Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a backpack allowing, thanks to the structure particularity of its back support to provide the user with better comfort and to the bag better stability.
  • a backpack includes a bag itself and means of carrying including suspenders or suspension straps and a belt.
  • the bag When the bag is in the use position, it is the back side of the bag itself, hereinafter called the back of the bag, which is in contact with the user's back.
  • the carrying straps are partially attached high of the back of the bag either directly on the material of which said back is possibly on a central device allowing height adjustment said suspenders, as in document FR.2.668.345.
  • the weight of the bag is partially supported on the support area of the shoulder straps, even with special means are implemented to carry out a load transfer at the level of the belt. It is certainly possible to have padding elements between the strap forming the strap and the shoulder but this is not, according to the applicant, such as to confer all the desirable comfort on the user.
  • the aim of the present invention is to have further comfort better, without the obligation of such a stiffening structure of the bag.
  • the backpack of the invention which comprises in a manner known from document EP.0.122.764 a bag proper, two padded shoulder supports and two shoulder straps portage connecting the two scapular supports to the bag itself.
  • the attachment between the element monobloc of scapular support and the bag is made with a certain capacity pivoting of the one-piece element relative to the back of the bag, according to a axis perpendicular to said back.
  • This pivoting capacity allows there to be a certain independence between the natural movements of the body of the user and those of the bag itself.
  • the central zone of the one-piece scapular support element - including the reinforcing plate - is entirely fixed to said material, for example by sewing, or thanks to self-gripping mechanical fastening elements, of the hook and loop type, the pivoting capacity being obtained thanks to the deformation capacity of said material around the fixing zone.
  • the back of the bag comprises at least one stiffening element at a short distance d from the fixing zone and above the latter.
  • This stiffening element which can be located at a distance d for example of the order of 1 cm, the angular movement of the pivoting is limited.
  • This stiffening element may in particular consist of a strap sewn transversely on the fabric forming the back of the bag, said strap serving as a point of attachment of a handle for gripping the bag.
  • the reinforcement is slightly curved, so that the side areas are slightly apart from the back of the bag in the use position, allowing including some air circulation.
  • the bag when filled is generally curved and has itself a curvature which is the opposite the natural curvature of the user's back.
  • the particular configuration of the one-piece scapular support element fully respects this difference in curvature.
  • the reinforcing plate is made of a rigid or semi-rigid material, for example a foam high density, which, at the level of the two lateral zones, is covered by a damping and ventilated material, constituting the padding of the supports scapulars, for example the superposition of a medium foam density and a porous foam allowing air circulation.
  • a rigid or semi-rigid material for example a foam high density, which, at the level of the two lateral zones, is covered by a damping and ventilated material, constituting the padding of the supports scapulars, for example the superposition of a medium foam density and a porous foam allowing air circulation.
  • the backpack 1 of the invention is characterized by the presence of a one-piece scapular support element 2 which alone performs the back support when carrying the bag 1 while being attached to it only through a central area.
  • the monobloc element 2 has three distinct zones, namely a central zone 3 and two lateral zones 4, which are symmetrical with respect to to the plane passing through the median axis DD 'of the element 2 and also of the bag 1.
  • the central zone 3 is for example, but not exclusively, rectangular in shape, the long sides of which are according to the height of the bag, parallel to the axis DD ', while the short sides 6 are on the width of the bag, perpendicular to the axis DD '.
  • Each lateral zone 4 is intended to come to rest on the scapula when wearing the backpack.
  • each of the two lateral zones 4 has an oblong shape extending laterally from the central area and obliquely towards the bottom of the bag.
  • a reinforcing plate 7, visible in FIG. 2, constitutes the base of the monobloc element 2, this plate extending both in the area central 3 and in the two lateral zones 4 and giving this set monobloc 2 the aforementioned particular configuration.
  • each lateral zone 4 is disposed a padded support 8 which comes in elevation relative to the reinforcing plate 7, being intended to come into contact with the user's back when carrying the bag.
  • the backpack 1 comprises in known manner two shoulder straps carrying 9 and a belt 10.
  • the carrying straps 9 are attached not to the bag 11 proper but to the one-piece scapular support element 2 along the upper edges 12 of the lateral zones 4.
  • this fixing is carried out in the most possible away from the central area 3.
  • the positioning of this binding may vary depending on the average morphology of the users.
  • the two straps 9 are, at their opposite end partially fixed bottom of the bag, near the belt 10.
  • the attachment of the bag itself 11 and of the monobloc element shoulder support 2 is done at the central zone 3 of said element 2.
  • this fixing is carried out with a certain capacity of pivoting of the element 2 relative to the back 13 of the bag, according to the arrow F.
  • stiffen the portion of the back 13 which is located near the fixing zone can be by example, a strap 14 sewn transversely at the top of the back 13, at a short distance and parallel to the small upper side 6 of the zone central 3. This strap can be used to lock a handle 15 of gripping the bag 1.
  • the deformation of the flexible material above the fixing area is therefore less important than the one below of the fixing area so that we get a clearance angular angle reduced preferably centered on the axis DD 'at the level of the stiffening element 14.
  • the reinforcing plate 7 is of preferably curved, at least along the two lateral zones 4, so as to that the one-piece element 2 substantially follows the natural curvature of the back and the shoulder supports 8 are in contact, so homogeneous over their entire surface, with the user's back at the level of shoulder blades.
