Definitions
- the invention relates to a shin guard, in particular a soccer shin guard, with ankle stabilization.
- Shin guards When playing football, players usually use so-called "shin guards" (Tibia schooner) worn with a shin guard Cover at least a lower area of the lower leg of the Have the shin guards of the athlete wearing them towards the front.
- the shin guard is placed on the shin and through a normal stocking (neck) worn over it in his Position held.
- Shin guards are also known, on their a stocking with an open toe part attached to the bottom Should prevent the protective shield from slipping.
- Shin guards with one to be placed on the outside of the stocking
- Protective shield with a textile cuff part at its lower end having. The textile cuff part is intended for the lower leg to reach around in the transition area to the foot.
- One on the protective shield attached tape is used to grip around the lower leg and thereby holding the protective shield on the lower leg. To slide up to prevent the protective shield from reaching under the foot Tape provided.
- a shin guard in particular Football shin guards to be designed so that they have an ankle stabilization function executes or at least on such contributes.
- a shin guard especially a soccer shin guard, including a shin guard for covering at least a lower region of the lower leg of a wearer of the Shin guards towards the front and at least one inside of the foot or / and at least one outside with the foot
- Protective shield directly or indirectly connected tension element for transmission at least tensile forces between the wearer's foot and / or one assigned shoe, which pull element a pivoting movement of the Foot or shoe relative to the lower leg of the wearer
- the protective shield has holding means, in particular comprising at least one tether for gripping the lower leg, through which the protective shield is at least related to the lower leg in the longitudinal direction acting forces can be fixed on the lower leg is, and that the at least one tension element is formed in such a way and is arranged by transmission of traction and, if necessary, by Transmission of pressure force between the protective shield on the one hand and the shoe or / and foot on the other hand the mobility of the foot relative to Lower leg in the sense of limiting or /
- the protective shield in the shin guard according to the invention can be firmly attached to the lower leg. So that about at least one tensile element and possibly compressive forces from Foot or shoe on the protective shield and from there to Lower leg transferred and introduced into this.
- the at least one tension element is designed and arranged that the traction transmission according to the invention and optionally Pressure force transmission between the protective shield (and thus lower leg) on the one hand and shoe or / and foot on the other hand mobility of the foot relative to the lower leg so restricted that the risk of Injuries due to at least one injury-prone type of movement is at least significantly reduced.
- restricted mobility of the foot is for example limiting or / and - at least for large movement amplitudes - slowing down / complicating the at least one injury-prone type of movement, in particular an inversion / supination movement and / or an eversion / pronation movement of the foot to understand.
- inversion / supination movements and eversion / pronation movements of the foot are comparatively severely injured. It are the following movements of the foot relative to the Lower leg: During pronation there is an outward rotation of the foot (Lifting the outer edge and lowering the inner edge of the foot) around a longitudinal axis of the foot instead of. An inward rotation (lowering the outer and lifting the inner edge of the foot) around the longitudinal axis of the foot.
- inversion denotes a composite movement from a Supination movement and a so-called adduction movement and a so-called plantar flexion movement.
- the plantar flexion is called a pivoting movement of the foot around the approximately transverse Axis of the upper ankle, where the back of the foot extends from the Lower leg front removed.
- the Eversion movement is also a compound movement, the result from the pronation movement mentioned and a so-called Abduction movement and a so-called dorsiflexion movement put together.
- the foot turns during an abduction movement again around the vertical axis already mentioned, but now with a Movement of the toe away from the plane of symmetry in the lateral direction.
- the foot swivels around the aforementioned approximately transverse axis in the opposite direction the plantar flexion, so that the back of the foot of the lower leg front surface is approaching.
- a first axis is the axis of the upper one Ankle, which is approximately transverse through the inner and the outer ankle of the foot runs, so according to the light Offset of the two ankles in the longitudinal direction of the foot (the inside of the foot Ankle is opposite to the ankle in the longitudinal direction of the foot offset to the front) slightly oblique from the lateral (outside of the foot) to the rear medial (inside of foot) in front.
