Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector with a Stekkerkopf and a screwed into this hollow screw.
- Such a connector is in the non-prepublished German patent application 197 38 733.0 described.
- This connector needs, in contrast to connectors according to the prior art, for example after the DE-C-27 24 862 not to be disassembled before mounting on the cable. Rather, the connector can be delivered pre-assembled so that it must be pushed only to the usual prepared cable end to the stop. Then the installer only needs to screw the hollow screw in the Stekkerkopf until a prescribed tightening torque is reached, indicating that the desired clamping of the cable outer conductor has occurred. If desired, the installer can disassemble the connector by completely unscrewing the banjo bolt from the plug head.
- the path that the hollow screw then has to travel when screwing into the AufEnglishung of the plug head to the clamping of the cable outer conductor, is the clamping path.
- This has two sections, the first of which corresponds to the preassembled state of the connector and the second whose final assembly on the cable. Since it is important for proper mounting that the connector is in its factory pre-assembled state when pushed onto the cable end, it has a device that can detect the end of the first and thus the beginning of the second section of the clamping path.
- a thread of the hollow screw in two approximately equal sections dividing annular groove is proposed, in which a second, thin O-ring is arranged.
- FR 2 682 819 discloses a connector with a plug head, a banjo bolt and a contact sleeve, which is designed for a ring-waved coaxial cable. This connector must be disassembled for assembly. An O-ring is provided for sealing between the banjo bolt and the plug head.
- the invention has for its object to reduce the axial length of the connector of the introductory genus specified.
- the device which divides the clamping path of the hollow screw into two sections consists of the sealing O-ring, which is arranged so that it at the end of the first Spannwegabiteses runs on the cable-side end edge of the plug head and that the recess (51) of the plug head (5) cable side has a innenwindinded section with an inner diameter which is greater than the outer diameter of the hollow screw (7) in the region of its thread (72).
- the essence of the invention is therefore to dispense with the second, thin O-ring and instead to use the already existing, first O-ring not only for sealing between hollow screw and plug head but also as a means for marking the correct pre-assembly state.
- This seemingly simple design of the connector has a number of advantages, which essentially result from the fact that the required thread length of the hollow screw decreases in comparison to the construction described in the introduction to about half. This reduces the overall length of the hollow screw, accordingly that of the plug head and as a result the overall length of the connector as a whole. This in turn leads to a considerable saving in material and production time and to a time savings in the assembly of the connector on the cable, because the number of rotations of the hollow screw until reaching the clamping state is approximately halved.
- the invention further relates to a connector with a plug head and a auffanbaren on this cap sleeve.
- a connector is shown in Figs. 9 and 10 of the unpublished German patent application 198 46 440.1 shown. It offers the same mounting advantages as the German patent application mentioned above 197 38 733.0 described connector, but includes only a single O-ring for sealing the annular gap between the plug head and the cap sleeve, because the outline of the clamping path in two sections by the interaction of the internal thread of the cap sleeve interrupting, non-threaded portion and a maximum of the same length as this threaded section having male threaded portion of the plug head is realized.
- This connector therefore also builds comparatively long.
- the device which divides the tension of the cap sleeve in two sections, from the sealing O-ring exists, on which the plug-side end edge of the cap sleeve runs up at the end of the first Spannwegabiteses.
- the bore of the hollow screw and the cap sleeve on the inside has a radially recessed shoulder, which forms a stop for a collar of the contact sleeve and in the preassembled state of the connector, the displacement of the contact sleeve so limited that between the annular surface or the cone ring surface and the segments of the contact sleeve an insertion gap for the end of the cable outer conductor remains (claim 3).
- the displacement of the contact sleeve during the placement of the connector on the cable limiting collar can, based on the axial length of the contact sleeve, are mounted so that the already existing, reentrant shoulder of the hollow screw or the cap sleeve fulfills the stop function, so no separate processing step the hollow screw or the cap sleeve to produce a further shoulder is necessary.
- the re-entrant shoulder of the hollow screw and the cap sleeve is an annular shoulder whose plug-side end face at the end of the second Spannwegabiteses the clamping force on formed on the plug-side ends of the segments of the contact sleeve mating surfaces transfers (claim 4).
