Definitions
- the present invention relates to improvements to the process and installation of large chemical and / or radiological decontamination ability, i.e. capable of processing at least one hundred or even a few hundred people per hour.
- the basic drawback is that the decontamination shower is carried out with water or soapy water, which is sprayed by a potato shower or sometimes by sprayers or nebulizers.
- Gold water has only a weak decontamination power and it a large amount of water is required passed on the body of a contaminated person for achieve complete elimination of contaminating substances ; if a first shower is insufficient to achieve total elimination of contamination, the person must be subjected to a second shower, which delays treatment of the following people.
- the invention proposes an advanced process and installation that remedies to the inadequacies of the current installations and which allow for effective treatment of large capacity, i.e. able to relate to at least one hundred or even several hundred people per hour.
- the shower product used in the process according to the invention no longer needs to be available in very large quantities. It is enough that the product is available in sufficient quantity to satisfy a use a few tens of liters per minute, for example 10 to 100 l / min, preferably of the order of 20 l / min.
- amphoteric nature of the product of showering which is preferably used gives this produces a universality of efficiency that allows it ensure effective decontamination whatever the nature of this contamination. This avoids the risks error that can occur in installations current, and thereby significantly accelerates the implementation in operation of the decontamination unit.
- the installation implements an active product regenerable which is amphoteric and chelating.
- an active product regenerable which is amphoteric and chelating.
- This thanks to because of the particular activity and the ability to rapidly regenerate the product work, it is possible to limit the duration (5 to 20 seconds) of individual showering of people, and practice a duration of the order of 10 seconds is revealed sufficient.
- This showering time can be made automatic, either by providing means (cells by example) controlling the starting and stopping of the shower when someone comes in the shower, then respectively leaves this one, either so much simpler by leaving the shower in permanent operation which is not a big disadvantage since the shower product is recovered, regenerated and recycled.
- the installation includes means for sterilizing the active product delivered to the shower unit and / or only downstream of the means for collecting the contaminated active product, means for filtering radioelements.
- each showering station is associated a paper and effects decontamination station personal of showered persons.
- the unit of undressing, on one side, and the dressing unit, the other side are arranged so as to substantially surround the shower unit arranged in position central, so that all the undressing stations, on one side, and all the dressing stations, on the other side, are located approximately the same distance the shower unit; desirably then, the undressing stations, on one side, and dressing, on the other side, are divided into several groups of stations aligned side by side, these groups being arranged in a concave broken line around the unit of showering.
- each shower station is of the multi-jet type spread over several columns surrounding the person showered, such a showering station can for example be of the type described in document FR 2 513 871.
- the decontamination installation includes, in position central, a shower unit 1 which is suitable for ensuring individual showering of people infected during between 5 and 20 seconds, with a product regenerable active ingredient delivered by a regeneration unit 2.
- Contaminated people are received in a stripping unit 3, located on one side of the stripping unit shower 1, which includes a plurality of stripping 4 so that given the time of stripping extremely variable depending on the state of the person (conscious or traumatized and / or injured, able-bodied or injured, young people or elderly, ...), we are however assured of continuity successive individual showers of people in the shower unit 1.
- auxiliary decontamination unit 5 individual objects (papers, jewelry, ...) of people.
- the effects removed from people are evacuated backwards (arrow 6).
- regenerable active product there will be preferably use an amphoteric and chelating product, such as in particular the known physiological solution described commercially under the name of DIPHOTERINE or its derivatives.
- the character amphoteric of the product used ensures universality of use of the installation, whatever the type of contamination and without the need to tests, adjustments and preliminary adjustments. Setting in operation of the installation can therefore be very fast.
- the unit of regeneration 2 includes a reservoir 9 containing from 100 to 1000 liters of a liquid solution 10 of the active product.
- the liquid 10, propelled by a pump 11, is preferably sterilized: this sterilization can be carried out either upstream of the tank, either downstream of it (at 12 in fig. 1) before supplying a shower unit 13 of the showering 1.
- the contaminated liquid is recovered in a way continues in collection means, for example a tank 14, from where it is taken up by a pump 15.
- a radioelements filter or trap 16 selectively set function in case of radiological contamination or put out function (short circuit 17) in other types of contamination.
- the contaminated liquid collected is returned to the tank 9 where it is mixed (mixing 18) in the active solution 10.
- the chelating nature of the product used leads to the regeneration of the liquid contaminated with contact of the uncontaminated liquid contained in the tank.
- a probe 19 is arranged in the liquid mass and the contamination rate is measured in permanence in 20.
- a supply device 21 which is capable of delivering a volume into the reservoir 9 appropriate active product (e.g. concentrated product powder or granulated) taken from a reserve 22.
- the supply of new active product remains weak: in the case of the physiological solution mentioned above, the supply of new product is limited to approximately 1.8 kg (concentrated powder) for 200 people.
- the liquid product can be heated (31) in the tank 9.
- the shower unit 1 comprises at least two shower stations 13, so as to be assured of the continuity of operation of the shower unit itself in the event that one of the shower stations becomes momentarily inactive (breakdown, person passed out, ). All the shower stations 13 are supplied individually with liquid from a single regeneration unit 2, and the effluents from these shower stations are brought back into the same tank 9 of unit 2.
- each group 23 includes several stripping stations 4 aligned side by side, and groups 23 are arranged in a concave broken line on the side of the unit shower 1, so that all shower stations are located approximately the same distance from the shower unit 1.
- an entry dispatch station 24 which may include at least one person monitoring and ordering the passage of each infected person stripped to a free shower.
- the organization of the dressing unit 7 can be planned in the same way, with the cladding 8 divided into groups 25 surrounding the unit shower 1 on the other side of it, and with a post outlet control 26 in intermediate position for regulate the flow of decontaminated people
- Each shower station 13 is preferably arranged in the form of an integral shower as illustrated in figure 4.
- the shower station 13 has a multiplicity of nozzles projection 27 vertically distributed on uprights 28 themselves arranged in number for example 3 or 4 around the tank 14, with other nozzles 27 arranged in upper part on sleepers 29.
- the nozzles can be vertically offset from each other to others by an amount 28 to another.
- a shower station thus arranged is described in detail in the document FR 2 513 871.
- Such a shower station can advantageously comprise from 20 to 30 nozzles, preferably around twenty.
- each shower station has a width of at least 0.60 m, and preferably of the order of 1.20 m, and a depth of at least 0.60 m, and preferably of the order of 0.80 m, in order to be able to to receive obese people or an adult holding a child in his arms.
- Liquid projection can be done either under form of fine jets, either in micronized form (misting): the liquid flow rate is around 10 to 100 liters / minute, on average preferably around 20 liters / minute, so decontamination is performed in a period of the order of 5 to 20 seconds, on average around 10 seconds in normal operation with physiological solution cited above.
