Definitions
- the present invention relates to a head of safety spraying, especially for spray guns high pressure spray comprising an element rotary placed in a central body and crossed by a channel having a spray orifice and a seal ensuring the seal between the rotary element and the gun.
- US Patent 3,952,955 shows a head spraying with a protective nozzle having a alignment mechanism with said head.
- US Patent 3,955,763 describes a spray nozzle intended to be fixed on the diffuser of a pistol spraying, the nozzle comprising a rotary element having the form of a ball having an orifice spraying arranged in a circular duct.
- This nozzle comprises a housing surrounding the rotary element and a sealing member placed in the housing and applying tightly against the rotating member.
- the box, the rotary element and the sealing member are assembled in a single operation by screwing on the diffuser of the spray gun.
- the user wishes change the nozzle, it must separate the diffuser nozzle from the gun and then assemble the different parts the constituent before proceeding in a single operation to reassembly of the nozzle on the gun diffuser. The user may experience difficulties when this operation, because the parts constituting the nozzle must be in an ideal position one in relation to the other before tightening the nozzle.
- US Patent 4,165,836 describes a rotary nozzle of spray comprising a cylindrical rotary element and a seal designed to prevent fluids from high pressure to flee. It includes a metallic organ bearing bearing against the rotary element and an element elastic and spaced tight between the metal element support and the spray gun diffuser, so to form a fluid seal and simultaneously ensure the function of a shock absorber protecting the metal support element against clamping forces excessive.
- the nozzle described in US Patent 4,165,836 has the same disadvantage as the nozzle described in the US Patent 3,955,763. On the other hand, the clamping nut of the nozzle is integral with it and cannot be changed.
- This nozzle is therefore intended to be mounted on a single gun type and therefore cannot be adapted on all existing pistols.
- US Patent 4,629,121 presents a nozzle with a valve. flow control closure in the form a ball, which leans at the front against surfaces of the frame.
- the ball has a transverse axis only intended to rotate the ball.
- the nozzle thus described is intended for use with garden hoses.
- US Patent 4,508,268 discloses a spray head reversible for use with pistols spraying and spraying devices for liquids such as paints, including a frame, a rotating element interchangeable placed transversely to the frame, having a finished bore in a spray opening at through which the liquid passes with an element of sliding closure in the frame which engages the element rotary and which has a communication passage between the bore of the rotary element and the source of liquid to high pressure.
- Swiss patent CH 655,867 shows us a head which has already a rotating element, this element having a circular groove.
- the central body includes a bore and between the two we can introduce a joint which presents a section which adapts to this geometric shape and which allows a rotating element to be guided, positioned and held in its cavity inside the central body.
- the heads When the heads are not reversible we have to extract their nozzles for cleaning. If they are reversible, this operation is very simple and is carried out most of the time by turning a rotary element which contains. However, it must be taken into account that the nozzles have a limited life because they are used with high pressure fluids which in large part are erosive and produce wear that changes the geometry nozzle.
- the present invention seeks to overcome these drawbacks and to offer, a head with a rotating design element extremely simple which allows to open the passage of fluid under pressure and stop it. She is self-cleaning and easily removable for changing the rotating element which contains the spray nozzle.
- the spray head for high pressure spray gun including a rotary element, having at each of its ends a circular seat, supported on seats correspondents of a central body, the seats allowing the element to rotate around an axis of rotation of the element, the central part of the element being crossed by a channel comprising a spray orifice and a gasket being placed between the rotary element and the gun, characterized in that the central part of the element rotary (1) placed between the two seats (3,4) has a spherical configuration (2) cooperating exclusively with a seal in the form of a support seat (14), whose upper part in contact with the sphere is concave so as to retain and position laterally the rotary element in the central body (1) by the pressure exerted by the support seat (14) connected to the gun under the action of the clamping adapter (19).
- the advantage is that the faults alignment between the sphere and the support seat have much less importance so than tolerances are much wider with construction according to the invention.
- the seal is a support seat stainless steel working with the party of the rotating element.
- a nylon or polyamide seal is advantageously placed between the support seat and the gun.
- the support seat has an O-ring placed in a circular groove ensuring sealing between the support seat and the central part.
- the support seat has a spring which away from the rotating element when it is separated from the pistol so that the rotating element can be extracted from the central body.
- the rotary member is connected to a handle which allows it to be turned up to a semicircle between two extreme positions, a ledge with two opposite flat surfaces associated with the handle stops against the top surface of the clamp adapter when rotating so that the two positions are fixed.
- the spray head can advantageously have a keeper around the nozzle for the protection of the user.
- This configuration has the advantage that the handle can undergo a 180 ° inversion, which allows the cleaning operation by reversing the position of the handle. Still construction allows disassembly extremely easy parts due to the fact that it is enough to unscrew the nut connecting the gun to the head to release the seal which is pushed from below by the action of the spring; the rotary element can thus be removed.
- the drawing illustrates by way of example an embodiment a spray head according to the invention.
- the rotary element 1 is composed of a central spherical part 2, and two cylindrical seats 3.4. Inside there is a spray nozzle 5 in tungsten carbide and at the end a handle 6 in molded plastic.
- the nozzle 5 of tungsten carbide which is inside the spherical part 2 of the element rotary 1 is introduced by pressure and fixed with a screw stainless steel hole 7, between nozzle 5 and screw 7 being a seal 8 made of polyamide or plastic.
- a ledge In the cylindrical part of the rotary element 1 and on the side the closer to the handle there is a ledge with two opposite flat surfaces 9.
- the rotating element 1 is introduced into a central body 10 perpendicular to its axis.
- This central body 10 has two seats 11, 12 lateral circulars to collaborate with the seats cylindrical circulars 3.4 equivalent of the element rotary 1. In its lower part it presents a larger diameter which serves as a retention rim 13.
- the central body 10 has inside a seal 14 in the form of a support seat which is cylindrical and which its upper side 15 marries the spherical shape of the central part 2 of the rotary element.
- In the base there has a seal 16 in nylon or polyamide and around from him a stainless steel O-ring 17 located between the support seat 14 and the central body 10.
- a spring 18 releases the support seat 14 from the central body 10 when the spray head is unscrewed from the gun.
- Around central body there is a clamp adapter 19 to pistol so the top 20 is flat for collaborate with the stops 9 of the rotary element.
- the clamping adapter 19 has a part machined in nut 21 to be able to screw it with a gun.
- a protective keeper 22 is placed around the nozzle 5 and has a shape 23 which embraces the central body 10, the rotary element 1 and the clamping adapter 19. It has thus an orifice 24 to allow the passage of the element rotary 1.
- the rotary element 1 is fixed in its working position by a stop 9, on the part upper 20 of the clamping adapter 19, when turns the rotary element half a turn to switch to cleaning, the stop 9 which has two opposite surfaces faces by its other side against the same upper surface 20 of the clamping adapter 19.
- the spring 18 pushes the support seat 14 so that it deviates from the spherical part 2 of the rotary element 1 so that it can be extracted without difficulty of the central body 10.
- the seal or support seat 14 is made of steel conventional stainless steel, for example easy 3003 steel. This joint is not treated, on the other hand it undergoes an operation forging using the spherical part 2 of rotary element 1.