- the second, the mobility of the foot relative to the lower leg is the main characteristic axis so-called "Henkesche axis '', which is obliquely from the lateral (outside of the foot) in the lower back to the medial (inside of the foot) in the upper front and with the called the axis of the upper ankle a kind of heterokinetic Cardan joint forms.
- the muscles grouped around the two axes can now essentially cause two movements: the one already mentioned '' Inversion '', which plantar flexes the foot and medially the sole of the foot oriented and inevitably with a supination and an adduction movement is combined, as well as the already mentioned '' Eversion '', which the foot dorsiflexed and the sole of the foot looks laterally and inevitably is associated with an abduction and a pronation movement.
- This Movements can also be done by external, on the foot or lower leg acting forces are caused. In case of excessive external forces, for example in the event of an accidental twisting of the Foot, there is a high risk of ankle and ligament injuries, especially the upper ankle.
- the shin guard is now designed to be used alone or in combination with a shoe at least one that is likely to cause injury Type of movement of the foot relative to the lower leg, especially the called inversion or / and supination or / and pronation or / and Eversion, in the sense mentioned and for example excessive external forces, for example due to an accidental twisting of the Foot, at least as far as to intercept and past the upper ankle initiate in the lower leg that the risk of injury at least is significantly reduced.
- the muscular system is generally strong enough in terms of muscle strength, including strong ones absorb external forces.
- the muscular system however, it takes a certain time, for example about 50 ms, for the corresponding To build up opposing forces. External forces then become special dangerous if this occurs within a shorter period of time, for example 30 ms occur, so that the muscles cannot react quickly enough.
- External forces that are inherently different from the Muscles can be intercepted, but increase too quickly as that the muscles could follow this increase and therefore still Can cause injuries, it suffices to the injured To slow movements so far that the muscular system stops rising who can follow external forces.
- the shin guard according to the invention provides alone or together with other components, especially one Shoe, for a corresponding slowdown of excessive relative movements between the foot and the lower leg, natural reflexes can occur Accidents otherwise too late would now be timely and one Prevent injury.
- a type of movement that is prone to injury therefore needs not absolutely in their amplitude of movement (in the sense of a stroke) be limited, but it is sufficient if these - at least for large ones Movement amplitudes - is slowed down, for example by provision corresponding counterforces to complicate the movement.
- especially large external forces that hold the muscles and the ligament apparatus but it can be useful, even one absolute limitation of the movement amplitude in the sense of a stop to provide.
- the lower grip element of the shin guard under the foot be connected to at least tensile forces between the lower gripping element and Transfer protective shield.
- the grip element on the shoe be fixable, in particular on the sole of the shoe, for example by means of Velcro sections.
- Such a definition of the lower gripping element on the shoe is not absolutely necessary, especially if the lower grip element on the inside and outside of the foot via at least a tension element is connected to the protective shield.
- the shoe associated with the shin guard can be included in the power transmission chain, the shoe if necessary can perform a function corresponding to the lower gripping element.
- At least when the shin guards are in use, at least a pulling element as a pivoting movement between the assigned also worn by the wearer and / or the lower grip element on the one hand and the protective shield on the other - possibly in cooperation with the shoe - only allow a swiveling movement, effective by an inside of the foot and / or an outside of the foot Joint zone is defined.
- the respective effective joint zone it can are a spatially precisely localized effective joint zone that is determined, for example, by the position of an associated joint.
- effective localized articulated zone are those for one given spatial localization resulting limitations of Movement of the foot relatively easy relative to the lower leg determinable, so that the interpretation of the shin guard is simplified.
- An inventive limitation of the mobility of the foot relative to the lower leg can also be found without exact localization of the reach the inside and outside of the effective joint zone.
- the foot-outside effective joint zone opposite the effective inner joint area in the longitudinal direction of the foot is moved forward. This can be done, for example can be achieved that a leg portion of the foot-outside tension element opposite a leg section of the inside of the foot Traction element is offset forward in the longitudinal direction of the foot.
- a particularly effective protective effect of the shin guard against the mentioned risk of injury, especially of the upper ankle is achieved when the effective joint outside the foot is offset from the outer ankle, preferably like this far that the effective joint outside the foot opposite a Middle position between the inner and outer ankles forward is offset.
