      characterised in that since the strips are made of a soft material, preferably wood, the web (7) of the assembly section (2) has at least one projection (13) projecting in the direction of at least one of the edges of the said strips so as to provide a gap, between the web (7) of the section and the edge of the strip, capable of mitigating the dimensional variations of the strip due, for example, to inclement weather and in that the fixing baseplate (4) of the assembly section has a, preferably chamfered, hole (5) made closest to the web of the said section to prevent the assembly section (2) being pulled out of the support (3).

      characterised in that the assembly sections (2) are in the form of a continuous section made up of a single fixing baseplate (4) fixed to the support (3), said baseplate (4) being provided at regular intervals with coupling elements, for the facing, made in one piece with the baseplate and comprising a web (7) perpendicular to the baseplate (4) and a holding bracket (6) perpendicular to the web (7).

      characterised in that the holding bracket (6) and/or the baseplate (4) of the assembly section (2) is in the form of a spring clip.
    5. Facing according to Claim 1,
      characterised in that the holding bracket (6) of the assembly section (2) has at least, at one of its ends, a projection (11) forming a clip to limit the play of the assembly section either inside the assembly groove (10) or in the tongue (8)/rebate (9) coupling region, while mitigating the dimensional variations of the strips.
    6. Facing according to Claim 1,
      characterised in that the edges of the said strips have, in the vicinity of their joint plane in the surface forming the surface by which the strips bear on the support (3), recesses (12) to allow the fixing baseplate (4) of the assembly section (2) to be arranged flush with the surface plane defined by the said strips in the assembled position.
