Trim for open staircase stair edges, comprising right-angled sections (5, 5') whose arms (5a, 5b) are designed to be mounted on the stair edge facing (3) parallel to the horizontal and vertical stair faces, respectively, the said arms having an essentially flat profile and being designed to mate to the external angle of the stairs covering only the stair edge facing, a link section (9, 9') providing continuity between two adjacent right-angled sections (5, 5'), this link section (9) also being of right-angular shape and comprising a means of attaching to two adjacent arms of two consecutive right-angle sections.
  2. Trim according to claim 1, whereby each of the arms (9a) of the link section (9) forms a sleeve designed to accept each arm (5a, 5b) of the right-angle trim sections (5) by sliding.
  3. Trim according to claims 1 or 2, whereby each right-angle section (5, 5') comprises a means (7a, 7b) of fixing the position of one of its arms relative to the horizontal face of the staircase (3) and of the other relative to the vertical face of the staircase (3).
  4. Trim according to claim 3, whereby the positioning means is constituted by tabs (7a, 7b), perpendicular to the plane of the right-angle trim section (5, 5'), which are aligned parallel to the overall direction of each of its arms (5a, 5b).
  5. Trim according to claims 3 or 4, whereby the means designed to achieve the positioning (7a, 7b) also serves to mount the trim section onto the stair.
  6. Trim according to claim 5, whereby the right-angle link section (9) comprises substantially shorter arms (9a) than those of the right-angle trim sections.
  7. Trim according to claim 1, whereby the right-angle section (5, 5') comprises a stub (19), located close to its apex and protruding perpendicular to the plane of its two arms (5a, 5b), which is designed to locate into a hole (8) for this purpose in the end of the stair tread bracket (6).
