Abstract

The connector has a device which divides the gripping path of a threaded sleeve into two sections, the first corresponding to a pre-assembled state of the connector, and the second the final assembly on the end of the cable. The device is formed by the combined action of a threadless section that interrupts the thread of the threaded sleeve, and a threaded section (55) of a plug head whose length does not exceed the length of the threadless section.

Description

The invention relates to a connector for a ring-corrugated Coaxial cables having outer conductors, with a Plug head, which is provided with a threaded section and of an annular surface for contacting the inside Front edge area of the cable outer conductor, with one Radially resilient segments enclosing the outer conductor comprehensive contact sleeve, with a surrounding the contact sleeve, threaded sleeve screwable with the plug head, the segments after covering a span the contact sleeve loaded in the clamping direction, so that the Segments that protrude beyond the contact sleeve End area of the cable outer conductor against the ring surface of the Clamp plug head, and with a device that the Clamping path of the threaded sleeve is divided into two sections, by which the first a pre-assembled state of the connector and the second corresponds to its final assembly on the cable end.

Such a connector is in the unpublished German patent application 197 38 733.0 described. The plug head has an internal thread in its recess for screwing in the threaded sleeve designed as a hollow screw. In contrast to connectors, this connector needs according to the prior art, e.g. according to DE-C-27 24 862, not dismantled before assembly on the cable become. Rather, the connector can be pre-assembled delivered that he only on the as usual prepared cable end can be pushed on as far as it will go got to. Then the fitter only needs the hollow screw in screw in the plug head until a prescribed tightening torque is reached, which indicates that the desired Clamping of the outer cable has occurred. If desired the fitter can also use the connector completely unscrew the banjo bolt from the plug head disassemble. The way that the banjo bolt then when screwing in into the recess of the plug head up to the clamp of the outer cable conductor is the span. This has two sections, the first of which is pre-assembled Condition of the connector and the second of it Final assembly on the cable corresponds. Since it is for proper Assembly is important that the connector when pushed onto the cable end in its factory pre-assembled state, he has a facility which the end of the first and thus the beginning of the second section of the span can be seen. In the the aforementioned, older German patent application are used for this a marking, an O-ring or a material deformation proposed at the end of the first span section. Each however, these alternatives require their own processing during the manufacture of the connector.

The invention has for its object the connector the genre specified in the introduction with a manufacturing technology cheaper device for structuring the span to provide.

This object is achieved in that the Set up by the interaction of a the thread of the Threaded sleeve interrupting, threadless section and at most the same length as the threadless section having threaded portion of the plug head is.

The threadless section of the threaded sleeve can be on the usual NC machines in the same operation as cutting of the thread. The threadless section the threaded sleeve and the threaded section of the plug head are arranged so that when the threaded sleeve is screwed so far with the plug head that Thread section in the unthreaded section of the threaded sleeve falls, the latter in its correctly pre-assembled Position, i.e. at the end of the first span section, located.

The connector builds relatively short when the threaded sleeve is designed as a hollow screw with an external thread and the Threaded section of the plug head has an internal thread in it Recess is (claim 2).

In a further development of this embodiment, Direction of screwing in front of the internal thread of the plug head a snap ring collar as a guide when screwing in the banjo bolt are (claim 3).

Alternativ kann die Gewindehülse als Schraubüberwurf mit Innengewinde ausgebildet und der Gewindeabschnitt des Steckerkopfes ein Außengewinde sein (Anspruch 4).Alternatively, the threaded sleeve can be used as a screw cap Internal thread formed and the threaded section of the plug head be an external thread (claim 4).

The threadless section of the threaded sleeve can have a complementary, threadless section of the plug head. In this case, the threaded section follows of the plug head in the screwing direction of the threaded sleeve a threadless section of at least length of the first threaded section in the screwing direction Threaded sleeve and a second threaded portion of the Plug head on (claim 5).

Außengewinden bestehen (Anspruch 6).To ensure a sufficiently secure guidance of the threaded sleeve in the To achieve the plug head in the preassembled position, The threadless sections of the threaded sleeve should be used and, if applicable, the plug head from the thread depth only slightly exceeding indentations in the respective internal or external threads exist (claim 6).