- Fig. 1 to 3 only the interest here, cable-side part of the first embodiment of the connector is shown.
- Fig. 4 shows the complete connector, the plug-side part of the plug head is only an arbitrary, not interesting here embodiment.
- the connector shown with the exception of the improvements proposed by the invention is largely identical to that in the German patent application 197 38 733.0 illustrated and explained connectors.
- Fig. 1 shows the plug head 5 with a held on a plastic disk, not shown plug inner conductor 4.
- the plug head 5 has at its cable end a recess 51 which terminates at a conical annular surface 52 and is provided with an internal thread 53.
- the recess 51 is intended to receive a contact sleeve 6, which is designed in the manner of a collet chuck and which is divided from its plug-side end outgoing, axial slots 61 into resilient segments 62, which have thickenings 63 at their free end.
- the contact sleeve 6 At its opposite, cable-side end 64, the contact sleeve 6 has a slightly larger outer diameter than in the region of its resilient segments 62. In the amount of federden segments 62, the contact sleeve 6 has a (interrupted by the slots 61) annular collar 65, see. Detail "X".
- the contact sleeve 6 is inserted under compression of the resilient segments 62 in a hollow screw 7 of the cable end side.
- the hollow screw 7 has near its plug-side end a re-entrant annular shoulder 71, the plug-side annular end face 71 a, see.
- Detail "X" intended to cooperate with corresponding mating surfaces on the thickenings 63 of the ends of the resilient segments 62, while their cable-side, annular end face 71b acts as a stop for the annular collar 65 of the contact sleeve 6 and the displacement of the latter in the direction of the mating side of the connector limited.
- the hollow screw 7 further has an external thread 72 which terminates in an annular groove 73, which is followed in the direction of the screw head 75, a smooth portion 74 whose diameter is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the recess 51 in the cable side of the internal thread 53 lying section is.
- annular groove 73 is an O-ring. 8
- Fig. 2 is the hollow screw 7 so far screwed into the plug head 5, that the O-ring 8 has just accumulated on the chamfered, cable-side end edge of the plug head 5.
- the first threads of the external thread 72 of the hollow screw 7 engage in the first thread of the internal thread 53 of the plug head 5 a.
- This position of the hollow screw 7 relative to the plug head 5, by a noticeable increase in the torque required for further screwing the hollow screw 7 is marked, marked the end of the first clamping path and thus also the beginning of the second clamping path of the hollow screw 7.
- the connector is usually off or delivered for assembly.
- Fig. 3 is like in Fig. 2 shown preassembled connector on the suitably prepared end of a ring waveguide outer conductor 3 of a conventional coaxial cable with dielectric 2 and tubular inner conductor 1 is pushed, uzw. so far until the end edge 31 of the cable outer conductor 3 has advanced the contact sleeve 6 in the position shown, in which the annular collar 65 of the contact sleeve 6 abuts against the annular shoulder 71 of the hollow screw 7, so that the segments 62 of the contact sleeve 6 through the end edge 31 of Cable outer conductor 3 are pressed apart and the end portion 32 inevitably passes into the gap s between the conical ring surface 52 and the complementary thereto complementary mating surfaces of the thickenings 63 at the ends of the resilient segments 62.
- Fig. 5 shows a second embodiment of the connector in the final assembled state.
- This second embodiment largely corresponds to the first embodiment according to FIGS FIGS. 1 to 4 , with the proviso that the interception and contact similar to that from DE-A-43 44 328 is known known.
- the reference numerals have the same meaning as in the FIGS. 1 to 4 except in the area of the interception and contacting of the cable outer conductor 3 to or with the plug head 5.
- the recess 51 of the plug head 5 has in this embodiment, instead of the conical ring surface 53 (see, eg Fig. 1 ) located substantially in a radial plane annular surface 54, against which the flange-shaped end portion 33 of the cable outer conductor 3 is braced.
