Description

The invention relates to an application device provided with a plurality of bristles, for the application of a liquid to pasty or powdery consistency product, especially cosmetic or dermatological, on a surface such as the skin and its integuments, as well as an application set containing said product and equipped of such an application device.

The assembly targeted by the present invention is of the type comprising a reservoir containing the product and provided with an open end to which is attached, removable manner, a plug acting as a gripping element. The plug is secured to an applicator member, generally via of a rod, so that the application member, in the closed position of the assembly, plunges continuously into said product.

The reservoir is intended, in particular to contain a makeup product or a dermatological product, and more particularly a mascara, a lipstick liquid, an eyeliner, a "blush" type powder or a nail polish, or a hair or dermatological treatment product. A dose of this product is taken using such an applicator, and applied to the surface to be treated.

Many applicators of this type have been proposed in the past for the purpose to apply mascara on the eyelashes, polish on the nails, powder on the cheeks or dye on the hair.

Thus, it is known from document FR-A-2 607 372, in the name of the applicant, an applicator in the form of a mascara brush, consisting of bristles each having on the surface at least one straight capillary groove extending rectilinearly over their entire length. The capillary grooves constitute mascara reserve sites, allowing the application, a quick and effective transfer of mascara on the eyelashes, with a view to homogeneous makeup.

By document FR-A-2 759 872, also in the name of the applicant, know a mascara applicator for eyelashes, having a profile handle substantially flat, and carrying an application member, said application member being composed of a plurality of bristles, implanted on a first end of handle, in an arrangement perpendicular to a plane passing through the handle. The hairs may have a cross section (or cross section) cruciform, or semicircular shape or an "S",. Thus, the hairs present in surface one or respectively two straight grooves.

In addition, by document FR-A-2 687 055, also in the name of applicant, we know a nail polish applicator with a tuft composed of two types of hair, which hair may present at less a longitudinal capillary groove.

Furthermore, the document WO 97/10374 describes a process for manufacturing fibers twisted non-circular section, obtained by twisting around their axis central from a monofilament of non-cylindrical section of revolution. This document refers to oval or polygonal section fibers or mono-filaments having a core provided with at least one helically extending rib around of the filament core. Such fibers are twisted after extrusion. This document describes the use of these fibers for different kinds of brushes abrasive or cleaning, or for toothbrushes, hairbrushes, as well as for the application of cosmetics.

Although these applicators of the prior art give results globally satisfactory, it appeared desirable to have an applicator to obtain a makeup both very loaded and very homogeneous, whose autonomy is superior to that of known applicators. Indeed, the applicators mentioned above may have the disadvantage of losing a good deal of their product load, in particular when the application body is subject to a spinning operation prior to application. This effect is even more sensitive that the grooves or hair grooves of the hairs are scraped all the way through this spinning operation.

Also, the object of the invention is to provide an applicator having, in particular after spin, a large supply of product. Indeed, the plaintiff discovered that, by the combination of hairs having a helical profile levogyre and bristles with a dextrorotatory helical profile could be obtained an applicator having a product autonomy substantially greater than the autonomy of a conventional applicator of the same type.

For the purposes of the present application, bristles having a helical profile "Levorotatory" means hair with a surface that forms at least one pattern progressing helically about a longitudinal axis of said bristles, with a direction of rotation opposite to the direction of rotation of the hands of a watch, said helical pattern being viewed from the axis of said bristles.

Similarly, bristles having a helical profile "dextrorotatory", mean bristles whose surface forms at least one helically advancing pattern about a longitudinal axis of said bristles, with a direction of rotation identical to sense of rotation of the hands of a clock, said helical pattern being seen from the axis of said bristles.

The invention also aims at a controlled application of the product, irrespective of the zone of the bristles constituting the applicator member, placed in contact with the support treat. Such an application is suitable, in particular, for the makeup of the eyelashes or eyebrows, lips, skin or nails, or to a hair treatment or dermatology.

The object of the invention is also to provide an applicator which remains simple and economical manufacturing, and practical use. Otherwise, when the product to be applied is relatively fluid, the object of the invention is to better control the flow velocity of the product during application.

More particularly, another object of the invention consists of a brush of mascara with more mascara-charged hairs than a conventional brush, while being able to give a very regular makeup eyelashes.

