Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a system for protection of structural elements of carpentry building, such as in particular window frames or French window, or any other structural element classically considered to be part of the field building joinery, for example elements carrying a veranda, and in general everything element having an elongated and profiled shape and participating in the rigidity of said structure.
  • carpentry in particular wood joinery but also the metal joinery, in particular of alloy aluminum, and plastic joinery.
  • the object of the invention is a system of protection of structural elements of building joinery, characterized in that it comprises covering elements made up of profiles in PVC type plastic covering on the outside the elements of the structure, the so-called profiles having a front wall and at least two ribs extending substantially perpendicularly from the front wall and defining between them a groove guide, said ribs being provided on their edges opposite the front wall of the first tabs extending towards each other, the profiles being maintained on said structural elements by fixing studs distributed over the length of the profiles, spaced from each other, the said studs comprising a polygonal base, a narrowed central part and a lug head, the head being inserted between two ribs and now the profile by engagement of the pins with the say first tabs, and the base being interposed between the first tabs and the structural element to ensure continuous spacing between the profile plastic and structural element.
  • Another advantage of the cover profile in plastic resides in the quality of sound insulation that it provides.
  • Yet another advantage of the system according to the invention in the case of the use of the profile plastic on a wooden structure is that it allows keep the aesthetic appearance of the wood on the inside and all the advantages of classic wooden structures, in particular the possibility of repairing or replacement of any element of the structure wood, without being dependent on it, as is the case in metal or PVC structures receiving a wooden interior covering, of a specific shape structural elements of such materials.
  • the profile can be mass dyed or, preferably by means of a coat of paint or tinted plastic deposited on the visible surface and coming into chemical bond with the plastic of profiled, thus giving in addition to a particularly finished aesthetic, high resistance to ultraviolet radiation and abrasion, without risk of chipping in case of shock.
  • the profiles are assembled to form a frame, corner assembly between two profiles being made in miter, and the two said profiles being linked together with their walls fronts in the same plane, by means of parts of assemblies inserted between the rear face of the wall front and second tabs that extend to from ribs or wings.
  • the window shown consists of a frame wooden frame 1 comprising an upper cross member 101, a lower crosspiece 102, and two lateral uprights 103, and two leaves 2 and 3 also comprising each an upper cross member 201, a cross member lower 202, a lateral upright 203 and an upright central 204. All these structural elements are profiled and assembled in a manner known per se, and include standard seals to ensure airtightness between the leaves and the frame.
  • a first profile 4 is used for covering the elements of structure 101, 102, 103 of the frame; a second profile 5 is used for covering the elements of structure 201, 202, 203, 204 of the leaves; and one third profile 6 is provided for covering the junction between the two leaves (see figure 2).
  • the edge of the wing 405 has two lips 410 arranged in a triangle forming a groove between them longitudinal 411.
  • Tabs 406, shoes 407, 408, and lips 410 of wing 405 are located substantially in a same plane parallel to the front wall and forming the rear side of the profile.
  • the second profile 5 is similar, distinguishing itself of the first only by the fact that it is less wide, has only two ribs 502, 503, and only the first shoe 507 is shorter and has a shape identical to second shoe 508.
  • the third profile 6 is similar to the second, but has two symmetrical wings 605.
  • the fixing pads 7, preferably in polyamide, have, axially superimposed, a base polygonal 71, a narrowed central part 72 and a head 73.
  • the dimension of the base is greater than the distance between the tabs 406 of the profile, while the diameter of the central part 72 is less than this distance.
  • Head 73 has a rectangular shape or oblong, having a width less than the distance between said tabs, and a length greater than this but less than the spacing between two adjacent ribs, thus forming two pins 731 diametrically opposite.
  • the axial height of the part central 72 is substantially equal to the thickness of the tabs 406.
  • Each stud is fixed to the structure wood by a screw, for example of diameter 3.5 mm, passing in an axial bore 74 of the stud, without being strongly tight, so as to allow rotation of the stud around the screw.
  • the pads are oriented so that the pins 731 of their heads are oriented according to the direction longitudinal profile. So the profile can be put in position, the heads 73 of the pads engaging without stress between the tabs of the ribs, until that the said tabs come to rest on the bases. In this position, a constant spacing, determined by the thickness of the base, (approximately 3 mm per example) exists at all points between the plastic profile and the structural element, that is to say that nowhere profile is not in contact with the wood of the structure.
  • the glass 8 double glazing is mounted on the wooden frame of the frame and is there held by cover profiles 5.
  • a wedge 801 is placed between the edge of the window and the frame formed by the sleepers 201, 202 and the uprights 203, 204.
  • the edge of the glass is supported, via an 802 joint, against a wooden stick 210 fixed on the frame of manner known per se or produced in one piece with the frame elements by profiling.
  • the profile 5 is fixed as indicated above, and a support and sealing gasket 803 inserted in the groove formed by the lips 510 of the wing 505 of the profile, presses against the outside of the glass to maintain.
