Definitions
- the present invention relates to a bracelet formed by a flexible structure and by a plurality of hard elements, in particular metallic, and a method of assembling such a bracelet.
- Some bracelet manufacturers have already proposed bracelets combining elements hard, in particular metallic with flexible structures, especially leather or fabric so as to provide bracelets with an original aesthetic appearance.
- a bracelet according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from document US-A-3,682,603.
- the present invention is offers to supply a mixed bracelet having, according to a longitudinal direction of the bracelet, a middle region in which the hard elements are located and two lateral regions located on one side and the other of the middle region, these lateral regions being constituted by a flexible structure, in particular by a structure, the upper part of which is made of leather or tissue.
- a flexible structure in particular by a structure, the upper part of which is made of leather or tissue.
- the hard elements associated with the same strand of the bracelet are linked together directly articulated thereby forming for themselves a metal bracelet which is assembled to a flexible structure having in one embodiment preferred a lower layer covering said elements hard forming the central part of the visible face of the bracelet.
- claim 1 The new bracelet developed by the present inventor is given in claim 1 attached hereto.
- the claim 2 attached defines an embodiment preferred of the invention, while claim 3 defines a preferred variant of this embodiment.
- Claims 4 and 9 define particular characteristics of an embodiment in which an enlargement of the structure is planned flexible, in the general surface defined by the bracelet, when assembling this structure with the elements hard arranged in the middle part of the bracelet.
- Figures 1 and 2 show a wristwatch whose bracelet 2 is formed by a structure flexible 4 and by a plurality of hard elements 6.
- the flexible structure 4 defines, in one direction longitudinal of the bracelet which is perpendicular to the section line II-II of FIG. 1, a middle region 8 and two lateral regions 9 and 10 located on the side and else in this middle region.
- the hard elements 6, by example made of metal or ceramic, are arranged in the middle region 8.
- the hard elements of the same strand of the bracelet 2 are connected directly to each other from articulated manner, represented schematically by a pin 12.
- the hard elements form the links of a median structure of bracelet 2, these links being assembled in the manner of a metal bracelet known from the skilled person.
- hard elements may not be connected directly to each other in an articulated way but be assembled individually or in groups at the flexible structure 4 of bracelet 2.
- the elements 6 are assembled to the structure 4 by defined additional fixing means, of a part, by lateral surfaces 14 provided on the sides elements 6 adjacent to the two parts longitudinal 16 and 18 forming the structure 4, and other part, by parts 20 of this structure 4, and, engaged in lateral grooves 22 defining the lateral surfaces 14.
- the parts of the links 6 where are provided the lateral grooves 22 define stops for the parts 20 of the structure 4 according to the direction 24 perpendicular to the general surface 26 defined by the structure 4.
- the parts 20 form stops in direction 24 for links 6 adjacent to longitudinal parts 16 and 18. Consequently, the hard elements 6 defining the links of a structure hard, especially metallic, are fixedly assembled to the flexible structure 4.
- the structure 4 has parts elastically deformable which are stressed for this assembly, in particular to allow in the case of present embodiment a separation of the two parts longitudinal 16 and 18 during the introduction of links 6 to form bracelet 2.
- these parts elastically deformable maintain the parts 20 of the structure 4 in the lateral grooves 22.
- Figure 3 is shown a variant of the first embodiment which differs from it in that the additional fixing means are formed, of a part, by lateral projections 28 provided on the hard elements 6 adjacent to the longitudinal parts 16 and 18 and, on the other hand, by complementary grooves 30 provided for in these parts 16 and 18 and in which are engaged projections 28.
- the flexible structure 4 it is planned to cover the flexible structure 4 by an upper layer 32 and by a layer lower 34.
- the upper layer 32 has at least an opening for the passage of the 6 elements which emerge through this opening.
- the layer lower 34 covers the underside of elements 6 of so that only this layer 34 is in contact with the arm of the watch wearer shown in Figure 1. This ensures great comfort for wearing the bracelet 2, the disadvantages associated with a metal bracelet, in particular when it comes to pinching skin problems or hairs, are nonexistent.