  • the padding of the scapular supports 8 is obtained thanks to foam coming in elevation relative to the reinforcing plate 7. It can be a superposition of several layers of structural foam different, for example a first layer 16 of medium foam density, in contact with the reinforcement plate 7 and a second layer 17 of low density open pore foam.
  • the reinforcement plate 7 and the layers of foam 16.17 are arranged in an envelope 18, the assembly constituting the element monobloc of scapular support 2.
  • this envelope 18 is perforated at the second foam layer 17, so that allow the passage of air, which creates a certain ventilation of the supports scapulars and the elimination of sweat that could be absorbed during carry.
  • the reinforcing plate 7 must be sufficiently rigid on the one hand to transfer the load between the central area attached to the back of the bag and the straps attached to the side areas and on the other hand realize a homogeneous pivoting of the monobloc assembly 2 with respect to the bag. However, it does not have to be completely rigid, capable of flex slightly according to arrow G.
  • FIG 2 there is shown the positioning of the element monobloc 2 when carrying the bag 1.
  • the back support is made exclusively according to the lateral zones 4 of the monobloc element 2, the curvature of the plate reinforcement 7 allowing to have, for this back support, a distribution homogeneous over this entire surface.
  • the bag 1, when is filled takes a domed shape which is the opposite of the curved shape of the back 19 of the user, so that there is a free space 20 which emerges between the bag and the one-piece element 2 on either side of the attachment zone 3, able to allow ventilation of the back of the wearer by air circulation.
  • the maximum width of the monobloc element 2 can be greater than the width of the back 13, in particular in the case of a bag of smaller volume.
  • the central zone 3 was fixed on the back 13 of the bag 1 by sewing, along the four sides 5, 6 of the central zone 3 and also along the two diagonals of the corresponding rectangle. This fixation by sewing can be easily done on two short sides 6 at the level of the envelope 18. According to the two long sides and along the diagonals, it is also necessary to sew the reinforcement plate. This can be obtained by the use of a high or medium foam plate density, the rigidity of which is however sufficient to obtain the technical effect research.
  • FIG. 3 The second embodiment of a bag 20 according to the invention is partially illustrated in Figure 3 which essentially represents a one-piece shoulder support 21 having a different configuration from that of the first example.
  • This one-piece element 21 has as previously a central part 22, of rectangular shape whose large sides 23 are oriented longitudinally along the median axis DD 'of the bag while the short sides 24 are oriented transversely to the same axis DD '.
  • this central zone 22 by through which the one-piece element 21 is fixed to the back 25 of the bag 20, has long sides 23 of the order of 8 to 12 cm and short sides 24 making the order of 4 to 6cm.
  • the lateral zones 26 of the monobloc element 21 extend laterally on either side of the central zone 22 with an upward extension of the bag, an extension of which an end portion 26 has served as a carrying strap.
  • the padded shoulder support 27 has an oblong shape which extends over the lateral zone 26, including in the upward extension thereof to the end part 26 a .
  • the reinforcing plate extends over the entire surface of the one-piece element 21 including in the end parts 26 a forming carrying straps.
  • the end portions 26 a may also include padding.
  • the one-piece shoulder support element 21 on the back 25 of the bag 20 is obtained, in the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 3, by mechanical fastening elements of the hook-and-loop type, with hooks and loops. More particularly the central zone 22 of the one-piece element 21 has external elements with loops, in particular by sewing on the outer casing of the monobloc element 21 of a textile strip with 30 loops on both the outside and the inside of the element monoblock 21 in the central zone 22 thereof.
  • hook elements are provided in the upper and middle part of the back 25 of the bag, corresponding to the fixing zone between said back 25 and the one-piece element 21, hook elements are provided.
  • this strip 31 is a strip 31, the length L of which is substantially three times greater than the long side 23 of length I 1 , of the central rectangular area 22.
  • this strip 31 has the same width I 2 as the short side 24 of the central zone 22.
  • This band 31 which has hooks on its outer face and loops on its inner face is sewn on the back 25 of the bag only in its intermediate part 31 c which corresponds to the surface of the central zone 22.
  • the two ends 31 a and 31 b not sewn on the back 25 of the bag, of this strip 31 are therefore free.
  • Fixing the one-piece member 21 of shoulder support on the bag is carried out by applying the central zone 22 of the stitched intermediate portion 31c of the tape 31 so that the loops disposed on the inner face of the central region 22 come cooperate with the hooks carried by the intermediate part 31c of the band 31.
  • the lower end 31 b of the strip 31 is raised towards the central zone 22 so that the hooks carried by this end 31 b cooperate with the outer loops carried by the strip 30 covering the central zone 22.
  • the upper end 31 a is then lowered in turn to cover the inner end 31 b .
  • the band 31 being provided with loops on its inner face, the hooks carried by the upper end 31 a cooperate with said loops to obtain the locking in the final position of the central zone 22 of the one-piece scapular support element 21 on back 25 of the bag 20.
  • the removal of this element is done by carrying out the operations strictly in reverse.
  • This method of attachment means that it is not permanently attached the one-piece scapular support element to the bag itself, so that it is possible when selling the backpack to offer the user to do himself assembling his bag by selecting such type of element monobloc of scapular support which suits him more or such type of bag well said.