  • a rod is preferably provided reinforcement 804 inserted between the edge of the glass and the shim 801, and fixed to the frame before fitting the glass, for example by screws (shown only by their axis 805).
  • An 806 square fold of this stick 804 engages on shoe 508 of profile 5 to consolidate the fixing provided by the studs 7 and guarantee perfect maintenance of the glass.
  • Ports 511 are drilled in the ribs 502, 503, at least for the bottom leaf profiles, for allow drainage of any condensation.
  • a elastomeric seal 512 is inserted between shoe 507 and the frame for the leaf uprights (see figures 2 and 3), in order to conceal from view the studs 7 when the leaves are open, and also serves to guide down at the top the air gap circulating between the profile and the frame. Note that there is no such joint used for leaf crosspieces, so as not to disturb this air circulation.
  • a joint in compressible foam 45 can be placed between the cover profile 4 and the wall of the wall, the finish can be provided by a silicone sealant seal 46.
  • fixing studs 7 can be placed between the ribs 402 and 403 and also between ribs 403 and 404. Access to the stud base is possible through the inside edge of the frame before the three joint lips 415 either in place (or after removal of this seal in case of disassembly).
  • 411 holes are drilled in the profiles horizontal at the top and bottom of the frame, to allow air circulation and evacuation of condensations or possible water infiltration.
  • brackets 9 in polyamide for example, are inserted in the corners formed by the horizontal and vertical profiles (see Figure 4), both for the cover profiles 5 leaves as for the cover profiles 4 of the frame, between the front wall 401, 501 of the profiles and the complementary tabs 91 formed on the ribs.
  • These brackets ensure a good connection of profiles in the corners and guarantee a flatness continues between profiles.
  • These brackets can be notched to ensure self-locking after being forcibly inserted into the profiles, the connection being able be supplemented with an adhesive, for example of the cyano-acrylate type.
  • Profile 6 is fixed in the same way as indicated above, on the central upright of one of the leaves, one of its wings 605 covering profile 5 of this leaf, as seen in figure 2, and the other wing 605 ' coming to cover profile 5 fixed on the central upright on the other leaf when the window is closed.
  • the variant of the leaf shown Figure 6 does not differ from the embodiment previously describes that by replacing wedge 801 and la7 806 rod in a single piece formed from a profile particular 810, for example made of plastic.
  • Figure 7 illustrates the use of the system according to the invention for the renovation of existing windows.
  • the window 8 being held so classic on the wooden frame against a shoulder exterior 220, the cover profile 5 has no holding function of said window.
  • the support joint 803 mentioned above is then replaced by a profile 813 which is used only to cover the shoulder 220 and ensure sealing by being placed in contact with the glass, the seal between this profile and the glass can be completed with a silicone sealant joint.
  • Figure 8 illustrates the use of the system according to the invention for a replacement leaf, adapted in place and place of the original leaf on the frame in profiled PVC 104.
  • the leaf is very similar to that shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3.
  • the profile according to the invention is not used for the sleeping frame, so this is the original profile which is reused, without modifications, thus avoiding the important work which would have been required if the entire window.
  • a such possibility of renovation of plastic joinery is particularly interesting, since it is conventionally the moving parts of the window which are deteriorated while the frame is still in good condition.
  • Figure 10 illustrates the renovation of an old wooden window with single glazing, shown in Figure 9.
  • the profile fixed on the leaf where, in order not to reduce the glass surface, only the edge of the profile is used, fixing studs then being placed between the wing 505 and rib 502 instead of being placed between the two ribs as in the previous examples.
  • the installation of the seal 415 required the creation of a groove 106 in the original wooden frame.
  • Figure 11 shows a another type of window renovation of a type slightly different from that shown in Figures 9 and 10.
  • Figure 12 illustrates a preferred variant profile assembly.
  • one or more 92 'plastic washers also inserted between the ribs, or between a rib and a wing of the profiled, in the grooves formed between the rear face of the front wall and the second tabs 91.
  • the cutout 93 ' corresponding to hole 93 of the washer, coming to lodge on the sharp angle formed by the assembly to the profiles tab.
  • these half-rings guarantee the co-flatness of the front walls of the assembled profiles, they also have the advantage of allow assemblies with any angles.
  • the half-rings can be glued, but preferably they are welded by ultrasound, on the back side of the front walls as shown by the weld points 94. Such a method of attachment is particularly advantageous, because very fast, without risk traces of glue, and without marks on the visible side profiles.
  • the assembly can still be consolidated by whole washers 92, also fixed by ultrasonic welding, on the tabs 406, 506.
  • the washers protrude at the rear of the profile, this however not being troublesome in the measure that the thickness of the washers 92 is less than the spacing between the profiles and the wood, i.e. to the thickness of the polygonal part 71 of the studs 7.
  • the invention is not limited to the examples described previously. It may in particular be applied for the coating of other types of joinery, whether have a wooden, metal or plastic structure.
  • the profiles of the type according to the invention may also be used for coating other elements of structure in building joinery, in particular for verandas.
