Definitions
- the invention relates to a stackable packaging made of foamed material, which has an upper and a lower stacking edge.
- Stackable packaging is usually a container for certain items. For space-saving storage and transport, these packages are placed on top of one another with their side or outer walls.
- the stacking edges must be able to absorb the loads that occur, i.e. the pressure load caused by the weight of the loaded containers as well as lateral forces. In addition, punctual loads can result during the stacking process, through which damage can occur.
- the stack edges are therefore usually the most stressed areas of the stack packaging and their durability thus essentially determines the service life of the entire stack packaging. This service life should be as long as possible, since such stacking containers are to be used as often as reusable containers.
- reinforcement profiles have already been provided, which are usually placed on the upper edge of the stack. Damage can thus be avoided and a longer service life can be achieved even under high loads.
- Reinforcement profiles on the one hand, require an increased outlay due to their manufacture and, on the other hand, due to the necessary assembly on the stacking container. During assembly, the reinforcement profiles must be cut to length and then placed on the four stacking edges. To secure the connection, the reinforcement profiles are locked and / or glued to the stack edge. In order to maintain a predetermined outline profile of the stack edge when the reinforcement profile is attached, the stack edge must have recesses corresponding to the thickness of the reinforcement profiles, which, however, lead to weaknesses in certain areas, in particular due to the notch effect, and thus to an increased risk of breakage.
- the object of the present invention is a stackable packaging to create the type mentioned above, the stacking edges especially in the area of the contacting surfaces have a good stability, the manufacturing effort is reduced overall.
- a one-piece material compression zone extending over a partial area of the respective wall cross section is provided with a higher specific density than the neighboring material of the packaging.
- This material compression zone can be introduced with little effort in the production of the packaging, in particular from particle foam, by applying increased temperature and pressure to the area to be reinforced than in the remaining area of the packaging. It is also advantageous that no reworking is necessary in the stack edge area after the packaging has been removed from the mold, so that the production outlay is correspondingly reduced.
- the one-piece construction of the compression zone with the remaining, adjacent wall material of the packaging means that there is no notch effect and therefore no material weakening.
- the shape, the extension areas and the degree of stiffening can be freely selected within wide limits. This is possible due to variations in the application area within the mold, in which work is carried out with increased pressure and temperature.
- the degree of stiffening can also be controlled via the depth or thickness of the compression zone, which in turn can be changed by appropriate temperature / pressure and the duration of action.
- the compression zone can extend from the outer surface to a wall depth of up to 2 mm and preferably over a wall depth range of approximately 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm. Practical tests have shown that comparatively thin outer layers as compression zones with a thickness of a few tenths of a millimeter are sufficient to achieve a high stabilization effect.
- the thickness of the compression zone can also be, for example, 1 mm.
- the compression zone is preferably provided all around the stack edge. This not only results in a higher compressive strength that better absorbs the stack pressure, but the stability of the stack edge with regard to lateral compressive and tensile stress is also significantly improved by the then existing ring composite.
- An advantageous embodiment of the invention is one Packing provided that an outer wall with an underside Stacking edge overlay has side stops on the inside are provided, stacked adjacent to one another Packaging with the top edge of the lower packaging and the lower side of the top packaging is on top of each other and the side stops in this stack position on the inside next to the top edge of the bottom package.
- the one compression zone bearing surface of the top edge at least over a portion of their transverse extent to the inner side stop side is increasing and that the underside Edition has an approximately corresponding counter-shaping.
- the free upper end of the outer wall is thus held in a form-fitting manner both with a transverse load inwards and outwards, so that overall an increased stacking stability is achieved. It is particularly advantageous if the top-side contact surface extends over the entire width of the outer wall and if the inside side stops are located next to the contact surface. The contact surface is thus practically continuously smooth, so that it is particularly easy to keep clean. In addition, simple manufacture is also possible as a result, and finally the greatest possible compressive strength is available, since the entire wall cross-section is available as a support surface. In conjunction with the one-piece compression zone (s) provided for stabilization in the support area or areas, the packaging is very stable and durable with a simple construction and simple shape.
