Nachteilig ist hierbei jedoch, daß Verunreinigungen, beispielsweise in Form von Farbresten im Bereich der Registerstifte und/oder den Ausstanzungen, den Stromfluß unterbinden können, so daß eine registergerechte Lage der Druckplatte nicht erfaßbar ist. Device for controlling the in-register position of printing plates on the plate cylinder of printing presses, in particular sheet-fed offset printing presses, having a fastening apparatus for the leading edge of the printing plate, the printing plate having a U-shaped stamped-out portion on the leading edge, which U-shaped stamped-out portion can be brought into contact with a stop which is attached to the plate cylinder, and having a signal generator which senses the position of the printing plate in the fastening apparatus, characterized in that the leading edge of the printing plate (1) can be sensed by the signal generator (8) outside the stamped-out portion (6, 7) which interacts with the stop (4, 5), it being possible for a signal to be received from the signal generator (8) if the stamped-out portion (6, 7) is at a predefined minimum spacing (a, b) from the stop (4, 5).
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that, in the case of two stops (4, 5) which are spaced apart axially from one another, the signal generator is arranged centrally between the stops (4, 5).
  3. Device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the signal generator (8) is attached to the fastening apparatus (3).
  4. Device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the signal generator (8) is arranged outside the plate cylinder (1) and can be set against the plate cylinder (1) in the position which is provided for feeding of the printing plate (1).
  5. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the signal generator (8) is configured as a distance sensor which determines the presence of the printing plate (1) in a measuring region.
  6. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the signal generator (8) is configured as a sensor which interacts with the printing plate (1) without contact.
  7. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the signal from the signal generator (8) is checked for changes within a predefinable time interval by an evaluation unit (10) which is connected after the signal generator (8).
