- the present invention relates to a device for the presentation of images, posters or any other type of document.
- the presentation of any images, posters, photos or documents in a frame is carried out in many ways that meet aesthetic criteria, but also ease of installation and cost price.
- the frames according to the prior art often consist of a profile assembled into a rectangular frame, of a sheet of glass or of transparent synthetic material, of a support panel, and of various accessories ensuring mounting and fixing. In general, these systems provide efficient mounting, but do not allow the frame to be removed quickly and easily, for example, to replace the document to be displayed.
- Such an easy replacement of the document is an advantage sought in applications such as the display, in public places, of semi-permanent information, for example timetables, prices, programs, menus.
- the frames according to the prior art are most often intended to be applied to an opaque support such as a wall. In some applications, it is desirable to be able to display documents on both sides of the frame. Such a frame can then be applied to a window pane, or held in space, so that its two faces can be observed.
- US Pat. No. 4,385,744 discloses a frame allowing theft-proof mounting on a wall.
- the mounting on a wall is ensured by two fixed supports engaging in a groove made on the rear face of the upper part of the frame, and by a latch mechanism engaging in a groove made on the face back of the lower part of the frame.
- This support mechanism is invisible and inaccessible. It requires a special tool for disassembly.
- This patent discloses a mounting mechanism on a wall, but does not describe an easy document replacement mechanism.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a framework which allows easy and rapid replacement of the displayed document.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a frame which can show a document both on its front face and on its rear face, when it is applied to a transparent support such as a window pane or held in space.
- the present invention relates to a device for the presentation of plan documents, allowing the replacement of the document by opening and closing the device, comprising a bottom element, a document, possibly protected by a transparent plate and a frame capable of surrounding the background element.
- the frame has a clean rim to rest on the periphery of the document or of the transparent plate.
- the bottom element comprises one or more fixing elements capable of securing the frame to one bottom element each comprising an element likely to deform elastically. Each element liable to deform elastically applies, when the device is in the closed state, a clamping force on the frame, causing, in reaction, the clamping of the document possibly protected by a transparent plate, between the rim and the element background.
- the frame comprises on at least two of its internal faces, a groove capable of cooperating with the fastening elements.
- these fastening elements are ball latches.
- the frame can consist of an assembly of aluminum profiles.
- the bottom element may include an interior frame consisting of an assembly of profiles, for example aluminum, and a plate.
- the plate can be transparent, for example PVC, or an opaque material such as chipboard.
- the bottom element is a solid panel, which can be made up of agglomerated wood particles, such as the "Medium Density Fibreboard” (M.D.F.).
- the bottom element comprises a plate and at least one insert.

- the thickness of the bottom element 3 and the position of the groove 11 of the frame 2 are such that the element of bottom 3 comes out slightly behind the frame 2 when the device 1 is assembled, thus leaving a space between the wall 4 and the frame 2. This arrangement facilitates disassembly of the device.
- the assembly of the profiles of the frame 2 is carried out permanently, for example by crimping steel brackets inserted in the groove 11.
- These profiles can be made by extrusion of aluminum, be made of material synthetic or any other suitable material.
- the transparent plate 7 is either a sheet of polystyrene or polycarbonate with a thickness which can vary from 0.5 to 2 mm, or a glass sheet with a thickness which can vary from 1.5 to 2.5 mm.
- the bottom element 3 which is full in the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 3, can be made of any material in which lateral perforations intended to contain the body of the latches are easily achievable.
- One such material is, for example, "Medium Density Fiberboard” (M.D.F.).
- the bottom panel 3 has a thickness which can vary from 10 to 20 mm. The thickness must be sufficient to be able to fix the latches 9 in its edges. Latches 9 with balls 10 are known in the furniture industry and are available in various models and dimensions.
- the type of latch used in the first embodiment of the device 1 according to the present invention is the type to be built in.
- the bottom element 13 comprises a plate 14 and inserts 15 (only one of which is shown in the Figure).
- the inserts 15 can be fixed on a support (for example a wall or a window) by any suitable means.

- the assembly of the angles of the inner frame can be carried out, for example, by crimping or screwing steel brackets into the groove 19.
- This groove 19 can also be used to insert one or more frame hanging accessories, for hanging the frame on a nail or using a cable.
- the plate 14 can be an opaque plate, of the same kind as the bottom panel 3 of the first embodiment shown, either in M.D.F. or PVC. It can also consist of a transparent plate, of the same kind as the transparent plate 7.