- FIG. 1 two containers 1, shown only partially and in section, are stacked one above the other as stackable packaging.
- the containers 1 have an outer wall 2, in particular a circumferential wall, which has an upper and a lower stack edge 3 and 4.
- the upper stack edge 3 has an approximately Z-shaped cross section with two height-offset support surfaces 5 and 6 and a side abutment surface 7 connecting these two support surfaces.
- the lower stack edge 4 is shaped essentially complementary to it, so that the upper and lower stack edges interlock when containers 1 are stacked one on top of the other and are secured against lateral displacement.
- the upper stacking edge and / or the lower stacking edge see FIGS.
- the compression zone 8 forms an outer layer, which can have a thickness d of a few tenths of a millimeter. It therefore extends only over a partial area of the respective wall cross section.
- the areal extent of the compression zone 8 can be limited to the area of the contacting contact surfaces if the primary concern is to increase the pressure resistance, including the punctual pressure resistance.
- the compression zone 8 preferably extends, as shown in the exemplary embodiments, over a height range of a few centimeters, for example over about 5 centimeters. This also stabilizes the entire edge, so that it is also more resistant to lateral tensile and compressive loads.
- the compression zone 8 can also extend over the entire outer wall, so that overall a higher punctual load capacity is achieved. This reduces the risk of damage and, overall, increases the service life of the packaging. It should also be mentioned that such stabilization makes sense especially in the area of the top of the stack 3, since this generally has no support towards the inside. In contrast, the lower edge of the stack 4 is connected directly to the bottom part 9, so that material compression zones arranged here can actually be limited to the contacting contact area, as indicated in FIGS. 2 and 3.
- the material compression zone (s) 8 are characterized by a thermodynamic Process generated, being in the areas where a Compression zone is provided, a higher temperature and Pressurization during molding takes place as in the neighboring ones Areas where a lower specific density of the same Material should be achieved.
- a thermodynamic Process generated, being in the areas where a Compression zone is provided, a higher temperature and Pressurization during molding takes place as in the neighboring ones Areas where a lower specific density of the same Material should be achieved.
- Fig. 2 shows a partial cross section of a container 1a, in the Inside a floor profiling 10 is provided, which also have a material compression zone 8 on its surface.
- a material compression zone 8 on its surface.
- the floor profiling 10 shown for example for recording of individual objects or edges of these objects also stack domes or other shaped receptacles are provided be to increase their resilience also with compression zones 8 can be provided.
- the entire inside surface of the container 1, 1a to be provided with a compression zone 8 in order to practically non-porous surface, for example for hygienic reasons to obtain.
- the lower stack edge 4a has a support 11 on the underside, adjacent to which on the inside are side stops 12 by a bottom part 9 projecting downwards.
- the upper stack edge 3a has outside and inside on the outside up to the upper bearing surface 13, whereby it can be seen that the upper bearing surface extends obliquely upwards over its transverse extent to the inner side stop side.
- the underside support 11 has an essentially corresponding counter-shaping.
- the upper wall end or the upper stack edge 3a is held in a form-fitting manner even when the wall 2 is loaded to the outside. This results in a higher stack stability and a better stack composite. Due to the oblique course of the support surface 13 and the approximately complementary shape of the support 11 on the underside, there is no longer any possibility of an escape to the outside for the free end of the outer wall, because this creates a positive connection. Both the upper stack edge 3a and the lower stack edge 4a are each provided with material compression zones 8, through which additional stabilization is provided.
- the upper-side support surface 13 and the approximately complementary, lower-side support 11 have an oblique angle of a few degrees, for example about 5 °.
- the oblique angle of the underside support 11 is larger than that of the upper-side support 13.
- the difference angle can be approximately 1 °. This has the effect that when the containers are loaded and their base parts 9 are deflected accordingly, which also changes the position of the respective underside supports 11, they come to rest flat on the respective support surface 13.
