Abstract

Es wird eine Preßvorrichtung zum Entwässern und/oder Glätten bzw. Beeinflussen der Oberflächeneigenschaft und Blattstruktur einer Faserstoffbahn mit einem Flächengewicht von unter 100 g/m2, insbesondere von graphischen Papieren, mit einem aus mindestens einem Preßnip bestehenden Preßbereich, durch den die Faserstoffbahn im Betrieb mit einer Geschwindigkeit von mindestens 1200 m/min unter gleichzeitiger Beaufschlagung mit Druck hindurchgeführt wird, beschrieben. Der Preßbereich umfaßt zumindest zwei aufeinanderfolgende Preßzonen. Dabei beträgt eine durch das Produkt aus der Länge L1 der ersten Preßzone in Laufrichtung der Faserstoffbahn und den im gesamten Preßbereich auf die Faserstoffbahn wirkenden Gesamtpreßimpuls Iges gebildete charakteristische Kenngröße K mindesten 2,5 kPa·s·m.