To reduce the number of revolutions of the threaded sleeve until the cable outer conductor is clamped the engaging threads of the plug head and the threaded sleeve should be a multiple thread (claim 7).

Im übrigen ist der dargestellte Steckverbinder mit Ausnahme der hier vorgeschlagenen Verbesserung weitgehend identisch mit dem in der deutschen Patentanmeldung 197 38 733.0 dargestellten und erläuterten Steckverbinder.1 to 3 is only the cable side of interest here Part of the first embodiment of the plug head shown. 4 shows the complete connector, the plug-side part of the plug head only any embodiment that is not of interest here is. Otherwise, the connector shown except for the improvement suggested here largely identical to that in the German patent application 197 38 733.0 illustrated and explained connectors.

An ihrem gegenüberliegenden, kabelseitigen Ende 64 hat die Kontakthülse 6 einen etwas größeren Außendurchmesser als im Bereich ihrer federnden Segmente 62.Fig. 1 shows a plug head 5, with one over a not shown plastic disc held connector inner conductor 4. The plug head 5 has one at its cable end Recess 51, which ends at a conical ring surface 52. The Recess 51 is intended for receiving a contact sleeve 6, which are designed in the manner of a collet and for this purpose by axial from its plug end Slits 61 is divided into resilient segments 62 that are attached to their free ends have thickenings 63. On their opposite, cable-side end 64 has contact sleeve 6 a slightly larger outer diameter than in the area of their resilient segments 62.

The contact sleeve 6 is compressing the resilient Segments 62 in a banjo bolt 7 of the cable side End used and slidable in this. The banjo bolt 7 has a protruding near its plug end Inner collar 71, the displacement of the contact sleeve 6 limited in both directions. The hollow screw 7 has a External thread, seen from the mating side, from one first, short section 72 comprising few threads and a second, long section 73. Between both thread sections 72 and 73 are threadless Section 74. The long threaded section 73 ends in an annular groove in which there is an O-ring 75.

The recess 51 of the plug head 5 begins from the cable side seen here, with a smooth portion 54 on the an internally threaded section 55 follows, the maximum length of which equal to the length of the unthreaded portion 74 of the banjo bolt 7 is.

In Fig. 2 the banjo bolt 7 is so far in the plug head 5 screwed in that its internal thread section 55 more or less loosely in the threadless section 74 of the banjo bolt 7 lies. This position of the hollow screw 7 relative to the Plug head 5 marks the end of the first clamping path and thus also the beginning of the second clamping path of the banjo bolt 7. The connector is in this pre-assembled state normally delivered or delivered for assembly.

In Fig. 3 is the pre-assembled connector as shown in Fig. 2 on the appropriately prepared end of a ring corrugated External conductor 3 with a conventional coaxial cable Dielectric 2 and tubular inner conductor 1 pushed on, so far that the front edge 31 of the cable outer conductor 3 advanced the contact sleeve 6 in the position shown has either - as shown - the front edges the thickenings 63 of the segments 62 which are sprung open here the contact sleeve 6 the bottom of the recess 51 of the plug head 5 touch or the inner surfaces of the thickening 63 at the ends of the sprung segments 62 of the Contact sleeve 6, the tapered ring surface 52 of the plug head 5th touch.

When the connector is pushed further onto the coaxial cable now pushes the end region 32 of the cable outer conductor 3 between the conical ring surface 52 and the essentially complementary counter surfaces of the thickenings 63 of the resilient segments 62. Then, while holding Plug head 5, the hollow screw 7 in the former under replacement of the second section of the clamping path, until the final assembly state shown in FIG. 4 is reached is in which the end portion 32 of the outer cable 3 is fixed between the annular surface 52 and the thickenings 63 of the contact sleeve 6 is clamped and clamped.