- the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 combines with simple shaping the advantage of high stability in the contact areas through the material compression zones 8.
- the practically continuously smooth contact surface 13 provides the greatest possible pressure resistance, since the entire wall cross-section is available as a contact surface . Another advantage is that the smooth surface is easy to keep clean.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a stackable packaging made of foamed material, which has an upper and a lower stacking edge.
Stackable packaging is usually a container for certain items. For space-saving storage and transport, these packages are placed on top of one another with their side or outer walls. The stacking edges must be able to absorb the loads that occur, i.e. the pressure load caused by the weight of the loaded containers as well as lateral forces. In addition, punctual loads can result during the stacking process, through which damage can occur. The stack edges are therefore usually the most stressed areas of the stack packaging and their durability thus essentially determines the service life of the entire stack packaging. This service life should be as long as possible, since such stacking containers are to be used as often as reusable containers.
Therefore, reinforcement profiles have already been provided, which are usually placed on the upper edge of the stack. Damage can thus be avoided and a longer service life can be achieved even under high loads.
Reinforcement profiles, on the one hand, require an increased outlay due to their manufacture and, on the other hand, due to the necessary assembly on the stacking container.
The object of the present invention is a stackable packaging to create the type mentioned above, the stacking edges especially in the area of the contacting surfaces have a good stability, the manufacturing effort is reduced overall.
verbessert. To solve this problem, it is proposed that, at least in the area of the support surface of the upper stack edge, a one-piece material compression zone extending over a partial area of the respective wall cross section is provided with a higher specific density than the neighboring material of the packaging. This material compression zone can be introduced with little effort in the production of the packaging, in particular from particle foam, by applying increased temperature and pressure to the area to be reinforced than in the remaining area of the packaging. It is also advantageous that no reworking is necessary in the stack edge area after the packaging has been removed from the mold, so that the production outlay is correspondingly reduced. The one-piece construction of the compression zone with the remaining, adjacent wall material of the packaging means that there is no notch effect and therefore no material weakening. It is also advantageous that the shape, the extension areas and the degree of stiffening can be freely selected within wide limits. This is possible due to variations in the application area within the mold, in which work is carried out with increased pressure and temperature. The degree of stiffening can also be controlled via the depth or thickness of the compression zone, which in turn can be changed by appropriate temperature / pressure and the duration of action.
The compression zone can extend from the outer surface to a wall depth of up to 2 mm and preferably over a wall depth range of approximately 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm. Practical tests have shown that comparatively thin outer layers as compression zones with a thickness of a few tenths of a millimeter are sufficient to achieve a high stabilization effect. Depending on the desired strength and, for example, punctual load capacity, the thickness of the compression zone can also be, for example, 1 mm.
The compression zone is preferably provided all around the stack edge.
This not only results in a higher compressive strength that better absorbs the stack pressure, but the stability of the stack edge with regard to lateral compressive and tensile stress is also significantly improved by the then existing ring composite.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is one Packing provided that an outer wall with an underside Stacking edge overlay has side stops on the inside are provided, stacked adjacent to one another Packaging with the top edge of the lower packaging and the lower side of the top packaging is on top of each other and the side stops in this stack position on the inside next to the top edge of the bottom package. At Such packaging is provided that the one compression zone bearing surface of the top edge at least over a portion of their transverse extent to the inner side stop side is increasing and that the underside Edition has an approximately corresponding counter-shaping.
The free upper end of the outer wall is thus held in a form-fitting manner both with a transverse load inwards and outwards, so that overall an increased stacking stability is achieved.
Additional embodiments of the invention are in the others Subclaims listed.
Fig. 2 und
In Fig. 1, two containers 1, shown only partially and in section, are stacked one above the other as stackable packaging. The containers 1 have an

Fig. 2 shows a partial cross section of a
Fig. 3 zeigt schließlich noch Behälter 1b, deren Stapelränder 3a,
