Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a safety connector for body electrodes according to the preamble of claim 1.
According to DIN 42802 "Plug-in contact-protected for electromedicine", a so-called safety plug must be used to connect body electrodes with their own wire to monitors, which, due to its design, enables accidental connection to external voltage sources according to the criteria of DIN EN 60601 Part 1 / VDE 0750 Excludes part 1 for a jointless test finger. This connector is only the outer contour of a male part, but it is functionally a coupling (female part). These coupling parts must have a receptacle for connector parts with contact pins with a diameter of 1.5 (+ 0.11) mm in accordance with the aforementioned DIN. The bare metallic contact element with a conductive connection for discharge to the outside is embedded in an electrically insulated manner in a plastic covering. Only at the end of the connector part Is an insertion opening for a contact pin provided under the above protection criteria against external voltage contact. The connectors consist of a connector zone with a certain external geometry and a grip zone.
In practice, safety plugs are already known as a one-piece molded plastic component. With these plugs, the contact part struck on the strand is also embedded by the plastic in the injection molding process. The contact element is surrounded by plastic, which is relatively stiff in order to avoid kinking of the plug in use in the region of the transition from the plug to the handle part. Polyethylene is preferably used as the plastic. One problem with the manufacture of these plugs is primarily compliance with the pin tolerance required according to the above DIN. The connectors that are outside the tolerance range are to be assessed as rejects. In practice it was found, among other things, that not all suppliers of sockets comply with the DIN regulation. It was thus found that deviations of up to 0.05 mm outside the tolerance permitted by DIN occur in the pin dimensions on the sockets. This inevitably leads to problems with the available safety plugs, which then either cannot be inserted at all or are too loose. This condition is unsatisfactory for the respective operating personnel and is often associated with additional effort.
It should also be taken into account that the contact pins of the sockets are subject to a certain amount of wear due to their constant use, which can lead to the tolerance falling short. This causes problems for the user that can only be solved by replacing sockets that are no longer within tolerance or using a much more expensive connector that is not designed as a one-piece molded plastic component.
The invention had for its object to provide a safety connector that is inexpensive to manufacture by injection molding, the requirements of corresponds to the applicable DIN standard and is able to tolerate differences in the contact pin the device socket to compensate.
According to the invention the object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1
solved. Further design variants are specified in
In the case of the molded as a one-piece molded plastic component Safety plugs are the walls of the sleeve-shaped contact element and the the contact element enclosing electrically insulating plug part elastic trained such that they match the existing diameter tolerance of the contact pins the device-side socket are adaptable. This is the manufacture of the Safety connector as a one-piece plastic component ensures that the The requirements of DIN 42802 are fully met and the existing tolerance deviations of the contact pin of the device sockets still guarantee full functionality of the coupling. Since the safety plug in the Is able to compensate for the tolerance deviations of the contact pins, the work will easier for the operating personnel when handling the plug. An elastic design of the sleeve-shaped contact element can thereby can be achieved that this consists of at least one step-shaped area or divided into a maximum of four step-shaped areas, each of which is in Direction to the handle part is or are tapered. Between the inside diameter at the contact element input of the contact element and the inner diameter on there is a conical exit of the area adjacent to the handle part Diameter reduction by 0.15 to 0.35 mm. So that through this special Formation of the sleeve-shaped contact element created by elasticity the molded plastic sheath of the connector part is hindered, are in the Plug part at least two opposite longitudinal grooves or longitudinal slots arranged, either having a groove base as a plastic film or the Longitudinal slots or grooves are designed in their shape or width so that between the test finger according to DIN EN 60601-1 (VDE 0750/1) and the contact element Touch is excluded. To ensure this, an existing one should Groove base have at least a wall thickness of 0.15 mm and the width of the Grooves or slots should be on their top edge in a range of 0.2 mm to 1.2 mm lie. The grooves can e.g. V-shaped or U-shaped. The conical Areas of the sleeve-shaped contact element are either identical or different, with their inside diameter deviations within the Difference range between the inner diameters D1 and D2. Of the Inner diameter D1 is 1.55 to 1.70 mm and the inner diameter D2 is 1.42 to 1.35 mm. The grooves or slots are at a distance of 0.5 to 2.5 mm from the Plug part opening arranged and extend to the transition of the plug part in the handle part. A plastic is a non-halogenated thermoplastic material used.

The safety plug shown in Figure 1, which is designed as a one-piece molded plastic component, consists of a