- This can be achieved in that one or the leg section of the foot-outside tension element compared to the outer Ankle is displaced forward, preferably so far that the leg section opposite the middle position between the inner and outer Ankle is shifted forward.
- a reset of the inside of the foot reduces accordingly effective joint area opposite the inner ankle to the back, preferably opposite the central position to the rear, the risk of Pronation damage or eversion damage, especially fractures of the Outer ankle.
- a pronation movement namely, forces are increasingly about that inner traction element from the sole of the foot to the protective shield and accordingly transferred to the lower leg, with a corresponding Braking and a corresponding restriction of the others Eversion or pronation movement of the foot.
- one or the leg portion of the inside of the foot Traction element against the inner ankle preferably against the Middle position, is set back.
- the outer pan or The axis of movement is more or less depending on the size of the offset across to the movement of the tarsus under the upper ankle characterizing Henkeschen axis.
- the foot also rotates around the Henkesche axis, which, however, is oriented through the outer pivot or movement axis increasingly braked, if necessary is blocked. Due to the basic elasticity of the shin guard or / and the associated shoe is initially despite the different Movement axes of the foot on the one hand and shin pads or shoe on the other hand, an inversion or eversion movement of the foot is possible. However, this movement is increasingly increased by the shin pads, possibly in cooperation with the shoe, inhibited. The full According to the further development described, mobility of the foot is Invention is not intended to damage the foot, in particular exclude the ankles and ligaments as much as possible.
- one on the one hand through an effective joint zone and / or one or the leg section of a tension element and on the other hand either through a center point of a connecting section between the outer and inner ankles or through the other effective one Joint zone or / and one or the leg section of a tension element on the other foot side connecting straight line and a transverse foot axis in projection onto a horizontal plane parallel to the transverse foot axis and the longitudinal axis of the foot an angle ⁇ of at least 10 °, preferably of at least 15 ° , more preferably at least 20 °, most preferably at least 30 °.
- the specified connecting path will generally coincide with the "external" pivot or movement axis characterizing the relative mobility between the protective shield or lower leg on the one hand and the foot or shoe on the other, so that reference can be made to the above statements.
- increasing angle ⁇ between the connecting line and foot transverse axis is also seen in the projection onto the horizontal plane angle between Henke shear axis of a hand, approaches and outer link or pivot or movement axis 90 to the 0 angle.
- the inhibition of inversion or eversion movements accordingly begins with increasing angle ⁇ for smaller movement amplitudes.
- the angle ⁇ will not exceed an angle of 80 °; an upper limit of approximately 45 ° is proposed as preferred for the angle ⁇ .
- the described arrangement of the inside of the foot and / or outside of the foot effective joint zone or the leg portion of the outside of the foot Traction element and / or the leg portion of the inside of the foot Traction element ensures that physiologically correct movements still are possible, but slowed down in the event of excessive movement become.
- At least one of the tension elements can have a lower and an upper one Traction element section, in particular a lower and an upper Leg section, which are connected via a joint.
- the joint generally becomes an inside or outside of the foot effective joint zone can be defined.
- At least one joint can be used in the essential vertical joint play.
- the formation of the joint or the joints are diverse Variants conceivable. Examples include the formation of the joint as Hinge pin-recess combination, as a hinge joint, as a material weakening (in particular film joint) with a tension element section other material compared to the rest of the tension element (in particular softer or / and more elastic material) or as a bellows section called.
- At least one of the tension elements can at least in some areas be elastic, in particular as an elastic band.
- an elastic design of the tension element can in particular be achieved that a deceleration of a foot movement to be restricted is not suddenly, like when using a joint with joint pin in one Elongated hole and at the same time inelastic tension element, but that counter-forces limiting the movement with increasing movement amplitude gradually increase.
- the at least one tension element in particular of the elastic band such that the tensile force exerted when stretched (Counterforce) increases linearly with the elongation
- the at least one tension element or the elastic band has a progressively decreasing elasticity when stretched exhibit.
- the further Pronation movement (Eversion movement) or Supination movement (Inversion movement) braking and limiting counter forces in an initial range can be relatively small and then in the course of further movement, for example, increase exponentially, so that on the one hand due to the initial area with the low counterforces a special one undisturbed mobility with certain adjustment options outer axis of movement on the respective shin guard support is given and on the other hand by the progressively increasing counterforces an injury-prone movement beyond the initial range is reliably avoided without a sudden braking of the Movement occurs.
