  • the total thickness of a single tab 2, including the little undeformed bumps, is of such a size as to achieve a tab-hollow coupling which is stable and snug-fitting.
  • the thickness of the tab 2 is calculated according to the thickness of the tile, so that the presence of the hollow 3 will not constitute a weakening factor (and therefore cause fragility) of the area close to the edge where the hollow 3 is afforded. If we consider the usual thickness for a ceramic tile, the tab 2 and therefore the breadth of the hollow will vary from about 1 to 4 mm.