The plaintiff has found, moreover, that the intersection of the eyelashes with a a mixture of bristles with helical profiles levorotatory and dextrorotary, of which is provided a mascara brush, matches the shape of all the eyelashes of an eyelid. Unlike brushes of the prior art, such a brush allows a cladding more homogeneous and complete of the entire surface of each eyelash. So when the user applies the brush on the eyelashes, it charges the base of the eyelashes in mascara over the entire width of the eyelid. Then, turning the brush around its central axis, it successively releases the mascara loaded into the profiles of bristles over the entire surface of each eyelash, while painting and separating them. Such a brush makes it possible to obtain a makeup that is both loaded, regular, lengthening and curling.

Another object of the invention is a brush for the application of a varnish on the nails and having controlled flow properties, while by presenting a very important product retention capacity.

Also, the subject of the present invention is a device for applying a product, in particular a cosmetic or dermatological product, comprising:
  • a gripping member and an applicator member, integral with said gripping member, said applicator member comprising a bristle arrangement, said arrangement being formed by a mixture of at least two groups of bristles of different types, characterized in that said first group, on at least a portion of the length of the bristles, has at least one levorotatory helical profile, and in that said second group of bristles has, on at least a portion of the length of the bristles, at least one dextrorotatory profile .

According to one embodiment, all or part of the hairs of said first and / or second groups has a cross section having at least one edge progressing helically around a longitudinal axis of said bristles.

In this case, the cross-section may be of polygonal shape, in particular square, triangular or rectangular.

According to another embodiment, all or part of the hairs of said first and / or second groups has a cross-section having at least one recessed portion progressing helically around a longitudinal axis of said bristles. In this case, the cross section may be cruciform in shape; trilobe; tetralobe; oval hollow; hollow cylindrical; hollow rectangular; polygonal, polygonal hollow; in the form of "8", "C", "S", "E", "F", "H", "I", "L", "N", "W", "V", "T", "Y"; of star shape or crescent shape.

According to a first possibility, the recessed portion is formed on the surface of the fur. It is possible, also, that the recessed portion is formed inside hairs.

Alternatively, all or part of the hairs of said first and / or second groups can have a cross-section having at least one progressing rib of helically around a longitudinal axis of said bristles.

The proportion of the number of hairs of the first group in relation to the number of hairs of the second group can vary between 2% and 98%.

According to one embodiment, the application member comprises at least one tuft consisting of said bristles, the bristles being oriented substantially in parallel, one end of the tuft being attached to the gripping element by through a rod. When the application organ is formed by a single tuft of hair, it is possible to obtain a particularly suitable application device the application of nail polish, such as a nail polish brush. A said applicator member may also be shaped as a "blush" brush, allowing the application of a powder on the face or brush eyeliner.

According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the application member is solidary of a free end of a support, said applicator member being disposed in a plane of said support and oriented transversely to a longitudinal axis of the support. Such a provision may be adopted, advantageously, for a mascara application device on the eyelashes.

According to one embodiment, said bristles are oriented, in a manner substantially radial on the applicator member, with respect to a central core. In this case, the application device can be used as a brush of mascara or as a hair dye applicator on the hair.

Advantageously, such a core is formed by the winding of two branches of a wire so as to tighten the bristles between the rolled branches of blade. In this case, we obtain a brush type "bottle brush". Preferably, the soul defines an axis coinciding with the axis of the application device.

The application device may have variable external shapes, so its profile, formed by the ends of the bristles, can be adjusted to the needs, according to the nature of the product to be applied and the morphology of the support. This profile can be obtained, for example by mowing hair with a mower. The device application may comprise a mixture of hairs of a first length and hair of a second length, greater than the first.

In addition, all or part of the bristles of the application devices covered by the invention can be of any type: with tapered or rounded ends, shaped like fork or pinhead, or have undergone all kinds of known treatments by the skilled person. These hairs can be wavy in a plane or shaped spiral stretched.

Regarding the section of the bristles, it can be registered, advantageously, in a circle with a diameter of between about 6/100 th of mm and about 30/100 th of mm.

Depending on the nature of the application organ and the nature of the product to apply, the length of the bristles can be between about 2 mm and about 25 mm. In the case of a brush type "brush", the length of a hair is defined by the distance between its two free ends.

The bristles may be made, for example, of polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene / propylene copolymer, of polyamide, of polyester, of polyvinyl, teflon, polyethylene terephthalate or elastomer thermoplastic.

When said profile is made in the form of a groove or a rib, advantageously, the groove (rib) has a depth (height) so that the ratio between the depth (height) of the groove (rib) and the diameter of the circle in which the sections of the bristles are written is between 1/10 and 9/10. For information only, the depth of the groove can be between 2/100 th of mm and 8/100 th of mm.

