Gemäß Figur 1 wird eine auf einer nicht näher dargestellten Webmaschine hergestellte Gewebebahn 8 nacheinander über einen Gewebebreithalter 16, bestehend aus der Kombination einer Gewebestütze 16a mit einem Nadelbreithalter 16b, über eine erste Welle 20 und nachfolgend über eine zweite Welle 21 in Richtung des Pfeiles 22 zu einem nicht dargestellten Warenbaum geführt auf diesem aufgewickelt.
Parallel zum Prozess der Gewebebildung wird an den Rändern der Gewebebahn 8 eine feste Gewebekante 8a hergestellt und wenigstens ausgangsseitig des Webfaches eine sogenannte Fangleiste 15 produziert, in der das Ende jedes Schussfadens 15a fest abgebunden ist, siehe auch Figur 2.
Die Gewebebahn 8 und die Fangeleiste 15 sind bis zum Passieren einer von einem maschinenfesten Träger 17 getragenen Schneideinrichtung 1 durch die Schussfäden 15a miteinander verbunden.
Gemäß dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren wird die Gewebekante 8a des Gewebes 8 auf einer vorbestimmten Länge in einem ersten Arbeitsschritt durch Schneiden von der Fangleiste 15 freigeschnitten.
Nach dem Freischneiden der Gewebekante 8a kommt eine mit der in Richtung der Gewebekante 8a federbelasteten Schneideinrichtung 1 verbundenes und relativ zur Gewebebahn 8 einstellbares Führungselement 9 mit der Gewebekante 8a in Kontakt, wodurch die Schneidmittel 3,5 der Schneideinrichtung 1 bzw. die Schneideinrichtung 1 selbst der Gewebekante 8a nachführbar ist. Dabei ist es für das Nachführen unerheblich, ob Gewebe mit einer geringen oder hohen Schussdichte hergestellt werden.
Zum Nachführen ist die Schneideinrichtung erfindungsgemäß, wie nachfolgend beschrieben, ausgebildet.

After the tissue edge 8a has been cut free, a guide element 9, which is connected to the cutting device 1 which is spring-loaded in the direction of the fabric edge 8a and is adjustable relative to the fabric web 8, comes into contact with the tissue edge 8a, as a result of which the cutting means 3, 5 of the cutting device 1 and the cutting device 1 itself Fabric edge 8a is trackable. It is irrelevant for tracking whether fabrics with a low or high weft density are produced.
According to the invention, the cutting device is designed for tracking, as described below.

An einem maschinenfest angeordneten Träger 17, am besten zu sehen in Figur 5, ist um die Mittenachse 7a der mit dem Träger 17 verbundenen Drehachse 7 die Schneideinrichtung 1 zwischen einer ersten und einer zweiten Endbegrenzung 11,12 schwenkbar angeordnet, siehe auch Figur 2.
Die Schneideinrichtung 1 besteht aus dem Schwenkkörper 18, der um die vorgenannte Mittenachse 7a der Drehachse 7 drehbeweglich gelagert ist.
Der Schwerkkörper 18 trägt beabstandet von der Drehachse 7 den Antrieb 4, der im Ausführungsbeispiel ein elektromotorischer Antrieb ist.
Mit dem Schwenkkörper 18 sind ferner die feststehende Schneidklinge 3 sowie der Schneidklingenträger 2 mittels der Schrauben 19 verbunden.
Der Schneidklingenträger 2, der parallel neben der beweglichen Schneidklinge 5 liegt, trägt den Klingenbolzen 6, um dessen Mittenachse 6a die Schneidklinge 5 beweglich ist. Beabstandet von der Mittenachse 6a des Klingenbolzens 6 steht die Schneidklinge 5 mit einem exzentrisch zur Mittenachse 4b der Welle 4a des Antriebes 4 gelegenen Mitnehmer 4c in Verbindung.
Um nun die Nachteile der vorbekannten Schneideinrichtung zu vermeiden, ist erfindungsgemäß an einem feststehenden Teil der Schneideinrichtung 1 ein mit der Kante 8a des Gewebes 8 in Kontakt stehendes Führungselement 9 angeordnet, siehe auch Figur 2. Das Führungsteil 9 besteht gemäß Figur 4 aus einem endseitig ein etwa u-förmiges Profil 9a tragenden Stift 9b.
Gemäß Figur 3 und 4 ist der Stift 9b in der Führung 10c eines Haltemittels 10 verstellbar aufgenommen und mittels einer Klemmschraube 10b arretierbar.
Das Haltemittel 10 ist in Fortführung seiner Längsmittenachse 10a in Art einer Schraube ausgebildet. Das Schraubenteil ist an dem Schneidklingenträger 2 mittels der Muttern 10d und 10e befestigt.

Spaced from the center axis 6a of the blade bolt 6, the cutting blade 5 is connected to a driver 4c eccentrically to the center axis 4b of the shaft 4a of the drive 4.
In order to avoid the disadvantages of the known cutting device, according to the invention a guide element 9 which is in contact with the edge 8a of the fabric 8 is arranged on a fixed part of the cutting device 1, see also FIG. 2. According to FIG. 4, the guide part 9 consists of an end approximately U-shaped profile 9a supporting pin 9b.
According to FIGS. 3 and 4, the pin 9b is adjustably received in the guide 10c of a holding means 10 and can be locked by means of a clamping screw 10b.
The retaining means 10 is designed in the manner of a screw in continuation of its longitudinal center axis 10a. The screw part is fastened to the cutting blade carrier 2 by means of the nuts 10d and 10e.

Gemäß Figur 5 ist auf dem freien Ende des maschinenfesten Trägers 17, der den Klingenträger 2, die Schneidklinge 3, die Schneidklinge 5 und den Antrieb 4 tragende Schwerkkörper 18 schwenkbar um die Mittenachse 7a der Drehachse 7 aufgenommen. Die Drehachse 7 durchgreift dabei vertikal im Bereich des freien Endes den Träger 17 derart, dass die Enden der Drehachse 7 die Schwenklagerung für die Schneideinrichtung 1 insgesamt bildet.
In einem wählbarem Abstand von der Mittenachse 7a der Drehachse 7 ist zwischen dem Träger 17 und dem Schwenkkörper 18 ein Federelement 14 integriert, das auf den Schwenkkörper 18 und damit auf die gesamte Schneideinrichtung 1 permanent ein Drehmoment um die Mittenachse 7a erzeugt.
Das Drehmoment gewährleistet, dass das Führungselement 9 die Schneideinrichtung 1 der freigeschnittenen Gewebekante 8 nachführt.
Bei dem Federelement 14 handelt es sich vorzugsweise um eine Druckfeder, die in einer Aufnahme 18a des Schwenkkörpers 18 gehalten ist und am Träger 17 flächig bei 13 angreift und wobei deren Kraft mittels eines in dem Schwenkkörper 18 einschraubbaren und durch eine Mutter 14b arretierbaren Gewindestiftes 14a einstellbar ist.