- This makes it extremely comfortable to wear ensures effective protection against injury, the latter in particular when the at least one tension element or the elastic band has a defined maximum ductility.
- the tensile elasticity can vary in the longitudinal direction of the band, in particular to provide a spatially well-defined effective joint zone.
- Rubber or / and silicone rubber is used as the material for the elastic band into consideration.
- maximum stretchability is proposed that at one for one average sized adults certain normal execution of the Shin guards the elasticity of the elastic tension element in Vertical direction at most about 2.5 cm, preferably at most about 2.0 cm, most preferably a maximum of about 1.5 cm.

- the inside of the foot Band section 372 or the foot-outside band section 376 can Relative movement of the foot relative to the lower leg due to deformation of the inside or outside of the band section its entire length between the middle section 379 and the protective shield 312 are made possible. In this case, it makes little sense of joints or to talk about a well-defined joint zone, even though you are in this Case without further ado the entire inside or outside of the foot Band section 372 or 374 could be an effective hinge zone.
- the inside band portion 372 and the outside band portion 374 can also as in the embodiment shown 4 be designed such that an effective joint zone 338 on the inside of the foot and an outer foot effective joint zone 340 are formed, one Swiveling movement of the foot or shoe relative to the shin protective shield Characterize 12 by the shin guard 310 is admitted without significant opposing forces.
- the two effective ones Joint zones are shown in dashed lines in Fig. 4 and the connecting straight line G goes through the center of the respective effective joint zone.
- the effective hinge zone As shown in Fig. 4, has the foot-side band section 372 and the foot-outside Band section 374 each one of the effective joint zones 338 and 340 corresponding section from a different, softer and more elastic Material than the adjacent, upper and lower leg sections corresponding band sections 330, 334 and 332, 336.
- the elastic band 370 (if necessary also several, especially offset in the longitudinal direction Bands on the inside of the foot and / or on the outside of the foot) are further variants possible, which lead to further advantages.
- that elastic band has a progressively decreasing elasticity when stretched or / and have a defined maximum extensibility.
- the design of the tension elements each as an elastic band or as Band sections of an elastic band generally has the advantage that which is the supination movement (inversion movement) or pronation movement Opposing forces suddenly but that these forces gradually increase with increasing Build up supination or pronation movement until one is the other Supination or pronation movement preventing or at least sufficiently slow counterforce is reached. That because of the Elongation of the tension elements inherently present joint play (if spoken at all of "joints" or “effective joint zones” ) in the vertical direction and the gradual onset of the Counterforce restricting movement of the foot ensures a easier mobility of the foot and thus a particularly high one Comfort.
- Ankle protection shields 378 and 380 can be made in one piece with the elastic band 370.
- this is off Rubber or (preferably) silicone rubber and one - related on a normal version of the shin guard 310 for an average tall adults - a maximum stretch of 3 cm in relation to the entire band and - in relation to the inside of the foot Band section 372 and the foot-outside band section 376 - of has a maximum of 1.5 cm each.
- a Velcro section 382 may be provided, which with a corresponding Counter Velcro section can be hooked onto the shoe insole.
- other ways of attaching the elastic band 370 to the shoe are conceivable. Accordingly, in the exemplary embodiments in FIG. 1 and 2 the lower grip element and / or one or both tension elements (with the respective lower leg section) on the shoe (in particular Insole or shoe sidewall) are attached.
- the invention relates to a shin guard, a Shin guard-shoe combination and one for one Combination provided shoe.
- the shin guard according to the invention has a on the lower leg of a wearer of the shin guard non-positively fixable shin guard, and at least an inside of the foot and / or at least an outside of the foot with which Protective shield directly or indirectly connected tension element for transmission at least tensile forces between the wearer's foot and / or one assigned shoe, which is designed and arranged such that by Tractive power transmission and, if necessary, by pressure force transmission between the protective shield on the one hand and the shoe and / or foot on the other Restricted mobility of the foot to avoid injury is.