- the sensation cold that can result from wearing a metal bracelet is also removed by the lower layer 34.
- bracelet 2 has a hard structure, especially metallic, in its middle region having a identical appearance to that of a link bracelet without having the disadvantages.
- the arrangement of two lateral regions 9 and 10 in which the structure 4 essentially extends provides a remarkable aesthetic effect.
- the upper layer 32 can be made up of various materials, including leather or fabric, the marriage with hard elements 6 gives an aesthetic effect particularly noble.
- Layers 32 and 34 are assembled to flexible structure 4 by means of seams 36, external seams 38 also being provided for finishing the bracelet 2.
- the elements 6A are similar to elements 6 shown in Figure 3, with the exception of parts of elements 6A defining the additional fixing means of the hard structure with flexible structure.
- the parties 40 links 6A adjacent to the longitudinal parts 16A and 18A of the flexible structure 4A each have a face substantially parallel to the general surface 26 of the flexible structure 4A, these upper faces forming stops for the parts 42 of the structure 4A.
- the faces of parts 42 bearing against the above-mentioned faces of the peripheral lower projections 40 are also parallel to the general surface 26.
- Parts 40 and 42 reciprocally define stops according to the direction perpendicular 24 to the general surface 26.
- the structure 4A has parts 42 forming a stop in one direction, that is to say that they only prevent the hard elements 6A from exit out of the opening provided in the diaper upper 32.
- the assembly of the hard elements 6A with the flexible part of the bracelet is also provided by the lower layer 34 which retains the elements 6A. From this done, once assembled, the elements 6A are integral of the flexible part of the bracelet according to the invention.
- the longitudinal parts 16A and 18A of the flexible structure 4A are connected transversely by transverse parts 46. From preferably, these transverse parts are elastically deformable. This property is used when the assembly of the hard elements 6A with the flexible part of the bracelet including structure 4A.
- the transverse parts 46 are almost entirely covered by the hard elements 6A. To this end, the elements 6A have transverse recesses 48 or transverse grooves 50 for the passage of these parts.
- Elements 6A sometimes have either a transverse recess 48, i.e. a transverse groove lower 50 according to their position relative to the structure 4A.
- the transverse parts 46 are multifunctional. First, they provide physical connection between the longitudinal parts 16A and 18A, which stiffens the flexible structure 4A and allows thus to maintain the openings 52 of the structure 4A and the opening of the upper layer 32 integral with this layer 4A at given dimensions, determined so that the hard elements 6A forming the hard structure have a total transverse dimension adjusted to transverse dimensions of these openings.
- the aforementioned adjustment between the transverse dimension of the hard structure and the transverse dimension of the openings 52 of the structure 4A be maintained by the fact that the parties transverse 46 present with a slight deformation elastic allowing the longitudinal parts 16A and 18A to exert some lateral clamping force on the hard structure. This avoids the appearance of slits between layer 32 and the hard structure.
- the cross sections 46 are stressed during the assembly of the hard structure with the flexible part of the bracelet, as shown on the right side of figure 5.
- This assembly process and the reverse process of separation have several advantages.
- this allows a change of the flexible part of the bracelet without exerting mechanical stress on the structure median formed by hard elements. So this hard structure is not damaged nor during assembly with the flexible structure, nor during a separation of flexible and hard structures. This is particularly important when the hard elements consist of a relatively soft metal like gold.
- the party flexible, in particular the covering layers are leather or fabric, it is necessary to be able to change periodically this flexible part. Thanks to the process of the invention, a seller or even the user himself can make such a change by having the means gripping and spacing required.
- the invention thus relates also a method of separating a flexible structure and a hard median structure for bracelets according to the invention described above in which it is intended, to using gripping and spreading means, to spread longitudinal parts of the bracelet so that release the complementary parts from the fixing means used to assemble structures soft and hard. Once this spacing has been achieved, the hard structure is separated from the flexible structure according to a direction perpendicular to the general surface of this flexible structure. In the case of the embodiment Figures 1 and 2, such a method of separation of flexible and hard structures is advantageous.
