Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the manufacture of packaging boxes, in particular cardboard packaging boxes, generally made by the seller of the packaged product, from two flat blanks each combined with a holding piece, a first intended to become a bottom portion and a second intended to become a portion of the cover of the packaging, intended to fit over the bottom portion.
  • packaging boxes are commonly used in the confectionery industry but their use is absolutely not limited to this particular use.
  • Document FR-A-2,539,708 discloses a combination of blank and holding piece according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • an element carrier consisting of a piece of thermoformed synthetic material is generally arranged in the bottom portion of the box, the carrier element having cells in which the confectionery pieces are arranged.
  • the tools required to make this load-bearing element are expensive, making the user limited to a limited number of types load-bearing elements, respectively of box formats and arrangements and / or the size of the confectionery pieces inside the box.
  • a first object of the invention is therefore to propose a draft flat for a portion of packaging, not meeting the drawbacks of blanks known from the prior art, that is to say using a minimum of raw material and requiring no gluing.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a blank combined with a holding piece for the production of a portion of packaging box requiring no parts additional synthetic material, allowing further, from specific blanks as well as adaptable holding pieces of simple manufacturing, to easily vary the format and / or dimensions and / or the number of items to be packed.
  • Yet another object of the invention is to provide packaging whose design is simplified in relation to known packaging, that is to say offering the same thermal and mechanical protection without requiring a additional mattress of complex composition.
  • FIG. 1 there is a blank 1 according to the prior art shown in dish.
  • the blank 1 comprises a central panel 10, generally in the form quadrangular, here a rectangle whose dimensions of the sides correspond essentially the dimensions of the finished box.
  • the central panel 10 is limited in particular by panels which are used to make two walls front 11 and two side walls 12 of the finished box.
  • Panels of corners 13 connect portions of panels 11A and 12A which are themselves directly adjacent to the central panel 10.
  • the portions 11A and 11B intended to form a front wall 11 are connected by a fold line. We see on the right portion of the figure that the portion 11B has been folded over the portion 11A, on which it is held by gluing.
  • the front wall 11 on the left in the figure is constituted in the same way.
  • the portion of box, bottom or cover is obtained by erecting the portions of panels 11A and 12A perpendicular to the plane of the central panel 10, by folding the corner panels 13 inwards and folding them against the portions of panels 12A. Then the panel portions 12B are folded over the portions of panels 12A in order to cover them, this movement causing the portions of panels 12C to fold in opposite directions and apply on the central panel 10.
  • the portions of 12B panels each include a 12D ear on each of their sides side, while the portions of panels 11B each comprise a indentation 11C on their lateral sides.
  • Figure 2 which shows a box according to the prior art fully assembled shows in particular the bottom portion 20 on which we see in particular a front wall 12 assembled as described above.
  • the cover portion 21 is also assembled exactly as previously described from a similar draft, the only difference residing in the dimensions of the bottom panel and the heights of the walls side so that the cover portion 21 can fit and cover fully the bottom portion 20 when the box 2 is closed.
  • the face upper visible from the outside as well as possibly the visible sides side walls visible from the outside can be printed or with motifs reminding the packaged product, and / or the brand, and / or any advertising or other indication.
  • the box 2 further comprises a carrier element 22, generally made of thermoformed synthetic material, comprising cells 22A each having a bottom 22B which rests on the central panel 10 of the bottom portion 20 of the box. Box 2 is also complete with a protective element 23 or cushion, making a mattress thermal and impact protection.
  • FIG. 3A represents a flat blank 3 of a shape preferential execution of the invention. It also includes a panel central 30 as well as panels to form the front and side walls of the bottom portion or the cover portion of the box.
  • the signs 31, here formed in a single portion are simply folded along the line folding which connect them to the central panel 30, the portions 33 forming the corners then being folded inwards along the plane of the side walls. These are obtained by folding the portions of panels 32A along the fold lines which connect them to the central panel 30, then folding the portions of panels 32B on top portions of panels 32A on top the portions 33 already folded as indicated above, so that that the edge portions 32C of the panel portions 32B come to bear on the central panel 30.
  • each portion of panel 32B comprises at least one notch 32D between the two edge portions 32C.
  • the function of this notch will be described below.
  • an opening 34 arranged on the central panel 30, its usefulness being also described below.
  • FIG. 3B represents a holding part 4 of a blank 3 intended to form the cover portion of the box and mounted as indicated above.
  • the part 4 is formed by a central panel 40, having basically a shape and dimensions allowing it to be slid to the inside of the cover portion mounted and including two side edges opposite each comprise at least one projection 41 whose length and position correspond to the length and position of the notch 32D seen upper.
