Definitions
- the subject invention relates to a method for producing a Armor on the body of a vehicle, especially a passenger vehicle, being individual to each other on the inside of the body closing armor plates are attached.
- the object of the invention is therefore a method for the production of armor on a motor vehicle, in particular to create a passenger vehicle, through which the known Process inherent disadvantages are avoided.
- This is according to the invention achieved in that on the inside of the vehicle cell surrounding Body made of bullet-proof plastic material, which is the same as the assigned areas of the body are profiled, attached.
- the armor plates are made of plastic, they can be used are manufactured by pressing tools, making them automated and thus can be easily manufactured so that they are on the inside the body are optimally adapted and seamlessly to each other conclude. Since furthermore the suitable plastic materials for the same Effectiveness in terms of bullet resistance compared to Steel can have a much lower weight, can be armored are produced by which the total weight of the vehicle is increased much less than is the case with steel armor is.
- the armor plates are preferably with the inside of the body and if necessary glued together.
- the armor plates can also be formed with overlaps.
- a release agent for example a release film
- a molding material is then applied to areas defined by dividing lines, as a result of which molded parts are produced, by means of which pressing tools are produced, which are used for the production of the associated armor plates.
- individual areas of the inside of the body are enclosed by stencils along their edges, whereupon molded parts are produced from these areas by applying a molding material, using which molds are produced for the production of armor plates. Reinforcing strips or flanges of the body that protrude inwards can be used to edge the molded parts.
- the profiling of the inside the body of drawings or surrounding the vehicle compartment Models or the body itself removed and in electronic data implemented and manufactured using this data pressing tools, by means of which adjoining areas of the inside are opposite profiled armor plates can be produced.
- the electronic data pressing tools for the production of armor plates particularly exciting, manufactured, e.g. milled.
- the pressing tools are made of hard plastic, whereby at least 100 pieces of armor plates can be produced by the same are.
- the pressing tools are made of steel or Made of aluminum.
- the armor plates are made of high molecular weight polyethylene or aramid.
- For their manufacture can be a variety of plastic, especially polyolefins, existing foils or mats made of aramids are stacked on top of each other and be spatially deformed by heating and pressing.

- the unclad inside of the Vehicle compartment 10 divided into a variety of areas, in which areas armored plates with the same profile on the inside of the body and be attached to it.
- the inside of the body is in a variety of areas 31 to 41 divided, which close together. These areas 31 to 41 are set so that they are easily molded can be limited by ribs or flanges of the body can.
- a separating layer for example in the form of a film, is applied to the inside of the body and templates surrounding these areas are produced, whereupon a plastically deformable material is introduced into these areas.
- molded parts corresponding to the individual areas are produced.
- pressing tools are produced which are used to produce the armor plates assigned to the individual areas 31 to 41.
- the inside of that area of the vehicle body which is to be armored is removed from drawings, models or the bodies and the data obtained thereby are used for the production of pressing tools for the production of the individual armor plates.
- FIG. 2 shows that part A of the inside of the body which connects to the right rear wheel arch.
- the central area of the armor plate 33a is flat. This armor plate 33a connects to the adjacent armor plate 31a but against which it overlaps the other adjacent armor plates 32a and 34a.
- an armor plate 42a adjoins the armor plate 33a in the area of the right rear wheel arch, which rests on the right rear wheel arch 42.
- 4 shows the design of the armor plate 33a which overlaps the edges of the adjoining armor plates 32a and 34a with its edges 33b.
- Polyolefins serve as the material for the production of the armor plates ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (brand name: DYNEEMA), or aramids (brand names: DURAMID, DURAPREG).
- DYNEEMA ultra high molecular weight polyethylene
- aramids brand names: DURAMID, DURAPREG.
- Armor plates which are made of polyethylene films, are therefore preferred over those which are made of aramid, because they have only about half the weight with comparable bullet resistance. However, they are therefore compared to those made from aramid are disadvantageous because they cannot be glued to sheet steel. However, also Armor plates made from polyethylene can be used below two types of attachment explained:
- a fastening device 5 which consists of a screw bolt 51 with a screw head 52, the screw bolt 51 being assigned a nut 53.
- the screw head 52 and the nut 53 have 3 to 5 times the diameter of the screw bolt 51.
- the nut 53 is welded to the inside of the body part 42, the armor plates 33a and 42a are provided with holes into which the screw bolt 51 is inserted and the screw bolt 51 is screwed into the nut 53, whereby the two armor plates 33a and 42a are attached to the body part 42.
- the same or similar fastening devices can be provided at any other locations.
- a similar device 5a is also shown.
- the screw head 52 can also be welded to the body part and the nut 53 can be screwed onto it.
- an armor plate 6 which consists of a plurality of layers 61 made of polyethylene, an adhesive film 62 based on polyethylene (brand name YPAREX), which has a thickness of approx. 30 m ⁇ , and an aramid mat 63 is placed thereon, the connection of the mat 63 to the upper films 61 made of polyethylene being effected by interwoven strips 64 made of polyethylene and furthermore these layers are sewn together using aramid threads 65 over the entire surface. Since aramid can be glued well to steel sheet, such armor plates 6 can be attached to the inside of a body by gluing.
- All types of armor plates can be fibrous or mat Inlays made of steel, ceramics, carbon, glass, slag, minerals and the like be reinforced more.
- the thickness of the armor plates is 5 mm to 15 mm depending on the extent of the bullet resistance shall be.
- the weight of those made from plastic materials Armor plates are less with comparable bullet resistance values than 20% of the weight of armor plates made of steel.
- As Molding materials for molding the inside of the body can Polyester resins or plaster can be used.
- the pressing tools can also be made from a hard plastic become. By means of such pressing tools, at least 100 pieces can of the respective armor plates are manufactured. Soferne larger quantities
- the pressing tools are to be made of aluminum or steel manufactured.
- the particular advantage of the method according to the invention is that armor plates with the same profile can be produced in series on the inside of the body of the vehicle, these armor plates lying close together or overlapping one another.
- the inside of the armor plates is then clad in a known manner.
- the weight of the armor compared to that which is made of steel, is significantly reduced without this resulting in a deterioration in the bullet resistance.
