the channels (41) are bores whose respective half-bores (42 or 43) are formed in the exchangeable portion (23) and/or the holding portion (27). - Side strips according to Claim 8,

several channels (41) are provided, which are formed in a meander pattern and of which at least one half-bore (42) is connected to the coolant inlet (44) and another half-bore (43) is connected to the coolant outlet (45). - Side strips according to any of the preceding claims,

the shanks (24) of the U-shaped exchangeable portion (23) converge on the side facing away from the mould cavity (13) and, in respect of their surface shape, correspond to the inside wall of the wide sides (11 or 12) in the adjustment area of the side strips (21, 22). - Process for the exchange of the narrow sides in adjustable plate moulds for the continuous casting of slabs, in particular for steel, which can be clamped between the wider sides of the mould and are joined to an adjustment device on the side facing away from the mould cavity and in which the part of the side strip facing the mould cavity is made of copper, in which a mould with side strips according to any of the above claims is used,
characterised in that
when the clamping of the side strips by the wide sides has been released and the connections to the coolant inlets and outlets and the connection of the adjustment device to the holding portions have been undone, the exchangeable portion of the side strip made of copper is pulled out essentially parallel to the direction in which the strand emerges, and a new exchangeable portion is put back in and clamped in position.