  • the holding part 4 is slid into said preform assembled, the projections 41 each being engaged in the notch which corresponds to him.
  • the height of each notch 32D corresponds essentially the thickness of the projection 41, respectively of the piece of holding 4, so that it is properly pressed against the panel central 30 of the blank 3.
  • the edge portions 42 surrounding the projection 41 then come to rest against the portion of panel 32B folded over the portion of panel 32A and keep it pressed against the latter.
  • the holding piece 4 therefore serves firstly to hold the blank 3 forming the cover portion in assembled state.
  • the central panel 30 can have an opening 34; in this case, the face of the central panel 40 of the holding part 4 facing against the blank 3 includes a representation graphic 43, such as an image, logo or other indication that becomes then visible from outside the box, through the opening 34.
  • a representation graphic 43 such as an image, logo or other indication that becomes then visible from outside the box, through the opening 34.
  • the holding part 4 can also replace the protective mattress or pad 23 of art boxes prior.
  • the holding part 4 is preferably made of micro-corrugated cardboard thus offering a thermal protection effect as well as mechanical protection of the objects contained in the box.
  • FIG. 3C represents another holding part 5, of a blank 3 intended to form the bottom portion of the box and mounted as indicated above.
  • the part 5 is formed by a central panel 50, having essentially a shape and dimensions allowing it to be slid to the inside of the bottom portion of the mounted packaging, including two borders opposite sides each have a projection 51 whose length and position correspond to the length and position of the notch 32D corresponding view above.
  • the holding part 5 comprises two edge panels 53 on the edges of the central panel 50 do not not having projections 51, each of said edge panels 53 being connected to the central panel 50 by a fold line or a rib.
  • the height of each notch 32D here is greater than the thickness of the piece of holding 5.
  • each notch 32D therefore has a height such that the projection 51 which corresponds to it can follow this elevation of the holding part 5.
  • the edge portions 52 surrounding the projection 51 then come to rest against the portion of panel 32B folded over the portion of panel 32A and keep it pressed against the latter.
  • the holding piece 5 therefore serves firstly to hold the blank 3 forming the bottom portion of the box in the assembled state.
  • the central panel 50 of the holding part 5 comprises one or more several cutouts 54 whose shape essentially corresponds to a periphery an object, in particular a piece of confectionery.
  • the figure shows several possible forms, others being obviously also possible.
  • Each retaining part may have one or more cutouts 54 of shapes different, as shown, or of identical shapes. Since like indicated above, the holding part 5 is kept spaced from the central panel 30, the confectionery pieces arranged in the cutouts 54, bear on the one hand on said central panel 30 and are retained laterally on the contour of the corresponding cut. Holding piece 5 fills so here the same function as the carrier element 22 of the box according to art prior.
  • the projections 41 of the holding part 4 of the cover portion and / or the projections 51 of the holding part 5 of the bottom portion can be provided with a complementary panel 41A, respectively 51A, separated from said projection by a fold line, the panels 41A, 51A being intended to be folded under the corresponding projections in order to improve their retention in the corresponding notches and thus improve the stability of this portion of box in the assembled state.
  • FIG. 4 shows a box 6 according to the invention completely Assembly.
  • the box 6 includes a bottom portion 60 on which we see in particular a side wall 32 assembled as described above.
  • the retaining part 5 is placed in the bottom portion 60, the projections 51 being to be introduced into the corresponding 32D notches of the portion of bottom 60.
  • the border panels 53 folded under the central panel 50 and acting as a spring to move said holding part 5 away from the face internal of the bottom panel 30.
  • the cover portion 61 is assembled exactly as previously described from a similar draft, the the only difference is in the dimensions of the bottom panel and the heights of the side walls so that the cover portion 61 can fit together and completely cover the bottom portion 60 when the box 6 is closed.
  • the projections 41 of the holding part 4 are to be introduced into the corresponding notches (not visible in this figure) of the side walls 32 of the cover portion 6, the holding part 4 then being pressed as indicated above against the internal face of the central panel of the cover portion 61.
  • the upper face visible from outside the cover portion is here provided with an opening 34 through which a pattern 43 printed on the upper face of the holding part 4 is visible.
  • the opening 34, respectively the pattern 43 are not necessarily arranged in the center of the visible upper face.
  • FIG. 5A represents a particular embodiment of a holding part 5 of a bottom portion of the box.
  • This holding piece is mainly intended to modify, respectively decrease the space available inside the box. This can be useful when the confectioner possession of blanks as described above for making of a box, find that this box is a little too big for the products it want to pack there.
