  4. Method according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the quantity of the torque to be applied to the wound roll by means of the load roller is varied, e.g. reduced, as a function of a changing process variable, e.g. with increasing wound roll diameter.
  5. Method according to claim 4, characterised in that the quantity of the load force acting on the wound roll and the quantity of the aforementioned torque are reduced together (preferably automatically and continuously) as a function of the increasing wound roll diameter.
  6. Winding machine for carrying out the method provided in claim 1, with two winding beds composed of winding support rollers (15, 16, 17) for receiving wound rolls (21, 22) which arise from longitudinally cut partial webs of a web of material (20) with a total web width (B), further each with an individually controllable drive (M1-M3) for each of the support rollers as well as with at least one load roller (1, 2) which can be placed on one of the wound rolls, characterised in that this at least one load roller (1, 2) is associated with a wound roll (21, 22) arising in the central region of the total web width (B) and is provided with an individually controllable drive (M).
  7. Winding machine according to claim 6, characterised in that the load roller (1, 2) is mounted on a lifting device (5).
  8. Winding machine according to claim 7, characterised in that the quantity of the load force acting on the wound roll is controllable by means of the lifting device (5).
  9. Winding machine according to claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the load roller (1, 2) can be moved by means of the lifting device (5) away from the wound roll (21, 22) increasing in size.
