Abstract

Heated cutting instruments are used in particular in the hairdressing field for cauterising and cutting hair. The previously known heated cutting instruments are fitted with exposed or only inadequately covered heating elements. Such cutting instruments are unsatisfactory or even questionable as regards hygiene and safety. The new heated cutting instrument is meant to improve safety and handling of such scissors. The disclosed heated cutting instrument (1) has at least one blade (2) with a recess (11) for receiving a heating element (12). The heating element (12) is entirely enclosed by the blade (2) and is therefore not accessible from the outside. The energy efficiency, heat distribution and safety of the cutting instrument (1) are thus considerably improved. Moreover, its handling is improved by the complete encapsulation of all current-conducting parts. The invention is useful in the field of hairdressing.

Description

The invention relates to a heated cutting instrument with at least one each heated by means of at least one heating element, the shaft Heating element with a regulating or control device for temperature adjustment is in operative connection.

Such a cutting instrument is already known from WO 92/00688. It is a heated pair of scissors, each with two blades a cutting edge, with each shear blade facing away from the cutting edge Provide side with a recess for receiving a heating wire is, which is approximately parallel over almost the entire length of the shaving blade the cutting edge extends. The shear blades can be placed over the heating wire be heated. The heating wire is connected to a sensor-controlled Control device operated.

Because the heating wire in these scissors in a recess freely accessible from the outside appropriate covers are required to an electrical To provide insulation and / or protection against burns. in the In the present case, the scissors in question are predominantly made with special ones Protective gloves used.

A cutting instrument with a blade is previously known from US Pat. No. 3,892,024. which has a cavity for receiving an electrical heating element having. This blade can consist of two welded or glued together Parts to be made. In a preferred embodiment, the blade is in one piece executed. The cavity is manufactured using bending technology and the Blade welded on its edges. With this solution, it is problematic that both the two- and the one-piece blade in the area of severely stressed cutting edge has a weld or adhesive seam.

As a result, the cutting edge of such a blade can only be ground poorly become. In addition, there are slim cutting edges, which are suitable for Scissors are desirable, almost impossible.

Another solution known from DE-U 295 06 308 therefore sees at least a partial cover of the shear blades by means of corresponding attachable Plastic body in front. Between the shear blades and the ones mentioned A heating foil for heating the shear blades is arranged in plastic bodies. In the space created between the plastic body and the shaving blade However, moisture can easily penetrate, which sooner or later leads to malfunctions the scissors are leading.

From U.S. Patent No. 2,866,068 to Bernstein et al. is also a heatable Butcher knife known in which a heating element is inserted into a groove is that of the surface of the shaft facing away from the cutting edge in the knife shank is milled, which is then heat and moisture resistant Resin component or with an appropriate cement is closed again. This results in material transitions in the shaft area, the corrosion processes due to possible thermal bridges can cause. The transition areas are preferred starting points for moisture and pollution deposits.

The invention is therefore based on the object of an improved heated To create cutting instrument, whose heating element is effective against each any external influence is protected.

This task is performed with a cutting instrument according to the characteristics of the Generically solved in that the heated shaft is integrally formed and a channel-like recess for the complete accommodation of a heating element has, which in the respective solid material of the shaft by means of a drilling-free process or a milling process incorporated and immediately in the area of a cutting edge or blade of the cutting instrument is arranged such that the heating element is completely accommodated within the shaft and the shaft in the area of the cutting edge or blade is free of Connecting seams is.

The heating element of the cutting instrument is thus completely different from the respective one Shaft enclosed. The encapsulated heating element is hereby completely electrically insulated so that the cutting instrument is flowing Water can be cleaned. Any electrical short circuits or corrosion due to the effects of moisture are also excluded. The fact that a recess for receiving the heating element is no longer required, the shaft of the cutting instrument points a completely flat surface so that cleaning is also possible is relieved. Any indentations that appear after a short use represent a preferred bacterial focus are at least for heating of the shaft not required. By means of the internal heating of the Shaft is also an improved heat transfer and thus a higher Energy efficiency achieved. The fact that at the cutting edge or Toothed strip does not need heat from the outside of the shaft to one removed cutting edge or rack, but that Heating element already lies directly in the shaft itself, there is also one more even temperature distribution over the entire cutting edge or Toothed strip of the cutting instrument. Incorporation of the channel-like recess in the solid material prevents any glue or weld seams are arranged in the region of the cutting edge. Rather, it is at all no seam connection required.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are in accordance with the dependent claims Given 2 to 13.

The recess in the shaft suitable for holding a heating element is advantageously precisely manufactured using an electron erosion process.

