Definitions

  • a heated gas stream preferably an air stream
  • a heated gas stream is usually brought into contact with the laundry to be dried in order to remove moisture contained in the laundry.
  • the fluff entrained by the air flow can then disadvantageously deposit or even settle elsewhere. Therefore, fluff filter devices are usually provided, with which fluff that is carried along can be removed from the air flow. The retained lint, however, will move the filter device over time and must be removed. This is usually necessary after each drying process and has a considerable negative impact on the ease of use for the operator.
  • a lint filter device of the type mentioned at the beginning is known from FR 2 533 141 A1 in a commercial drying machine. It describes an endless circulating element, the path of which is crossed by the air flow at a first location. The circulating element also represents the filter element, is guided back on the outside of the machine and therefore does not get back into the air flow. Since the circulating element is also a filter element over its entire length, it is not only located during the process phase but always at the location of the first crossing of the air flow with the movement path.
  • a lint filter device with a circumferential filter element which can be passed in sections past a lint suction device, so that the lint accumulated on the filter element in the course of the filtering can be sucked off.
  • this publication describes, among other things, a rotatable sieve drum. In this case, however, the air flow is not only guided perpendicularly to the drum axis through the jacket surface, but is guided into the screen drum on the jacket side and out again at the end. In this way it is avoided that the air flow at any section flows through the jacket of the sieve drum from the inside to the outside and entrains fluff adhering to the outside again.
  • DE 90 00 624 U1 proposes an endless filter belt as a filter element, which however also poses the problem that when the air flow is straight, one strand of the filter belt is flowed through from outside to inside and the other strand from inside to outside and thus itself Lint that is not held back by the first strand can be put on the second strand inside.
  • applying fluff to the inside of the filter belt again has the disadvantage that it is difficult to remove fluff there, and in particular that in this case the fluff has to be removed from both the inside and the outside and thus a more complex device is required.
  • a textile cleaning system with a lint filter in which a single-layer filter layer is flowed through from below by the air stream to be cleaned and in which a slide is moved back and forth on the filter layer at the bottom, which pushes the lint accumulated there, so they're in a bin falling off.
  • a complex linear guide of a slider is disadvantageously necessary, with the slider alone not being able to safely remove the fluff from the filter surface, but still requiring the participation of the very low weight force with fluff.
  • a laundry dryer is known from US Pat. No. 2,886,900, in which the air flow flows into a filter drum on one end face and flows out on the jacket side.
  • the fluff lying on the inside of the drum jacket is conveyed axially to the end face opposite the air inlet by a screw-shaped slide.
  • a screw-shaped slide In addition to the complex screw-shaped slide, a disadvantageously complex and, under certain circumstances, space-consuming air guidance in the angle is required.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a lint filter device in which the lint filtered out can be removed from the filter with simple means, the space requirement kept small and in which the air flow can be passed straight through the filter element.
  • this object is achieved in a lint filter device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the circulating element has a second section which is located in the process phase at the location of a second intersection of the air flow with the movement path of the circulating element in the direction of the air flow behind the location of the first intersection and which is sufficiently large-meshed that no or little fluff remains on it.
  • the air flow can in this way be passed straight through the filter device with the circulating element, the lint, which cannot be retained by the filter element already at the location of the first intersection, from getting caught on the inside of the circulating element at the location of the second intersection.
  • the fluff therefore advantageously only has to be removed from one side of the circulating element, so that the outlay for the device required for this is low.
  • encircling elements have the advantage that, in the case of rigid encircling elements, rotary bearings are sufficient or, in the case of flexible encircling elements, in particular rotatably mounted deflection bodies, which are considerably more advantageous than bearings for linear movements.
  • the filter element should cover the entire cross-section of the air flow in the filter position so that no fluff can get past the side. Since the filter element at least partially releases the air flow when the filter element is guided past the device for removing the lint, the lint should be removed in operating phases of the tumble dryer in which there are either no lint in the air flow or in which no air flow is generated, so that no fluff is carried. This can be at the end of a drying process, for example.
  • the section of the circulating element which is in the filter phase at the location of the second intersection between air flow and movement path, can be provided, for example, with large openings through which fluff can pass without getting caught.
  • the section can be designed, for example, as a wide-mesh network or grid, the elements between the meshes being particularly thin and smooth, so that no fluff is caught on them.
  • a single large opening can also be provided, which extends for example over almost the entire width of the circulating element and is only delimited on the sides by thin edge strips or cords which close the circulating element.
  • the device for removing lint from the surface of the filter element is advantageously a scraper. This can be set up easily and without moving parts. In this way, the fluff can be removed simply by moving the circulating element.
  • the wiper guides lint removed from the surface of the filter element as it passes, into a collecting container. The removal of the fluff and its transport into a collecting container can therefore be carried out in one operation.
  • a collecting container in which the lint can be collected can also be provided in other types of devices for removing lint. The capacity of the collecting container can be chosen so large that it only has to be emptied at longer intervals.
  • the lint removed from the filter element can also be rinsed out with a liquid from the tumble dryer, in particular into a waste water connection.
  • the condensate obtained can be used as the rinsing liquid.
  • the circulating element can be a band.
  • the belt can be held by deflection devices for storage.
  • the deflection devices can be rollers, rollers or, in the simplest case, rods on which the belt slides and which are advantageously provided with a low-friction surface.
  • the belt can also be driven in the circumferential direction with rotatable deflection devices, wherein at least one rotatable deflection device can be provided for driving and simple non-rotatable deflection devices can be provided for further mounting. Nevertheless, the belt can also be driven in the direction of rotation by devices that are not used for deflecting or holding.
  • the drive for the circulating element can be controlled by a control device for the household clothes dryer.
  • the circulating element can also be a rotatable drum. This can be easily stored with one or two rotary bearings, and the drive can be carried out via the axis of rotation.
  • FIG. 1 and 2 schematically show a side sectional view through a fluff filter device 1 according to the invention for an air stream S carrying fluff 5, 5 'in a household clothes dryer.
  • an air flow S is usually generated and passed over the laundry to be dried, which draws moisture from the laundry and can entrain fluff 5, 5 'which settle elsewhere can and must therefore be removed.
  • the air flow S enters the lint filter device 1 from the right and is guided horizontally and straight in an air duct 8.
  • a band-like circulating element 2 runs across the entire cross section of the air duct 8 and is held and tensioned by two deflection devices 9 and the sections of which are just tensioned are held essentially perpendicular to the air flow S.
  • the deflection device 9 can rotate, at least one of which can be driven in the direction of rotation.
  • a scraper 6 is arranged in such a way that its knife-like upper edge is just above the surface of the circulating element 2.
  • the profile of the scraper 6 runs from the upper edge to a lower edge which ends above a collecting container 7 which is open at the top and which can be removed outside the household clothes dryer.
  • the wiper 6 extends perpendicular to the plane of the drawing parallel to the lower deflection device 9 over the entire width of the circulating element 2 which is exposed to the air flow.
  • the rotating element 2 shows the lint filter device 1 during the cleaning phase, in which advantageously no air flows through the lint filter device 1.
  • the rotating element 2 is moved in the rotating direction by rotating one or both deflection devices 9, so that the filter element 3 is guided past the scraper 6.
  • the fluff 5 is lifted from the surface of the filter element 3 by the stripper 6 and passed into the collecting container 7.
  • the rotational movement of the deflection devices 9 is reversed, so that the filter element 3 returns to its filter position.
  • the collecting container 7 is dimensioned so large that it can accommodate the fluff 5, which accumulate during a series of drying processes, so that it does not have to be emptied after each drying process.
