Description

The invention relates to a sewing machine with a adjustable head module according to the preamble of Claim 1.

Sewing machines with a modular structure are known. she usually consist of different assemblies, which are manufactured decentrally and then be assembled. Assembling the different Assemblies require extensive adjustment work and more a very precise formation of the connection points between the individual assemblies. In the further is the Adjustment between the assembly carrying the needle and the assembly receiving the gripper is difficult. A not optimal setting of these two assemblies can to skipped stitches and broken needles and of course too lead to an incorrect stitch formation. A modular sewing machine, for example, is out known from DE-C2-34 21 995. This includes a housing a work piece support plate and a support arm, the is arranged above the work piece support plate. The Workpiece support plate takes the gripper and the Workpiece feed mechanism on, is in the support arm Needle bar, the presser foot drive and Thread tensioner housed. In the housing are the Drive motor, the drive shaft and the drive elements, which the needle bar, the presser foot bar and the Drive the hook and the sewing material transport device used. The three modules are connected by screws and - since there are no adjustment devices are present - are based on the accuracy in the Manufacture of fasteners for the three Assembly parts made extremely high demands. A similar device is known from US-A 4,590,875 known, where also to a receiving the drives Housing on the support arm an assembly with the needle bar and the presser drive and an assembly underneath with the gripper and with the material transport is screwable. Also with this device the precision of the individual assemblies is extremely high Requirements because an adjustment of the individual Assemblies not or only to a small extent and with time expenditure is possible.

The object of the present invention is to create a Sewing machine with an adjustable head module that inexpensive and independent of the machine housing producible and on the latter after its attachment is easily adjustable with respect to the gripper device.

This task is solved by a sewing machine according to the features of claim 1.

The head module according to the invention can be on Machine body both in the sewing direction and across adjust the latter in a simple way and in the exact Lock adjusted position. The adjustment enables an exact setting of the needle with respect to the hook, without the machine parts to be connected or Assembly parts in advance an additional processing of the for example, contact areas made of pressure casting need; they can be assembled in raw condition become. The machine body can therefore without Post-processing with the support plate from one as well not reworked stamped / bent part existing head module get connected.

With reference number 1 in Figure 1 is the machine housing a sewing machine 2 shown in broken lines, which is a machine body 3 at least partially surrounds. The housing 1 can be made of metal or plastic be made. The machine body 3 is preferably made of Die-cast manufactured and carries one inside Drive motor M with drive means 5 for driving a a gripper 7 of the gripper system 8 and overdrive means 9 and 11 for driving the needle bar 13 with the needle 14. The formation of the drive means for the needle bar 13 and the gripper system 7 are from the prior art known; they are therefore not described in detail and only shown schematically.

At the front end 17 of the support arm 19 of the Sewing machine 2, a head module 21 is attached, which the Needle bar 13, the presser foot bar 15 and their guides and the ventilation device for the presser foot rod 15 (only lever 23 visible) contains. Opposite the head module 21, a handwheel 25 can be used manual movement of the needle bar 13 may be arranged. At the front end 29 of a work piece support plate 27 is a Gripper system module 31 fastened with the throat plate 33.

The head module 21, enlarged in FIGS. 2, 3 and 5 shown, comprises a support plate 35, which as a stamped / bent part is designed and necessary Recesses and bores for guiding machine parts and contains for their attachment. The support plate 35 has essentially an L-shaped shape with an upper one horizontally extending first leg 37 and one vertical second leg 39. On the horizontal first legs 37 are two horizontally extending, after beads 41 formed on the outside. In the central part the beads 41 is one, the beads 41 in two sections separating, elongated hole 43 attached, through which one Screw 45 in threaded holes 47 on the machine body 3 can be screwed in. In the vertical leg 39 is another vertically extending recess 48 punched out which the presser foot lifting lever 23 can be passed through. A threaded bore 49 is located to the side of the recess 48 formed, into which an adjusting screw 51 can be screwed which is held on the machine body 3 in a bore 59 is.

A further vertically extending slot 53 can be formed in the support plate 35 between the two pairs of beads 41, in which the head of an eccentric pin 55 engages, which is rotatably mounted in a bore 57 in the machine body 3. By turning the eccentric pin 55, the head module 21 can be adjusted in the direction of the arrows B.
On the machine body 3, of which only the front 4 and part of the top surface 6 are visible in FIG. 4, ribs 61 are formed on the side of the two threaded bores 47 for the screws 45, which ribs are intended to engage in the beads 41 from behind when the head -Module 21 is attached to the machine body 3.

In the front view of the head module 21 according to FIG which is also the machine body 3 is visible at the top Cross section through one of the beads 41 illustrated in FIG which engages the apex of the rib 61 from behind. The support plate 35 is therefore only on the apex of the Rib 61 on the machine body 3. The vertex of the rib 61 thus forms a pivot bearing around which the head module 21 by adjusting screw 51 in the direction of arrows A is pivotable. The fastening screws 45 hold the support plate 35 initially with low contact pressure the ribs 61 firmly. On the second leg 39 the Support plate 35 engages the adjusting screw 51 in the Threaded bore 49 on the support plate 35. A spring 63, one end of which is at the rear of the support plate 35 rests and the other end of it on the machine body 3 is supported, presses the support plate 35 from Machine body away. The coil spring 63 is preferably on the screw shaft of the adjusting screw 51 put on. Enough space around the spring 63 axially offer, the machine body 3 in the area of Guide bore 59 for the adjusting screw 51 with a Depression 65 may be provided.

In the following, the assembly of the head module 21 on Support arm 19 explained. The support plate 35 is with the two screws 45 connected to the support arm 19 without the Tighten screws 45 from the start. At the same time the adjusting screw 51 in the threaded bore 49 on the Support plate 35 screwed in. With the eccentric screw 55 the head module 21 is now adjusted transversely to Sewing direction (arrows B) and then with the Adjusting screw 51 in the sewing direction (arrows A). As soon as the Location of the head module 21 or the needle 14 with respect to the Gripper system 7 is precisely defined, the two Fastening screws 45 tightened. That way the head module 21 or the needle 14 with a Adjust the accuracy of hundredths of a millimeter.