Instead of the rather complex electron erosion process, the inventive one Scissors thereby also while maintaining the advantages mentioned be made that in the later shaft of the cutting instrument a groove is milled on the side facing away from the blade. This groove is then with a closure part leaving the channel-like Recess to close the heating element and that Closure part by means of a suitable connection technique, preferably Welding, assembled with the rest of the shaft part so that again the unity of the shaft is ensured. This shaft piece is then machined such that the shaft is a blade or a cutting blade having. This type of manufacture also allows one piece Prepare the shaft for holding a heating element without this would require drilling or seams in the future Cutting blade or blade area would have to be accepted.

Characterized in that the heating element in the shaft preferably parallel to the preferred direction the cutting edge is arranged, one results over the entire Length of the cutting edge approximately uniform heat distribution. This is for example in connection with the cauterization of hair when cutting hair significant.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the heated shaft has a Provide plastic cover. This makes cumbersome handling with protective gloves unnecessary. In further training of this configuration the plastic cover is detachably attached. As a result, any Plastic covers easy for basic cleaning of the cutting instrument be solved and from time to time completely for hygienic reasons be replaced.

A clip solution according to claim 5 enables a particularly simple one Cleaning the cutting instrument.

At least the shaft of the cutting instrument is made from the full material cut. This eliminates the usual forging process and thus the danger of embrittlement of the shaft material.

It is particularly advantageous for allergy sufferers that at least the shaft of the Cutting instrument is made of nickel-free material.

Another embodiment of the heated cutting instrument sees one Temperature sensor inside the shaft for a real comparison of the actual setpoint to be able to perform. This is a self-guided Temperature control for the cutting instrument implemented.

Heated in particular come as the cutting instrument according to the invention Scissors into consideration, with the entire in an advantageous embodiment Half of the scissors is cut from the solid.

In an advantageous embodiment, the heated scissors are with a ball bearing equipped at the crossing point. Such scissors have proven to be special long-lasting, robust and above all proven to be smooth and durable. The scissors have the required "bite".

The ball bearing as such can advantageously be below the head of one Screw a screw-nut connection of the scissors housed his.

The handles of the heated scissors are advantageously in plastic half-shells added. As a result, the user is effective against burns protected on any heated metal handles. Furthermore, within the plastic half shells the power supply line of the respective Heating element be protected.

The heated cutting instrument shown in Fig. 1 is a pair of scissors 1, as is usually used by hairdressers. The Scissors 1 includes two heated blades 8, each on the Transition the side of the scissors 1 facing away from the cutting edge into a handle 3. The handle 3 consists essentially of a retaining eyelet 4 with a Plastic jacket 5. The eyelets 4 can be at the same height or each other be staggered. Often there is an additional one on one of the retaining eyes 4 Finger rest molded on for the fingers not accommodated in the eyelet 4. The shear blades 8 are connected by a hinge part 6, the fulcrum is marked by a screw 7. The screw 7 connects the two Shear blades 8. By means of screw 7 there is also a ball-and-socket bearing attached. The edge facing the other shear blade 8 of each shear blade 8 is designed as a cutting edge 10.

As is clear from the cross-sectional illustration in FIG. 2, there is 2 in the shaft of the shear blade 8, a recess 11 is provided. The recess 11 is according to the line shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1 in the region of the cutting edge 10 at least approximately parallel to the cutting edge 10. In the recess 11, a heating resistor 12 is added, with a Power supply line 13 is connected.

The power supply line 13 has one in the region of the joint part 6 Branch 14 on. Depending on the wiring of branch 14, the Heating resistors 12 may be connected in series or in parallel. In any case, made possible the branch 14 supplies the heating resistors 12 via a only power supply line 13, the handle 3 with an external Cable 15 is connected to a current regulator. The cable is over one Plug connection 17 releasably attached to the handle 3.

The shear blades 8 are heated via the heating resistors 12. To still be one to enable unproblematic handling of the scissors 1 The shaving blades 8 can be provided on the outside with a plastic cover. For this purpose, the shear blades 8 according to FIG. 3 have a corresponding attachment Plastic cover recesses 16. The plastic cover each has an essentially the corresponding shear blade 8 corresponding form. In addition, the plastic covers have Holding lugs that releasably lock within the recesses 16. When the plastic cover is attached, there are burns on the heated ones Cutters 8 virtually impossible.

The manufacture and function of the heated scissors 1 is explained below:

Der Absatz 20 überdeckt die dem Griffstück 3 zugewandte Stirnseite des Scherenblattes 8.The shear blades 8 with their shaft 2 form with the handle 3 and the Articulated part 6 a half part 18. The scissors 1 essentially consist of two half parts connected to each other by means of the screw 7. The half parts 18, preferably by means of a CNC process, from the solid milled. Such a half part 18 is shown in FIG. 4. The half part 18 points in the area of the transition from the blade 8 to the hinge part 6 a paragraph 20 on. The paragraph 20 covers the end face facing the handle 3 of the scissors blade 8.