- FIG 8 is shown a variant of the second embodiment.
- This variant stands out in that the transverse parts 46 of the structure 4A are covered by the top cover layer 32.
- the lower transverse grooves or the transverse recesses provided for the passage of transverse parts 46 are dimensioned so as to also allow the passage of the layer of recovery.
- Such a variant has the advantage of allow prior assembly of the 4A structure with the covering layer 32 before carrying out the openings 52 in structures 4A and the openings corresponding in layer 32. In addition, this allows maintain the longitudinal parts of layer 32 pressed against hard elements or links adjacent to these longitudinal parts.
- Figure 9 is shown another variant of embodiment in which the hard elements 6B having a transverse offset 48B for the passage of transverse parts 46 have lower projections 56 partially defining the hooks 48B.
- These projections 56 are provided so that the introduction of transverse parts 46 are easily made when the elements 6B are located substantially in a solid plane.
- the depth of the recesses 48B is provided so that the transverse parts 46 do not prevent to bend the bracelet, especially when wearing it wrist.
- These projections 56 serve to fix the elements 6B to the flexible structure when the bracelet is curved in the sense of wear.
- Figures 10 and 11 show two variants of a third embodiment according to sections similar to Figures 2 to 4.
- the embodiment of the Figure 10 differs from that of Figure 2 in that it is provided in the links or hard elements adjacent to the longitudinal parts 16 and 18 of the recesses upper 58 in which the edges 60 of the top cover layer 32. This is particularly advantageous for maintaining these edges pressed against the structure 4.
- this particular arrangement eliminates a slit visible between hard elements 6 and parts longitudinal of layer 32.
- the variant in Figure 11 stands out basically from Figure 3 in that the structure flexible 4B present at the inner edges of the two longitudinal parts 16B and 18B of the protrusions upper 64 located at the upper layer 32.
- the protrusions 64 and the internal edges 60 of the layer 32 are located in recesses 58B provided for this effect.
- the protrusions 64 have an advantage particularly in the case of forced introduction of links 6 in the flexible structure 4B.
- the 4B structure can be in a more resistant and less material damaging that the material forming the layer 32, the protrusions 64 allow on the one hand to avoid deteriorate the edges 60 when assembling the bracelet and on the other hand to increase the stability of the whole by better resistance of the elements 6.
- layer 32 is bonded to layer 4B. From this done, only an outer seam 38 is provided.
- Figures 12 and 13 show a fourth mode in which the hard elements 66 occupy each a whole width between the two parts longitudinal 16 and 18 of the flexible structure 4.
- the fastening means provided for assembling the links 66 to the flexible part of the bracelet are equivalent to those shown in Figure 2.
- Each link has a lower groove 50 for the passage of the parts transverse 46 than the structure 4.
- the elements 66 are hinged directly to each other using pins 68.
- the elements 66 are each introduced into an opening 52 of the structure 4 without these elements are directly connected to each other.
- Each element is thus fixed to structure 4 by the means of fixing according to the invention provided on the lateral edges elements 66.
- the parts transverse 46 are advantageously covered by the upper layer 32.
- this alternative embodiment has a disadvantage being given that each of the elements 66 must be mounted separately and that when changing the game flexible, the hard structure formed by these links 66 does not not form a united whole.
- it is possible to get rid of the means of direct connection between hard elements 66 and the replacement of a single link damaged is relatively easy in such a case.
- the elements 66 are forced in / out pressure in the openings 52 of the flexible structure 4.
- the parts longitudinal 16 and 18 move apart under the action of resulting forces at the level of the respective profiles of complementary parts forming the fixing means.
- the flexible structure 4, 4A or 4B is made up of particular either by a plastic material, in particular in polyester or polyamide; either by a material based on natural or synthetic fiber, in particular Kevlar® or a similar material; either by natural rubber or synthetic based on Neoprene® or silicone.
- a plastic material in particular in polyester or polyamide
- Kevlar® or a similar material either by natural rubber or synthetic based on Neoprene® or silicone.