  • the holding part 5 here comprises a central panel 50 of width less than that of the central panel of the corresponding room described in FIG. 3C, respectively that of the central panel 30 of roughing.
  • the central panel 50 also includes one or more cutouts 54, as well as the projections 51.
  • the projections 51 are of preferably provided with complementary panels 51A described above.
  • FIG. 5B is a portion of a cross section of an assembly of a piece of maintenance 5 and a portion of bottom. We see a portion of a portion of bottom assembled, respectively the panel 31 forming the folded front wall perpendicular to the central panel 30, as well as the holding part 5 folded so as to limit the width available in the box.
  • the panel 57 is placed parallel to the wall 31, its width generally corresponding to the height of said wall, that panel 56, generally called sidewalk, preferably comes flush with the edge wall 31 and perpendicular to it, and that the panel 55 has a width less than that of panel 57, so that the central panel 50 is raised relative to the central panel 30 as explained for the first embodiment of the assembly of a bottom portion.
  • the projections 51 are provided with tabs 51A so to keep the central panel 50 of the holding part parallel to the central panel 30 of the bottom portion of the package. So we see that the width available inside the box is reduced by twice the width sidewalks 56. Alternatively, it would also be possible to have this type assembly comprising a sidewalk 56 only on one side of the piece of maintenance 5.
  • FIGS. 6A, 6B and 6C show an alternative embodiment of a blank 3, and a retaining piece 5 for another type of assembly also allowing a reduction in the width available in the box.
  • the blank 3 of Figure 6A, provided for a portion of the bottom of the box is similar to that of FIG. 3A, except that the panels 31 are limited on the outside by a panel 31A, of lesser width, from which they are separated by a fold line, at least one slot 31 B being fitted on said fold line.
  • the holding part 5 of FIG. 6B is similar to that of FIG. 5A, except that the panels 57 are replaced by one or more tabs 56A intended to cooperate with or slots 31B of the blank 3, as seen in Figure 6C.
  • the blanks 3 intended for making either a portion of the bottom 60, or a cover portion 61 of a box 6, as well as the pieces of holding 4 and 5 are preferably obtained from cardboard.
  • the holding part 4 is preferably made of micro-corrugated cardboard in order to improve the thermal and impact protection effect of this piece.
  • the holding part 5, according to any one of the forms described above, is also preferably obtained from micro-corrugated cardboard, in particular to improve the spring effect of the edge panels 53.
  • the surfaces of the blanks 3 and of the holding pieces 4 and 5 in contact with the objects contained in the box are preferably covered a laminated layer, preferably a laminated layer of polyester or a other material, serving as hygienic protection of said objects. These layers can be colored to improve the aesthetic appearance of the box.
  • the surfaces of the components of the box not in contact with the objects, in particular the surfaces of the blanks 3 which will be visible from the exterior when the box is mounted can be all or some of them, left as they are, printed or also covered with a layer laminated.
  • a blank 3 according to the invention as described above comprises numerous advantages relative to a blank 1 according to the prior art.
  • the height of the box according to the prior art cannot be less than a minimum value; indeed, by the assembly by the ears 12D in the notches 11C, the remaining portion of the portion height of panel 11B beyond the notch 11C must be sufficient sized to obtain sufficient mechanical strength.
  • the assembly system of known boxes requires a determined height minimum of the side walls of the box, even if the objects contained in the box, respectively the pieces of confectionery would require a height less. This effect is further accentuated in boxes known by the presence of the mattress piece 23 which may have a few mm. thick.
  • Another advantage of the blank according to the invention is that it does not require no additional part, such as the carrying element 22 made of material synthetic, this part being replaced by the holding part 5 made of cardboard.
  • the mattress 23, of complex construction is also replaced by a holding piece 4 made of cardboard and very simple construction.
  • the holding part 5 made of cardboard it is very easy for the user, respectively the confectioner, to make cuts there 54 according to his needs or modify the width of the sidewalks 56 with very simple tools, which is also a considerable advantage relative to the load-bearing element 22 which does not can be adapted only at the cost of an expensive mold.
  • the presence of the cut 34 on the central panel of the cover portion allows to vary the presentation of the box, simply by changing the graphic representation 43 on the holding part 4.
  • the box has been described as being rectangular section, respectively the central panels 30 of the blanks 3 being rectangular.
  • Other polygonal shapes can also be envisaged, the distribution of the edges of the holding pieces 4 or 5 associated with projections 41 or 51 being adapted accordingly.
  • the three borders include at least one projection, while for one more large number of borders, some may not have a projection.
  • it is not essential to have only one projection 41 or 51 on a border we could have more than one, the rest of the length of the border then serving as support edges 42 or 52.
