Ohne die firstbalken- respektivische firstlattenseitige Befestigung zu beeinträchtigen, kann der Wellenbereich in Traufrichtung gefahrlos auf Zug beansprucht also gedehnt werden. Der gesamte freie mittlere Bereich kann als entsprechende Dehnungsreserve herangezogen werden. Konkret ist baulich dabei so vorgegangen, daß die stufenlos Breitenvariierbarkeit durch eine stauch- und/oder streckbare Wellung des mittleren Bereiches erzielt ist. Nicht so tiefe Profiltäler der Dacheindeckungsplatten können also kompensiert werden, indem die Grundwellung unterschritten wird, was, wie angedeutet, durch Stauchen geschieht. Einen großen Dehnvorrat erhält man sodann, wenn die Wellung sich über die gesamte Breite des mittleren Bereiches erstreckt. Das vermeidet auch Spannungen im Streifenmaterial.
