Zumindest bei einem Ende (6a) der Metallhalogenidlampe mit keramischem Entladungsgefäß besteht der Stopfen (11) aus mindestens vier axial angeordneten Schichten aus Cermet, deren Metallgehalt von innen nach außen zunimmt. Die äußerste Schicht ist mit der Durchführung (9) verschweißt.