To produce the channel-like recess 11 in the scissor blade 8 is now the half part 18 clamped and on the part of the paragraph 20 an electron beam exposed. This electron beam is used in an electron erosion process from paragraph 20, the recess 11 in the shaving blade 8 cut. The precision of the electron erosion process allows it while driving the recess 11 to a desired depth and precise the arrangement of the recess shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1 11 to be provided. Of course, other arrangements can also be implemented analogously become.

The heated scissors 1 described above need not necessarily be of an electron erosion process. As economical has a practicable and technically superior solution it turned out, the channel-like recess 11 for receiving the heating element 12 in the shaft 2 from the side facing away from the cutting edge 8 in to mill the shaft 2. The shaft 2 is then with a closure piece again preferably with the recess 11 recessed closed by means of a weld outside the cutting blade area. The then one-piece shaft piece is then used for production of the desired cutting blade is primarily machined.

In addition to the electron erosion process and the explained further manufacturing method basically all manufacturing methods are conceivable and subject of the invention, which allow drilling without dispensing with Connecting seams and while maintaining the unity of the shaft 2, a recess 11 suitable for receiving the heating element 12 on a suitable one Job.

A heating element 12 is then introduced into the recess 11, in each case is connected to a power supply line 13 from the open Paragraph 20 is brought out. This power supply line 13 is now in the plastic jacket 5 of the handle 3 formed by half shells and connected to a connector 17. The scissors 1 is then fully assembled.

The scissors 1 can then on the connector 17 and a cable 15 a current controller, not shown, can be connected. The temperature is then set by regulating the current.

In addition, there is a temperature sensor in the recess 11 or elsewhere attached. The temperature sensor detects the actual temperature value of the heated shear blade 8. This actual value is given to the heating resistors 12 supplying current regulator transmitted.

The current controller, the heating resistor 12 and the temperature sensor, not shown thus form a closed temperature control loop for the heated scissors 1. Using this control loop, the scissors 1 can be operated with a adjustable, almost constant operating temperature can be used. The The usual operating temperature of a scissors 1 heated in this way is for applications in the hairdressing area between 100 ° and 300 ° C.

The two half-parts 18 are connected by a screw-nut connection Area of the joint part 6 interconnected. At this point there is one Ball bearing 24 arranged according to FIG. 5.

The two half parts 18 are in the area of the joint part 6 by the screw 7 connected to each other. The screw 7 is provided with a chamfer 21. As a result, it is rotatably connected to one of the two half parts 18. The two half parts 18 are screwed together by means of a knurled nut 22. The "bite" of the scissors 1 is adjustable by the knurled nut 22.

The knurled nut 22 is interposed with a Teflon disk 23 and the Ball bearing 24 connected to the screw 7. The ball bearing 24 is seated under the screw head on one half part 18 and the Teflon washer 23 on the other half part 18 in contact with the knurled nut 22.

The heated scissors 1 is used in the hairdressing area for hair cutting. Melt the hair cut using scissors heated in this way due to the increased temperature at the cutting edge. The tips of the hair are cauterized. This means that the ends of the hair are sealed and thus the stress on the hair is reduced. The related clumping sometimes observed with the cautery of the hair the hair tips can be made using the exact and possible here over the entire Length of the shaving blade 2 constant temperature can be avoided. The hair ingredients remain due to this gentle cutting method receive. The hair cut in this way looks healthier and stays longer glittering. In addition, this is what is feared in hairdressing circles Counteracted split ends. Otherwise, at regular intervals necessary cutting of the hair tips can be omitted entirely or at least is only required at longer intervals.

The permanently extremely smooth-running scissors 1 due to the ball bearing can can be easily cleaned under running water as all electrical installations are fully integrated in the blade 8. The plastic covers are only clipped onto the recesses 16 and can Cleaning purposes easily solved and from time to time for hygienic reasons Time are exchanged in that in the area of the joint part 6 a Power branch 14 is provided, the scissors 1 of the invention can be operated with a single supply cable 15. This too is the handling of the scissors in question further facilitated.

The fact that the heating resistors 12 are arranged in the shaft 2, we total heat given off by the heating resistor 12 absorbed by the shear blade 8, forwarded and emitted in the area of the cutting edge 10 The cutting edge 10 has the desired length over almost its entire length Target temperature. Any heat loss is only indirectly via the shaft 2 or the shaving blade 8 itself and is thus compared to a direct Heat radiation from an exposed heating element is significantly reduced. The scissors 1 according to the invention can thus be highly energy efficient be heated.

The advantages of a heated one enumerated above for the exemplary embodiment Scissors 1 can also be used in conjunction with heated Blades, knives, combs or other cutting instruments used become. These objects can also be used with the described Electron erosion process in the area of a cutting edge 10 of a Comb a recess 11 in the respective shaft 2 for receiving a Heating resistor 12 are provided to take advantage of a uniform To achieve temperature distribution with high energy efficiency. The production and function can be analogous to the scissors described above 1 done.