The invention also relates to an application set comprising a container intended to contain the product to be applied, capable of being taken with the aid of a application device as defined above.

In such an application set, in order to ensure a correct dosage of the product and its homogeneous distribution on the application organ, in some cases a wiper member may be provided, advantageously situated in the vicinity of the open end of the tank. Such a wiper member is intended to dose the quantity of product taken by the application body, and to distribute it regular. Preferably, such a wiper member is made of a material elastomer, possibly made of foam, and has a passage adapted to be traversed by the applicator member and, if appropriate, by a portion of a rod connecting the applicator member to the gripping member. Said passage of the organ de-spinning may comprise at least one squeezing lip, open or contiguous. In particular when the application member is carried by a flat shank, this passage may be in the form of at least one slot extending over a portion substantial section of the wiper member.

The invention consists, apart from the arrangements set out above, in a certain number of other provisions which will be more explicitly discussed below, examples of embodiments described with reference to the accompanying drawings, but which are in no way limiting.

Cette tige 5 présente une extrémité inférieure 5a sur laquelle est fixé, par exemple par collage ou emboítage, un organe d'application 4.With reference to FIG. 1, we can see a set of mascara application 1, of axis central X, for the application of a product M contained in a cylindrical tank 2 and equipped with an applicator 3. The applicator 3 comprises a cap 3a capable of being fixed by screwing on the neck 21 of the reservoir and serving as a gripping element. The collar 21 has an external thread 22, able to cooperate with a thread complementary 3b made on the lower portion of the inner surface of the cap 3a. The plug 3a has a generally elongated cylindrical shape, allowing easy handling. The cap 3a is provided with a central rod 5 emerging from the plug 3a. This rod 5 has a lower end 5a on which is fixed, for example by gluing or casing, an application member 4.

En position de stockage, l'organe d'essorage est traversé par la tige 5.The neck 21 of the bottle has a free circular edge 23 defining an opening 10. In this opening is mounted a wring member 8, formed of a material elastically deformable. The wiper member is in the form of a glove finger whose bottom is turned towards the tank 2. The bottom is open, to form a circular spin lip, suitable for the extraction of the applicator 6 out of the tank, first squeeze the stem, then remove all excess of product, on the organ of application. In storage position, the organ spin is crossed by the rod 5.

La loupe A montre deux types de poils de section triangulaire et carrée, le poil de section triangulaire comportant un profil hélicoïdal lévogyre P7 et le poil de section carrée comportant un profil hélicoïdal dextrogyre R20.The applicator member 4 shown in FIG. 1 is a brush for applying mascara to the eyelashes, comprising an elongated core 4a formed by twisting two branches of a wire which has been folded into a U. 4a core is fixed by force fitting into the end 5a of the rod 5. A multitude of bristles 9 is implanted radially between the son of the core 4a. When the branches of the wire are twisted, the bristles are tightened and held between the helical turns of the core 4a. The magnifying glass A shows two types of triangular and square section hairs, the triangular section hair having a levorotatory helical profile P 7 and the square section hairs having a dextrorotatory helical profile R 20 .

In this case, it defines an axis coinciding with the axis X of the brush. It can also be eccentric with respect to the circle, in which hairs are inscribed. The bristles 9, made of synthetic fibers and optionally flocked, are chosen from the hairs previously defined, and illustrated, in a nonlimiting manner, in FIGS. 4 to 25. The brush 4 can have a mixture of bristles of different types (different diameters, shapes, sections, elasticities, materials).

The brush may have any known external shape, obtained for example in cutting the ends of the hairs 9 with a lawn mower.

The brush according to the invention can be heavily loaded with mascara. To his contact, the base of the eyelashes itself loads strongly with mascara. When the user turns the brush 1 on itself, the eyelashes continue to be in contact with the brush over their entire length and continue to load while curving. The hairs start to comb the lashes. When the user continues to turn the brush on itself, eyelashes are supported by the hairs in an area of the helical profile, of variable orientation depending on the degree of interpenetration of the eyelashes in the brush. The product is distributed over all the circumference and along the length of each eyelash. In other words, when the make-up operation, the micro-reservoirs that constitute the throats change position relative to the eyelash to be treated, ensuring autonomy significantly improved, as well as a homogeneous coating of the eyelash.

Thus, each eyelash is loaded homogeneously, as well along its entire length only on its entire periphery. There is no difference in makeup between the eyelashes end of the eyelid and those in the middle. Eyelashes are perfectly separated from each other, elongated and bent.

