Due to the up and down movement of the plunger 13, the rocker arm 1 is tilted around the ball nut 11, which is received in the spherical bearing bed 2. The ball nut 11 is fixed on the bearing pin 17. Due to the tilting movement, the roller body (not shown) accommodated in the roller body bed 5 presses on the valve stem 22 of the valve 14. During the downward movement, the spring 15 is compressed and the roller body rolls on the valve stem 22. As a result, the valve 14 moves out of the valve seat 20 and thus opens. The Upward movement of the rocker arm 1 is supported by the spring force of the spring 15. Furthermore, lifting of the roller body 10 from the valve tappet 13 is prevented. By re-rolling the roller body, not shown, there is virtually no frictional loss when the valve stem moves up and down.
- FIG. 4 shows detail IV from FIG. 3, the guide function of the guide disk 4, which comprises the valve stem 22 on both sides, being clearly recognizable. This prevents the rocker arm 1 from rotating and stabilizes the rocker arm about its longitudinal axis.

- the roller body 10 is in this case freely rotatable in the roller body bed 5, it being fitted into the roller body bed 5 such that only a very slight play remains through the guide disks 4. Due to the lateral inclusion of the valve stem 22 between the guide disks 4 and the support function generated thereby, a twisting of the rocker arm is effectively avoided.

- the guide disks 4 are first placed on the stepped bearing ends of the cylindrical roller body 10. Then these parts are loose in the slot bearing 5 of the rocker arm 1 plugged in. Due to the pressure of the valve tappet 13 resulting from the spring force of the valve spring 15, the roller body 10 with the guide disks 4 is held in the roller body bed 5, thereby preventing the roller body from being lifted out of the bed during operation.
