Abstract

A sports boot has the two side-pieces (110) of its upper joined by a bootlace (4) passed through loops (30) of a supple material which is resistant to traction. Each loop contains a guide with an anti-friction surface (310) for the lace, possessing sufficient rigidity to prevent it from being deformed by the pressure of the lace. Each loop is made from a strip of a textile material, while its guide is made from a low-friction plastic such as PTFE, PTCFE, FEP, nylon, polyamide, polyethylene or polyacetal.

Description

The present invention relates to the field of sports shoes; in particular, the field of technical footwear such as hiking, snowboarding, in-line skating, paragliding, etc.

A sports shoe of the aforementioned type traditionally comprises a sole and a rod provided with an opening for the passage of the foot and having on either side of this opening means of return or loops which cooperate with one or more clamping means such as a lace to ensure by clamping, the partial closure of the opening.

For some shoes, the return means located on the top of a portion of the stem are under pressure in various circumstances. Some snowboard boots, for example, are intended to cooperate with a binding comprising transverse straps that exert pressure on the top of the foot; and therefore compress the return means or passers. It has been found that bulky and rigid loops such as metal or plastic hooks, buckles or eyelets can cause hard spots; this can cause a problem of foot pain and also deform the strap in places more or less permanently.

Some hiking boots or others, which have an internal clamping device of a portion of the stem, encounter a similar problem. In this case, the inner portion of the rod comprises return means which are subjected to pressure from an outer portion of the rod after tightening the latter by different means (lacing, velcro, zipper, etc.). These pressures again cause problems of discomfort or deformation of the shoe that is best avoided.

To remedy this problem, it is known to use flexible loops and resistant to traction in the form of textile strips folded in the form of a loop and connected to the rod to limit their size and promote their deformation under the effect of a external pressure.

An example of such a use is given in the document FR-A-2 726 440 which relates to a sports shoe comprising an internal clamping device at the instep and an outer rod protection against external aggression which encloses the internal device and thus exerts pressure on the return means of the device.

These means of return do not however give complete satisfaction.

The friction experienced by the lace is high. Furthermore, the lace deforms the band narrowing its width due to the return angle which creates additional friction and can lead to premature wear of the loop, or even the break thereof.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a satisfactory solution to the disadvantages described above.

Ce but est atteint en utilisant un moyen et élément de renvoi selon les revendications 1 et 8.This object is achieved by using a means and return element according to claims 1 and 8.

Such a return means has the advantages of limited space and flexibility while reducing friction with the lace; thus ensuring a good performance and a long life.

Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the features of the following detailed description illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a schematic example of a surf shoe engaged in a strap fastener;
  • Figure 2 is a simplified perspective view of a shoe according to the invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a view of a detail of a shoe of the prior art:
  • Figure 4 is a view similar to that of Figure 3 which applies the solution of the invention;
  • Figure 5 is a sectional view AA of the view of Figure 4;
  • Figure 6 is a sectional view BB of the view of Figure 5;
  • FIG. 7 is a sectional view CC of the view of FIG.

Referring to Figure 1, it is an example of application of a shoe of the invention that can highlight one of the technical problems already mentioned.

The boot 1 is a snowboard boot comprising a flexible or semi-flexible upper 10 and a clamping device 11 of the upper. In the configuration shown, the boot is in position in a traditional surf binding 2 which has the particularity of comprising a base 20 intended to be attached to a board (not shown) and two straps 20, 21 which hold the boot firmly in place. base 20.

The straps 20, 21 thus exert a significant pressure locally on the clamping device; hence the need for adequate means of return to avoid the risks of discomfort and others previously mentioned.

As shown in Figure 2, the solution passes through the use of return means 3 comprising a closed loop 30 of flexible material and resistant to traction.

The shoe of Figure 2 has been deliberately simplified to highlight only the essence of the invention. The stem has a portion 110; in this case anterior portion or upper, which is provided with an opening 12 defining two quarters 110a, 110b to be clamped.

A clamping means such as a lace 4 is provided to circulate through each loop 30 in a cross circuit and alternating a return means and its opposite, for example; which brings the neighborhoods closer to one another.

