A machine (1) for consolidating and profiling the ballast bed of a track, comprising a machine frame (2) which is movable on on-track undercarriages (3) on the track (6) and a stabilizer unit (9) which is connected to the said machine frame vertically adjustably by way of drives (10) and has a vibration generator (25) to generate horizontal vibrations running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the machine and flanged rollers (30) für riding on rails (4) of the track (6), and a vertically adjustable ballast plough (8) für ballasting the track, characterized in that the ballast plough (8) is secured directly to the stabilizer unit (9) to form a structural unit.
    2. A machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the ballast plough (8) is positioned preceding the stabilizer unit (9) in the operating direction of the machine (1).
    3. A machine according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the ballast plough (8) is vertically adjustable by means of a drive (36) relative to the stabilizer unit (9).
    4. A machine according to claim 1 or 3, characterized in that the stabilizer unit (9) is arranged between two ballast ploughs (8) which are remote from one another in the longitudinal direction of the machine and are vertically adjustable independently of one another by means of drives (36).
