Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to machines for print of the kind comprising a turret, which is rotatably mounted around its axis, and which carries, radially, on its periphery, a plurality of supports object-holders themselves rotatably mounted on this turret, and a plurality of workstations, which are distributed circularly around the turret, at right of the path of the object holders, and some of which are posts printing while others are processing stations, such as, for example, drying, varnishing, flaming, dusting or other.
- These printing machines are for example used for the printing of objects of revolution, such as for example flexible tubes, in synthetic or other material, intended to receive successively several different color prints.
- the printing stations intervene by screen printing or offset for example, or whether they are printing presses of the gilding press type, there it is important that, from one to the other, the object-holders keep the same orientation, so that each of them is printed suitably identified in relation to the same reference.
- the object holders are each integral in rotation with a pinion which meshes with a central crown common to all.
- This arrangement which has the advantage of simplicity, because it ensures mechanically the synchronization sought, has the disadvantage to involve an identical rotation of the object-holders at all the work, i.e. at both printing and processing stations possibly intervening between these printing stations.
- the object holders are not the object of any movement differential rotation between workstations.
- control means remain common to the set of rotating drive blocks, so that like previously, the rotation of the holder is the same at all workstations, whether they are printing stations or whether treatment stations.
- the present invention generally relates to a provision meeting this wish.
- a machine for printing kind comprising a turret, which is rotatably mounted about its axis, and which carries radially, at its periphery, a plurality of object-holding supports themselves rotatably mounted on this turret, with, associated with each of these object-holder supports, in an eccentric position relative to the axis of such a support object holder, a rotating drive finger, a plurality of work, which are distributed circularly around the turret, at the right of the path object holders, some of which are printing stations while that others are treatment stations, and a fixed tray, which, arranged parallel to the turret, has, at its periphery, a groove with which are engaged the rotational drive fingers of the object holders, with, interrupting, locally, from place to place, this groove, blocks of rotary drive, which are rotatably mounted under the control of control means, being associated, each individually, for some, at the printing stations, and, for others, at the processing stations, and which
- the means for controlling the rotational drive blocks associated with printing stations have motor and belt looped endless on a plurality of pulleys, one of which is fixed in rotation on the shaft output of this engine and the others of which are each individually calibrated in rotation on the corresponding rotary drive blocks, it is the same for the control means of the rotary drive blocks associated with the treatment stations, and the two belts thus used intervene at different levels.
- the implementation of such a numerically controlled engine advantageously allows to know at any time the angular position of object holders, and thereby order these stations accordingly printing.
- this engine is itself, preferably a numerically controlled motor, and this then works in pursuit of the engine, or main engine, ensuring joint control of all rotating drive blocks correspondents.
- clutch means individual, which, if desired, allow this support to rotate freely object holder around its axis, independently of other supports object holder.
- the objects 10 to print are flexible tubes, which, intended to contain a larger product or less pasty, such as cream or other, have a body 11 and a neck 12.
- the body 11 is generally cylindrical, and its cross section is substantially circular.
- the printing machine 14 used for printing such objects 10 generally comprises, in a manner known per se, a turret 15, which is rotatably mounted, about its axis A1, in this case a vertical axis, on a frame 16, and which carries, radially, at its periphery, a plurality of supports object-holder 17 themselves each respectively rotatably mounted on this turret 15 around axes A2, which in this case are orthogonal to the axis A1 of the turret 15, and which are therefore horizontal.
- a turret 15 which is rotatably mounted, about its axis A1, in this case a vertical axis, on a frame 16, and which carries, radially, at its periphery, a plurality of supports object-holder 17 themselves each respectively rotatably mounted on this turret 15 around axes A2, which in this case are orthogonal to the axis A1 of the turret 15, and which are therefore horizontal.
- the turret 15 is a simple circular contour tray, and it is rotatably mounted on a table 18 belonging to frame 16, figure 3.
- this turret 15 is rotated, step by step, by a motor 19 with which an indexer 20 is associated.
- the objects 10 to be printed being flexible tubes
- the supports object holders 17 are cylindrical mandrels on which the objects 10 are just put it on.
- these object-holding supports 17 are hollow, and, for stabilization objects 10 to be printed, they have, on their surface, a network of nozzles 21 connected to any source of suction.
- the printing machine 14 comprises a plurality of work stations 22, in this case work stations work 22A, 22B, Figure 1, which are distributed circularly around the turret 15, to the right of the path of the object holders 17, and some of which, 22A, are printing stations, while others, 22B, are treatment.
- the printing stations 22A which are four in number, for a four-color printing of 10 objects to print, intervene by screen printing.
- each of these 22A printing stations an individual motor is provided for control the movement of the corresponding screen, and that this motor is a numerically controlled motor (not shown).
- the processing stations 22B are drying stations.
- these drying stations intervene by radiation ultraviolet.
- each of the printing stations 22A is followed by a station treatment 22B.
- the whole is completed by a loading and unloading 23, and, for a preliminary treatment of the objects 10 before their printing, by work stations 22 suitable for this purpose, namely, by example, a 22C flaming and dusting station, and a 22D varnishing followed by a drying station, i.e. a drying station treatment 22B.
- work stations 22 suitable for this purpose namely, by example, a 22C flaming and dusting station, and a 22D varnishing followed by a drying station, i.e. a drying station treatment 22B.
- the printing machine 14 comprises a fixed plate 28, which, arranged parallel to the turret 15, has, at its periphery, a groove 29 with which are engaged the rotational drive fingers 27 of object holders 17, with, interrupting, locally, from place to place, this groove 29, rotational drive blocks 30A, 30B, which are rotatably mounted under the control of control means 31A, 31B, being associated, each individually, some of them, to the printing stations 22A, and for others, at processing stations 22B, and which include each a groove 32 in which the drive fingers in rotation 27 of the object-holders 17 engage each one successively to their turn.
- the fixed plate 28 extends above the turret 15 and, while resting, by means bearing 33, on a block 34 disposed axially in the center of this turret 15, it is coupled to the frame 16 by lines 35, FIG. 3.
- the fixed plate 28 has, peripherally, a circular outline.
- this groove 29 is formed between two ribs 37 duly reported, for this purpose, parallel to each other, on this fallen edge 36.
- each of the rotation drive blocks 30A, 30B is formed between two ribs 38 duly attached, parallel to each other, on the same support flange 39 belonging to such a rotary drive block 30A, 30B.

- A3 be the axes of these rotational drive blocks 30A, 30B on the fixed plate 28.
- control means 31A of the blocks 30A rotary drive associated with 22A printing stations are distinct from the control means 31B of the rotary drive blocks 30B associated with treatment stations 22B.
- control means 31A rotating drive blocks 30A associated with the printing stations 22A have a motor 41A and a belt 42A looped without end on a plurality of pulleys 43A1, 43A2, 43A3, one of which, 43A1, is wedged in rotation on the output shaft of this motor 41A, while others, 43A2, are each respectively locked in rotation on the drive blocks in rotation 30A, and that the last ones, that is to say the pulleys 43A3, are of simple return pulleys, Figures 1 and 2.
- control means 31B of the blocks rotational drive 30B associated with treatment stations 22B It is the same for the control means 31B of the blocks rotational drive 30B associated with treatment stations 22B.
- control means 31B comprise a motor 41B, a belt 42B, and pulleys 43B1, 43B2 and 43B3.