Such a lacing method is not the only possible realization, of course.

L'opération de laçage peut ainsi devenir fastidieuse et longue.FIG. 3, which illustrates the prior art, shows the major defect caused on the return means. The loop 30 which is in the form of a strap portion connected to the rod portion 110, undergoes a significant pull from the tightening means or yaw 4. The return angle 'a' being relatively low when the loops are close to one another, there is deformation of the webbing by reducing width and thus appearance of high friction forces that oppose the sliding of the lace in the loop. This may have the consequence of affecting the homogeneity of the tightening, in particular at the end, when pulling on the ends of the lace. It is then necessary to resume the tightening by pulling again on each strand of lace between two loops. The lacing operation can thus become tedious and time consuming.

This friction can lead to premature wear of the strap of the buckle until possible rupture.

The return means 3 represented comprises a closed loop identical to that of FIG. 3 but which is associated with a guide element 31.

As shown in Figure 5, the guide member 31 has a sliding surface 310 for the passage of the clamping means 4 inside the flexible loop 30 in a passage plane P. This surface has the function of facilitating the passage and the sliding of the clamping means 4. The plane P is taken for reference in order to facilitate explanations and approximately corresponds to the plane of the path of the lace 4 in the vicinity of each return means. Of course, the plane P may vary from one region to another of the shoe because of the curved shape of the rod.

Another important feature of the guide element is that it has a certain rigidity in the plane P thus defined. This rigidity must be such that the tensioning of the clamping means can not cause the lateral deformation of the guide element and therefore does not affect the width of the strap of the loop. Thus, the guide element will have a width at least equal to that of the loop.

Le glisssement est quant à lui amélioré par la convexité selon P.Figures 6 and 7 show the particular shape of the sliding surface for guiding the clamping means 4 on sliding. The sliding surface of the guide element has a generatrix of convex shape in the passage plane P and a generatrix of concave shape in the plane P 'perpendicular to P. The concavity in the plane P' promotes holding and guiding of the lace in contact with the element. Sliding is improved by the convexity according to P.

The shape of throat thus defined in general terms is however not the only one possible. It is also possible to provide a tubular shape of the surface in order to guarantee lace guidance in any radial direction.

Preferably, the thicknesses of the lateral edges 310a, 310b of the guide element will be provided as a function of the material used so as to have a certain compressive deformability in the direction along the plane P '. As a result, the hard point phenomenon already mentioned disappears completely.

Toutefois d'autres moyens de liaison peuvent être envisagés comme le rivetage, clippage/pincement, agrafage,....According to another characteristic of the invention, the guide element has a slot 311 for ensuring the passage of the strap portion 30 through the guide member and its connection with the guide member. The light passes through the element from one edge 310a to the other 310b. This connecting means has the advantage of being the most resistant and the simplest that can be implemented. However other means of connection can be envisaged such as riveting, clipping / pinching, stapling, ....

As shown in the various figures, the return means 3 are distributed in opposite manner on each quarter 110a, 110b and are arranged so that each loop has a portion connected to one of the quarters and a portion including said guide member which extends beyond the neighborhood on the opening 12.

In this way, the guide element takes position in the thickness of the quarter in the event of pressure exerted on the clamping device by an external element; and this partly thanks to the flexibility of the loop. This reduces the risk of hard point.

Preferably, the strap portion is chosen from a textile material because of its properties of flexibility and tensile strength. In some cases, it might be possible to envisage using portions of rubber or leather strips. The strap portion is connected to the shank by sewing, preferably, or by other means such as riveting, stapling, or a combination of several means. It is also within the scope of the invention to provide a strap portion as a continuous portion of a piece of fabric of the upper.

The guide element is, of course, constituted in a material with a low coefficient of friction. Different materials are likely to agree. Advantageously, the guide element is made of a plastic material selected from PTFE, PTFCE, FEP, nylons, polyamides, polyethylenes, polyacéthals.

The element can be made in one piece or on the contrary in several parts assembled mechanically or molded.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and includes any equivalent mode within the scope of the claims below.
