Description
The present invention relates to a device for taking samples of a liquid in a reservoir, and more particularly to a device comprising a test piece which is connected to an actuating device by means of an intermediate element, the '' test piece comprising openings which can be closed or not closed by the action of a piston so that, in the non-closed position, a liquid can be introduced into the cavity of the test piece when it is immersed in a tank containing a liquid.
The sampling devices are used to take samples of a liquid which is contained in a tank, a tank or a barrel, for example. These devices can be used for the collection of all kinds of liquids and in various fields, but they are particularly used in the chemical and nuclear fields for taking samples of toxic liquids, the samples being intended for analysis in control laboratories. For the sampling of toxic liquids, it is essential that the sampling devices are designed so that the operator cannot be in contact with the liquid, during the sampling and during transport to the laboratory.
A major drawback of several of the known embodiments is that their design does not allow samples to be taken under all conditions, for example when the tank is under vacuum. Another drawback of known forms of execution is constituted by the fact that these forms of execution are very complex, complicated to produce and therefore very expensive. The known embodiments also have a drawback which is offset by the fact that they are not designed so as to compensate for the presence of air in the specimen, which poses significant problems when closing the specimen
The aims of the present invention therefore consist in remedying the aforementioned drawbacks of the known embodiments.
The objects are achieved with the principles of the invention as defined by claim 1.
The device for taking samples of a liquid contained in a reservoir comprises, according to the principles of the invention, a test piece which is cylindrical and which comprises a cylindrical cavity. Openings are made in the wall of the test piece. A piston is slidably mounted in the upper part of the test piece. The piston can be actuated in a closed position in which it closes the openings, and in an open position in which the openings are not closed. The upper part of the piston has bayonet openings which are intended to cooperate with the lugs which are mounted in the lower part of an actuating rod which is slidably mounted in an intermediate element. The actuating rod is subjected to the action of a compression spring. The intermediate element is connected to an actuating device allowing the specimen and the intermediate element to be lowered into a tank for sampling and to be reassembled after sampling. A sliding plug is mounted in the lower part of the test piece. The sliding plug closes the lower part of the test piece during sampling and transport and is removed to take the sample in the laboratory. The fact that the sliding plug can slide in the lower part of the test piece makes it possible to compensate for the presence of air in the cavity of the test piece. For sampling operations, the test piece is screwed to the lower part of the intermediate element, the tabs of the actuating rod being engaged in the bayonet openings made in the piston. The piston is held in the closed position of the openings by a compression spring which is mounted in the upper part of the intermediate element and which acts on the actuating rod which has an actuating element at its upper end. An element release is mounted in the upper part of the intermediate element and comprises an actuating portion. The release element is arranged so as to act on the spring, that is to say so as to suppress the action of the spring on the actuating rod, therefore on the piston, during the removal of the 'test tube. The principles of the invention have many advantages. An important advantage is constituted by the fact that the various elements are simple and inexpensive to produce. Another advantage is that the operation of the device is mechanical and very reliable. Compensation for the effect of air by the displaceable plug which is mounted in the lower part of the test piece has a very significant advantage when the test piece is removed, this compensation preventing the piston from being pushed towards the top by air pressure when the specimen is removed from the intermediate element, which avoids situations where toxic liquid could escape through the openings during the removal operation, which consequently makes it possible to ensure that the operator cannot come into contact with the toxic liquid.
The accompanying drawings illustrate schematically and by way of example the principles of the invention.

La partie supérieure du piston comporte des ouvertures à baïonnette 12 etReferring firstly to Figure 1, the sampling device comprises a test piece 1 and an intermediate element 18 which are assembled together by thread-tapping 19. The test piece 1, which has a cylindrical shape, has a cavity cylindrical 2 which has a lower portion and an upper portion, the upper portion being of a diameter greater than the lower portion so as to constitute a shoulder 11. A piston 9 is slidably mounted in the upper part of the cavity 2 and comes in abutment on one shoulder 11 in the closed position. Openings 3 and 6 are made in the wall of the test piece 1. The upper walls 4 and 7 and lower 5 and 8 of the openings 3 and 6 are made with a clearance angle, which allows the flow of residual liquid. In the vertical plane, the openings 3 and 6 are arranged above the shoulder 11 so that they are closed by the piston in the closed position. A seal 10 is mounted in a groove made in the piston. L'extrémité supérieure de la tige d ' actionnement 27 peut être reliée à un dispositif d' actionnement 35.14 and 15 which are mounted in the lower part 16 of an actuating rod 27. The intermediate element 18 has a bore 17 in which slide the lower part 16 and a rib 28. The upper part of the intermediate element 18 comprises a shoulder 31. In this position, liquid can be introduced into the cavity 2 of the test piece 1. In this position, and when the piston moves in the test piece, the plug 20 can move upward under the effect of 'a depression, for example.
When the test piece is filled with liquid, it is disengaged from the intermediate element and the upper plug 36 is mounted for transport. The upper plug 36 holds the piston so that the openings 3 and 6 are closed.
les contrôles.FIG. 4 shows the test piece 1 with the internal thread 24. When the test piece arrives at the laboratory, the sliding plug is removed, by mechanical means for example, and the liquid contained in the test piece can flow into a container for controls.
La figure 5 montre une ouverture à baïonnette 12 qui est pratiquée dans la partie supérieure du piston 9.FIG. 5 shows a bayonet opening 12 which is formed in the upper part of the piston 9.
La figure 6 montre les taquets à baïonnettes 14 et 15 qui sont montés dans la partie inférieure 16 de la tige d ' actionnement .Figure 6 shows the bayonet tabs 14 and 15 which are mounted in the lower part 16 of the actuating rod.
Figure 7 shows one of the openings 6 which is formed in the wall of the test piece 1. The opening may have a rectangular shape with spokes in the upper and lower parts.
The sampling device is actuated in the sampling position shown in Figure 8 or out of the tank by the action of a actuating device 35 which can be constituted by a piston or by an electric motor for example. The upper part of the reservoir has a sleeve 39 which has a seal 40. The seal 40 has a cleaning function, that is to say that it cleans the intermediate element and the test piece when they come out of the inside the tank, so as to prevent liquid remaining on the walls of the intermediate element and of the test piece, this in order to guarantee that the operator cannot be in contact with toxic liquid when he disengages 1 'test tube.
In practice, the test piece is mounted on the intermediate element by engaging the bayonet lugs in the - bayonet openings of the piston. The test piece is screwed onto the intermediate element. In this position the piston is held in the closed position by the spring. The test piece and the intermediate element are introduced into the reservoir by the action of the actuating device. The part of the intermediate element which is located outside the reservoir can be actuated manually downwards which releases the piston from the openings of the test piece and which allows the liquid to be introduced into the cavity of the test piece. As soon as the test tube is filled, the intermediate element is released, which automatically returns the piston to the closed position under the action of the spring. The test piece and the intermediate element are then come out of the tank being cleaned by the cleaning gasket. The operator manually actuates the release element so as to release the actuating rod from the action of the spring, which allows the bayonet lugs to be released by rotation from the bayonet openings. The test piece is unscrewed from the intermediate element and during this operation the piston remains held in the closed position by the action of the friction force of the seal. As soon as the test piece is disengaged from the intermediate element, the operator installs the upper cap on the test piece for transport to the laboratory. In the laboratory, the sliding cap is removed, by mechanical means, and the liquid contained in the test tube can flow into a container.
Figure 8 shows the sampling device which is actuated by an actuating device. In practice, the sampling device can also be actuated manually without an actuating device.
