can be lowered into the crucible furnace by means of a crane and which has a central support on which a plurality of support arms running in a star shape are arranged, at least three support arms lying in one plane. The support arms are spaced apart. A rotating cutting tool, preferably a milling cutter, is located on at least one of the support arms. The cutting tool is arranged to be movable in the direction of the inner wall of the crucible. Either the cutting tool is axially displaceable on the support arm or the support arm is telescopic or the support arm is formed in two parts, the outer part of the support arm, which points in the direction of the crucible furnace inner wall, being pivotable. The cutting tool is attached to this part. The other two support arms, in a version with three support arms, are rigid and serve as a guiding and stabilizing element. The free ends of the support arms with the guide elements lie against the inner wall of the crucible. In order to be able to use the cleaning device for crucible furnaces of different diameters, the support arms are designed to be adjustable in the radial direction. The cleaning device can be operated or guided manually after insertion in the crucible furnace or automatically by means of a corresponding additional device as a guide frame. The cleaning device rotates automatically in the operating state due to the rotating movements of the cutting tools. The speed and motor power for the cutting tools are designed so that there is a balance between the contact pressure and a sufficient speed. As a result of the precisely determinable removal depth by the cutting tools, damage to the refractory delivery of the crucible furnaces is excluded.

The cleaning device shown in Figure 1 consists of a
The length of the
In order to prevent the milling cutter 8 from being flung too strongly against the inner wall and from the latter again when the cleaning device is started up, a
