Definitions
- the present invention is a high-temperature stable blowing agent.
- Propellant charge the propellant from the group of nitrate esters z.
- nitrocellulose are thermally unstable.
- nitramines such as.
- As hexogen, octogen or nitro compounds such as TNT, however, are thermally stable.
- TNT nitrocellulose
- each propellant for the particular application must have a precisely matched gas production rate.
- the known propellant charge powders based on a nitrocellulose matrix the geometry and thus the Abbrandober Assembly is varied.
- the burning rate of the material itself is variable only within a limited range. If the geometry has to be kept constant for certain reasons, for example in caseless telescope cartridges, in igniter transducers, in combustible carrier components or similar components, it is almost always necessary to adapt the burning rate to the requirements.
- the choice of the binder (energetic or inert) or the porosity makes it possible to adjust the burning rate in a much wider range than in the case of conventional NC-based blowing agents.
- energetic binders With energetic binders, the burning rate can not be lowered sufficiently. This is possible with a high proportion of inert binders, however the energy balance and the tendency to ignite deteriorates, since a fairly high proportion of binders, usually over 15% by weight, is necessary for adequate phlegmatization.
- phlegmatized systems have already been used for so-called LOVA applications.
- the nitramine / binder combinations used have u.a.
- the explosive content can not be increased above 86%, otherwise the detonationsDuen properties outweigh. If you fall below this value clearly, the performance of the propellant decreases rapidly. The required power is so u.U. no longer guarantee.
- the proportion of binder or unphlegmatized explosive is varied. If, for example, for gun technical reasons, the burning rate must be lowered, this is done by increasing the inert content. In this case, however, the reduction of the sensitiveness is to be accepted. The energy balance of the propellant is also degraded.
- the object of the present invention was to provide a blowing agent which does not have the disadvantages of the blowing agents known from the prior art.
- a blowing agent which contains a nitramine such as hexogen or oxogen, a phlegmatizing binder and a nitro compound such as nitroguanidine.
- a nitramine such as hexogen or oxogen
- a phlegmatizing binder and a nitro compound such as nitroguanidine.
- the solution according to the invention provides for a propellant in which the burning rate can be varied within a very wide range (ratio 10: 1) without changing the binder content or the porosity.
- the blowing agent according to the invention is thermally more stable, has a largely variable burning rate and a sufficiently high ignitability.
- nitro compounds which can be used according to the invention are guanidine, triazole or tetrazole derivatives, preferably nitroguanidine and guanidine nitrate or mixtures thereof, particularly preferably nitroguanidine.
- the invention it is provided to reduce the burning rate of the blowing agent known per se, consisting of nitramines with phlegmatizing binders, by adding the nitro compounds provided according to the invention, without significantly impairing the energy balance.
- nitro compounds from the group of guanidine, triazole and / or tetrazole derivatives are thermally extremely stable, have a very low vivacity and are much less explosive than the other, the group of nitramines belonging explosives.
- the solution according to the invention provides for adding the propellants of nitramine-binder mixtures known per se to the nitro compounds provided according to the invention.
- the proportion to be admixed can be up to 90% by weight, preferably from 5 to 90% by weight, particularly preferably from 15 to 85% by weight.
- the proportion of the invention can be used nitro compounds is varied.
- compositions which consist exclusively of the nitro compounds and binders provided according to the invention are also possible to use.
- any desired burnup rate can be adjusted by admixing the nitro compounds provided for the invention with the phlegmatized nitramine blowing agent since the nitro compounds provided according to the invention themselves have a low burning rate due to the low energy balance in comparison to the other nitramines.
- the nitro compounds provided according to the invention have a positive partial heat of explosion and thus scarcely impair the energy balance of the overall composition.
- the nitro compounds according to the invention do not have to be phlegmatized because of their low risk of explosion, they improve the ignitability of the overall composition.
- the addition of the inventively provided nitro compounds serves as a binder additive.
- the binder content of a per se known propellant based on nitramines can thus be reduced.
- a binder content of 5 to 9% is generally sufficient in the blowing agents according to the invention.
- the binder content can be further reduced.
- Decisive is a sufficient strength of the propellant. The burning properties are thereby significantly improved.
- the otherwise associated with the use of inert binders bad oxygen balance is thus brought to a level that is common in classical NC propellants (about -40%).
- the negative oxygen balance is more favorable without the need for additional burn-off moderators or oxygen suppliers such as perchlorates.
- the nitro compounds provided according to the invention reduce the detonation, friction and impact sensitivity of the overall composition.
- nitro compounds own low heat of explosion can be compensated in pipe weapons by a high loading density.
- a charge density of between 1.2 and 1.5 g / cm 3 can be provided.
- the inventively provided nitro compounds also the explosion temperature of the total composition is reduced, which affects the pipe erosion low.
- the blowing agents according to the invention can be processed into propellant charge bodies which are suitable for various uses. Because of the great variability of the burning rate, the propellant charge bodies made from the blowing agent of the invention can be adjusted in an excellent manner to the required gas production rate. A property that is severely limited in the known propellants. In classical NC bound propellants, the gas production rate becomes almost exclusively via geometry controlled (propellant powder: (TLP) wall thickness). In the known nitramine-binder combinations, depending on the type of binder, different gas production rates are obtained, but these can only be made variable within a small range. For a given geometry of the TLP body so that the range of application of the known propellant is limited.
- the propellant of the invention can be pressed in a conventional manner to propellant charge body.
- a propellant charge body which burns off after firing by a booster charge radially from inside to outside, can preferably be constructed so that the inner layer burns much slower than the outer layer.
- This can be achieved by a layered structure when pressing the propellant charge body or by the use of a combustible sleeve which burns faster than the propellant charge itself.
- heterogeneous structure is achieved that at the beginning, the gas supply rate is low and increased with increasing burnup when the cargo space volume has increased due to the projectile movement. The result is an increase in cartridge performance, an increase in progressiveness.
- FIG. 1 the influence of the admixture of nitroguanidine on the burning rate of a consisting of 15% polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) coated hexogen propellant body is shown.
- PMMA acts as a binder.
- blowing agents according to the invention can be used in cartridges, ignition elements, propellants or in other propellant charge bodies.

Description
- In