In Figure 2, one can see a set of application generally designated by reference 101, having a reservoir 102 having a longitudinal axis X symmetry, and an applicator 106 provided with a grip sleeve 103. The reservoir 102, advantageously made of glass, contains a liquid product V or viscous to apply, which can be for example, a varnish composition to nails.

Le goulot 121 comporte un filetage 122, apte à coopérer avec un filetage complémentaire pratiqué à l'intérieur du manchon 103.The reservoir 102 comprises a neck 121 defining an opening 110. neck 121 has a thread 122, adapted to cooperate with a thread complementary practice inside the sleeve 103.

L'autre extrémité de la tige est solidaire du manchon 103.The sleeve 103 also comprises an application member 104 which, in the case, is formed of a brush, consisting of a tuft of hairs 109 substantially parallel, fixed to the free end 105a of a rod 105. The other end of the rod is secured to the sleeve 103.

When the application assembly is closed by screwing the sleeve 103 onto the reservoir 102, the tuft 104 of bristles 109 dipped in the product V. These hairs 109 consist of a mixture of laevorotatory and dextrorotatory hairs, such as previously defined. The hairs are more particularly chosen by the hairs shown in Figures 4 to 25.

Pour essorer le pinceau, l'utilisateur l'essuie contre le bord libre du col 121.When the user wishes to apply product 3, he unscrews the cap and pull the brush off the tank. The brush then, most often, an excess of product. To spin the brush, the user wipes it against the edge free of the collar 121.

It should be noted that the brush remains well charged and has a good power of retention of the varnish, even after several passages of spin, without training of drops. The nail polish is deposited with a speed flow rate both reduced, and substantially constant. The layer of varnish obtained is more regular, and the drying of the varnish takes place significantly faster.

L'autre extrémité de la tige 205 est fixée dans un manchon de préhension 203.In Figure 3 we see a mascara brush 206, which differs from that represented in FIG. 1 by the fact that its rod 205 is substantially flat. She has at its free end 205a a width close to that of a set 204 of hairs 209, formed in the plane of the rod 205, substantially perpendicular to an axis of the applicator 206. The bristles 209 used are of the same type than those described with reference to Figures 1 and 2. The other end of the rod 205 is fixed in a gripping sleeve 203.

The wiper element is provided with a neck 210 on which can be fixed the sleeve 203. The wiper member further comprises a shoulder 223, on which is mounted a squeezing member 208. In this case, the organ of spin is formed by an elastomer or foam membrane, having a slot 211, able to be crossed, when removing the applicator 206, by at least a portion of the rod 205 and by the assembly 204 of the bristles 209. The implantation plan of the bristles 209 can be inclined with respect to the passing plane by the rod 205.

When the applicator 206 is removed from the reservoir, the brush loaded with mascara passes through the wiper 211. This squeezes the outer face of the hair, the helicoidal profiles of the hairs holding a large reserve of product.

When the applicators covered by the invention are subjected to an operation before the product is applied, the spin is carried out "Random", that is, the distribution of the product in the helical profiles is such as micro-product reserves are present on each hair at a different level. These micro-reserves are able to ensure a very homogeneous product on the support to be treated.

Each of these figures represents a pair of hairs of the same section in a lévogyre configuration and dextrogyra. It is understood that any type of levorotatory hair can be mixed with any type of dextrorotary hair. Ribs or ridges The helical grooves are indicated by the reference N, the helical grooves being indicated by the reference G.

These bristles with a helical profile can be obtained by extrusion of a material thermoplastic through a nozzle having a suitable profile, and then twisted by twisting hot, right or left around their axis, according to the pitch and twist direction of the desired helical profile.

They may be made of polyamide (PA6, PA6 / 6, PA11, PA6 / 10, PA6 / 12), polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene / propylene copolymer, polyvinyl chloride, teflon, polyethylene terephthalate or thermoplastic elastomer. The applicators of the present invention may comprise a hair mixture twisted levorotatory and dextrorotatory of different types, as defined previously. These hairs can be mixed, also with non-hair twisted of any type, known in the state of the art.

The combination of non-cylindrical section hairs with a levogyre helical profile and dextrorotor, twisted along their axis, can significantly increase the product retention, especially in interstices formed between fur.

It is understood that the mixture of helical profile hair may comprise, in in addition, a quantity of non-twisted hairs, of section well known in the art prior. By way of example, mention may be made of circular, polygonal, flat, trilobe, tetralobe, "L", "C", "U", etc. These non-twisted hairs can be solid or hollow, for example hollow cylindrical.
