Abstract
Description
wherein, at least when the smoke emission has started, fresh air is introduced through several nozzles (11) at spaced apart locations within the closed room (1); so that a continuous zone comprising fresh air is formed, which zone may be used for rescuing work, and characterised in that an amount of water is also introduced and is atomized from and close to, preferably above, the zone where fresh air is introduced.

Claims (9)
- A method for facilitating rescuing work in and evacuating of people from closed rooms, such as tunnels or corridors (1), in particular during fire conditions and smoke emission, wherein at least when the smoke emission has started, fresh air is introduced through several nozzles (11) at spaced apart locations within the closed room (1); so that a continuous zone comprising fresh air is formed, which zone may be used for rescuing work, and characterised in that an amount of water is also introduced and is atomized from and close to, preferably above, the zone where fresh air is introduced.
- A method according to claim 1, in which the air flow or the water flow passing through the respective nozzles (11, 9), is also used for operation of dynamos supplying current to emergency lamps (7).
- A method according to claim 1 or 2, in which the air and/or the water passing through their respective nozzles (11, 9) out in the room (1), is used to operate fans (13).
- A system adapted for facilitating evacuation of people from closed rooms such as tunnels or corridors (1), in particular during fire conditions and smoke emission, the system comprising pipe means (6), said pipe means being provided with a plurality of nozzles or openings (11) arranged at predetermined intervals along the pipe means (6) through which air may be emitted from the pipe means (6) and into the room (1) so that smoke is displaced from the pipe means' (6) close surroundings sufficiently to allow breathing and seeing during the evacuation process, the system also comprising means for supplying and introducing air through said pipe means (6) from an exterior source into the room (1) at a certain over-pressure, and further characterized in that means are provided for introducing an amount of water and atomizing said water from and close to, preferably above, the zone where air is introduced.
- A system according to claim 4, in which pressure operated lamps (7) are associated with the pipe means (6).
- A system according to any one of the claims 4 or 5, in which pressure operated fans (13) are associated with the pipe means (6).
- A system according to any one of the claims 4 to 6, in which water supply conduits (8) provided with atomizing nozzles (9) directed outwards into the room (1), are associated to the pipe means (6), e.g. alongside or within the pipe means.
- A system according to any one of the claims 4 to 7, in which the pipe means (6) along a shorter or longer distance has such a large cross section area that persons may move within or stay within the tube (6); as the pipe means at these locations is provided with at least one entrance air lock.
- A system according to any one of the claims 4 to 8, in which deployable smoke curtains (12) are arranged associated with or close to the pipe means (6).