- any material also having the flexibility required for a bracelet can be considered, including leather, fabric or rubber.
- Each opening 52C has on its edges four flaps 71, 72, 73 and 74. These flaps form the parts elastically deformable of the flexible structure 4C and simultaneously define the complementary parts forming the fixing means belonging to this structure.
- the assembly of the hard structure, formed by links or elements 6C, to the flexible part of the bracelet is obtained by force / pressure engagement of these elements 6C in the openings 52C.
- the application pressure on the 6C elements, superimposed so suitable for 4C structure causes deformation elastic flaps 71 to 74 in one direction substantially perpendicular to the general surface of the 4C structure, as shown in the section right of figure 14.
- the parts of elements 6C in contact with the flaps are profiled so that allow this elastic deformation which increases the dimensions of the openings 52C in said surface general.
- the hard elements penetrate the structure and the flaps 71 to 74 return substantially in the general surface by engaging in the grooves side 76 shown in Figure 15 and in the recesses 78 shown in FIG. 16.
- the recesses 78 are profiled so as to allow to bend the bracelet to wear it wrist.
- the lower projections 80 serve to provide a additional attachment especially when wearing given that these projections 80 approach each other when the hard structure is curved in the direction of carry.
- the profiles of the lateral grooves 76 and recesses 78 provided on the links or 6C elements shown in Figures 15 and 16 are schematic. Other profiles can be considered by a person skilled in the art to ensure pressure assembly efficient and rigid attachment of flexible structures and hard.
- the separation will preferably be carried out using a suitable chisel or cutting press, by cutting of the flexible part along the lateral flanks of the hard structure; which allows to cut the parts transverse 46C at their two ends.
- Figures 17 and 18 show a variant of the fifth embodiment which is distinguished by the fact that the fine metal blade 4C is covered integrally by the covering layer 32.
- This blade and this layer can be pre-assembled, in particular by bonding, before the openings 52C in the layer 4C and the corresponding openings in layer 32 are performed simultaneously.
- the advantages described under the third mode of achievement are also present.
- FIG 19 is shown a sixth mode of embodiment in which the flexible structure 84 forms also the upper layer of the bracelet in both lateral regions of it.
- the flexible structure 84 can be formed for example by a rubber or by a leather.
- the internal edges 60 of the two longitudinal parts of the structure 84 can in particular be treated particularly so as to harden these edges 60 for ensure a sufficiently rigid and secure attachment of the hard structure formed by the elements 6 with the part flexible bracelet formed by structure 84 and layer lower 34.
- Figure 20 is shown a seventh mode of embodiment in which the flexible structure 86 forms also the bottom layer of the flexible part of the bracelet.
- the internal edges 60 of the two longitudinal parts of the structure 86 can be hardened or treated particularly for rigid and secure fixing hard and flexible structures. Note that in this embodiment, the undersides of the elements 6 are not covered.
- FIG 21 is shown an eighth mode of simplified embodiment of the invention in which the part flexible bracelet is formed mainly by the flexible structure 88.
- This flexible structure 88 is formed including leather, rubber or a material elastic.
- the flexible structures 84, 86 and 88 each have a characteristic essential of the invention, namely that they comprise elastically deformable parts which are stressed when assembling the elements 6 with the structure flexible.
- the internal edges 60 of the structure flexible forming the complementary parts of the means of attachment have an upper face and a face lower substantially parallel to the general surface 26 of the flexible structure.
- the lateral grooves 90 in which the edges 60 of the flexible structures 84, 86 or 88, also have a profile defining a face upper and a substantially parallel lower face on the general surface 26.
- the parts complementary defining the fixing means complementary to the hard structure and the structure flexible reciprocally form effective stops according to a direction perpendicular to the general surface 26. From this fact even if the edges 60 have some elasticity or flexibility, and therefore a certain tendency to elastic deformation, maintaining the assembly soft and hard structures can be guaranteed.
- the man of the trade will be able to define the appropriate materials and in particular the possible clamping force of the elements 6 by the flexible structure 84, 86 or 88.