- This flange-like end portion 33 is formed during the screwing of the hollow screw 7 by the distance of the second portion of the clamping path in the recess 51 of the plug head 5 by itself, because the here formed in a radial plane end surfaces formed thickenings 63 at the ends of the resilient segments 62 of Contact sleeve 6 come in the not shown, the Fig. 3 corresponding preassembly state to lie in the first trough of the cable outer conductor 3.
- the end portion of the outer cable conductor is deformed in a single flange outward manner.
- the dowel-shaped screw-shaped deformation of the end region 33 of the cable outer conductor 3 is formed when the hollow screw 7 is screwed in over the length of the second tensioning section.
- the interaction of the annular collar has 65 of the contact sleeve 6 with the annular shoulder 71 of the hollow screw 7 in Vormontageschreib ensured that between the contacting annular surface 54 and the opposite surfaces of the thickenings 63 a gap for receiving the end portion 33 of the cable outer conductor 3 remains.
- FIG. 6 shows the plug head 5 'with an external thread 53', to which an annular groove 55 'connects, in which an O-ring 8' is located.
- Fig. 6 shows the plug head 5 'with an external thread 53', to which an annular groove 55 'connects, in which an O-ring 8' is located.
- On its cable-side end face of the plug head 5 ' has a cone ring surface 52'.
- On the plug head 5 ' is a cap sleeve 7' with internal thread 72 'screwed so far that their plug-side end edge on the O-ring 8' accumulated.
- the cap sleeve 7 ' has a re-entrant annular shoulder 71' and encloses a contact sleeve 6 ', which has the same structure as the contact sleeve 6, for example in Fig. 1 Has.
- the assembly process proceeds, as based on the FIGS. 1 to 4 described.
- the final assembled state is in Fig. 7 shown.

Description
The invention relates to a connector with a Stekkerkopf and a screwed into this hollow screw.
The invention has for its object to reduce the axial length of the connector of the introductory genus specified.
This object is achieved in that in the connector with the features specified in claim 1, the device which divides the clamping path of the hollow screw into two sections, consists of the sealing O-ring, which is arranged so that it at the end of the first Spannwegabschnittes runs on the cable-side end edge of the plug head and that the recess (51) of the plug head (5) cable side has a innenwindindelosen section with an inner diameter which is greater than the outer diameter of the hollow screw (7) in the region of its thread (72).
The essence of the invention is therefore to dispense with the second, thin O-ring and instead to use the already existing, first O-ring not only for sealing between hollow screw and plug head but also as a means for marking the correct pre-assembly state. This seemingly simple design of the connector has a number of advantages, which essentially result from the fact that the required thread length of the hollow screw decreases in comparison to the construction described in the introduction to about half.
To solve the same problem as in the case of a Stekkerkopf with screwed hollow screw comprehensive connector according to the invention proposed in the connector with the features specified in
The advantages achieved with this solution are essentially the same as stated above for the first solution.
To facilitate the assembly process, the bore of the hollow screw and the cap sleeve on the inside has a radially recessed shoulder, which forms a stop for a collar of the contact sleeve and in the preassembled state of the connector, the displacement of the contact sleeve so limited that between the annular surface or the cone ring surface and the segments of the contact sleeve an insertion gap for the end of the cable outer conductor remains (claim 3). In the connector constructions described in the two mentioned German patent applications, it could happen, however, that the front edge of the cable outer conductor in the course of placement of the preassembled connector on the cable, the contact sleeve to the support on the contacting ring surface or the bottom of the plug head advances, in which case Removed connector and again had to be placed on the cable.
The displacement of the contact sleeve during the placement of the connector on the cable limiting collar can, based on the axial length of the contact sleeve, are mounted so that the already existing, reentrant shoulder of the hollow screw or the cap sleeve fulfills the stop function, so no separate processing step the hollow screw or the cap sleeve to produce a further shoulder is necessary. In this case, the re-entrant shoulder of the hollow screw and the cap sleeve is an annular shoulder whose plug-side end face at the end of the second Spannwegabschnittes the clamping force on formed on the plug-side ends of the segments of the contact sleeve mating surfaces transfers (claim 4).