In Einschraubrichtung folgt in der Ausnehmung 51 des Steckerkopfes 5 ein zweiter Gewindeabschnitt 57.5 to 8 illustrate a second embodiment of the connector. The representation largely corresponds 1 to 4. Corresponding parts bear the same reference numbers. Fig. 5 shows the plug head 5, the contact sleeve 6 and the hollow screw 7. Their unthreaded section 74 is shorter than in the case of the embodiment 1 to 4. The is accordingly short Threaded portion 55 of the plug head 5 is formed. The axial length of the latter is at most equal to the length of the threadless section 74 of the banjo bolt 7. At the Threaded section 55 of the plug head 5 is included threadless section 56, the axial length of which is at least equal to the axial length of the first threaded portion 72 of FIG Banjo bolt 7 is. In the screw-in direction follows in the recess 51 of the plug head 5, a second threaded section 57.

Fig. 6 shows that in the preassembled state, the unthreaded Sections 56 and 74 of the plug head 5 and the Banjo bolt 7 and the first threaded portion 72 of the latter and the (first) threaded section 55 (in FIG. 5) of the plug head 5 complementary mesh.

Die Fig. 7 und 8 zeigen die Montagezustände entsprechend den Fig. 3 und 4.7 and 8 show the mounting states corresponding to the 3 and 4.

One plug inner conductor 94 comprehensive connector head 95 has at its cable end a tapered ring surface 952 and carries an externally threaded portion 955. The contact sleeve 6 is the same as e.g. in 1 to 4. The threaded sleeve is instead of a banjo bolt here designed as a screw cap 97 with an internal thread. To limit the displacement of the contact sleeve 6, the screw cap 97 has a snap-in Inner collar 971. The internal thread of the screw cap 97 consists of a first threaded section 972 and a second threaded portion 973, between which there is a threadless Section 974 is located. 9, The pre-assembled state is the external thread section 955 of the connector head 95 in the unthreaded section 974 of the screw cap 97. The external thread section 955 of the connector head 95 is shorter than the threadless Section 974 of the screw cap 97.

Fig. 10 shows that in the fully assembled state, the second Internal thread section 973 of the screw cap 97 in the External thread section 955 of the plug head 95 engages. The end region 32 of the cable outer conductor 3 is between the Annular surface 952 and the thickenings 63 at the end of the segments 62 of the contact sleeve 6 clamped and contacted in this way.

The proposal according to the invention was based on Described embodiments of the connector that so are constructed so that the end portion 32 of the cable outer conductor 3, preferably at the height of a wave crest is cut off between one on the plug head 5 trained conical ring surface 52 and the substantially complementary counter surfaces of thickenings 63 on the Ends of resilient segments 62 of the contact sleeve 6 mechanically is clamped and electrically contacted. The suggestion However, the invention is suitable for connectors, at which the mechanical interception and electrical contacting the cable or the cable outer conductor in another way is solved.

Fig. 11 zeigt ein Beispiel. This fourth embodiment of the Connector largely corresponds to the first embodiment according to Figures 1 to 4, with the proviso that the illustrated interception and contacting similar to known from DE-A-43 44 328. 11 shows 4 corresponding, final assembled state. The reference numbers have the same meaning as in FIGS. 1 to 4, except in the area of interception and contacting of the cable in or with the connector. In the recess 51 of the plug head 5 is the end region 33 of the cable outer conductor 3 contacted on the front side with the plug head. The For this purpose, recess 51 has instead of conical ring surface 52 (cf. e.g. Fig. 1) a substantially in a radial plane lying floor surface 58 against which the flange-like deformed End region 33 of the cable outer conductor 3 is clamped. This flange-like end region 33 forms during the Screwing in the hollow screw 7 by the distance of the second Section of the clamping path into the recess 51 of the plug head 5 by itself, because here with in a radial plane lying end faces formed thickenings 63 on the Ends of the resilient segments 62 of the contact sleeve 6 come in the pre-assembly state, not shown, corresponding to FIG. 3 into the first wave trough of the cable outer conductor 3 lie. If the original front edge of the outer cable 3 as in the case of the previously described embodiments is at the height of a wave crest, the end region of the cable outer conductor becomes flange-like in one layer deformed outwards. However, the original is Front edge approximately at the level of a wave trough, see above arises when the banjo bolt 7 is screwed in over the length of the second span section, the illustrated double-layer, flange-like deformation of the end area 33 of the outer cable 3.
