  2. Fence post according to claim 1, characterised in that the upright rods (11, 12) of the post (50) are provided only on one side of the brackets (10, 30, 40, 60, 70).
  3. Fence post according to claim 1, characterised in that the upright rods (11, 11; 12, 12) of the post (50) are provided on both sides of the brackets (10, 30, 40, 60, 70) in pairs directly opposite one another.
  4. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the upright rods (11', 12) of the post (50) diverge downward from each other.
  5. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the upright rods (11, 12) of the post (50) are parallel to each other.
  6. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that at least one limb (10', 30", 40") of the bracket (10) does not extend horizontally.
  7. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the brackets (60, 70) are bent into a U-shape.
  8. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the brackets (10, 30, 40) are bent into a V-shape.
  9. Fence post according to claims 7 or 8, characterised in that the brackets (10, 60) extend symmetrically to a horizontal plane.
  10. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that in the case of mesh panels (20) providing horizontal rods (2), the horizontal rods (2) can be supported on at least some of the ends (3') of the brackets (10, 30, 40, 60, 70) projecting over the front side (13) of the post (50).
  11. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the ends (3') of the limbs (10', 30', 60') of the brackets (10, 30, 40, 60, 70) are bent to form an upright eye (53), of which the free limbs (54) form a diagonal member (5) directed downward towards the front side (13) of the post (50), by means of which diagonal member, the horizontal rods (2) can be pressed in the manner of a wedge against the front side of the post (50).
  12. Fence post according to claim 11, characterised in that clamping elements (15) are provided by means of which the horizontal rods (2) can be pressed down or drawn down onto the projecting ends (3') of the brackets (10, 30, 40, 60, 70).
  13. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the upright rods (11", 12") provide a flat cross section standing with its larger dimension perpendicular to the mesh plane.
  14. Fence post according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterised in that at least one oblong fastening piece (80), which is upright in the fastening position, is provided for the mesh panels (20), which fastening piece is supported subject to a vertical pressing force (90) from below, with its upper end against an upper free end (3') of a limb, which fastening piece is tightened in its central area against the front side of the post (15) by means of a screw (85), and which rests subject to the vertical pressing force (91) from above with its lower end on a horizontal rod (2) resting on the adjacent free end (3') of a limb below.
  15. Fence post according to claim 14, characterised in that the fastening piece (80) can be changed in shape by means of the screw (85) from an initial condition which is arched or angled in a bracket-like manner away from the front side of the fence post (50), into an extended fastening condition.
  16. Fence post according to claims 14 or 15, characterised in that the fastening piece (80) provides a rounded recess (89) at its upper edge to grip under the upper free end (3').
  17. Fence post according to any one of claims 14 to 16, characterised in that the fastening piece (80) provides at its lower end a foot (82) widened perpendicular to the mesh panel (20), which foot rests on the upper side of the horizontal rod (2) there.
  18. Fence post according to any one of claims 14 to 17, characterised in that the fastening piece (80) provides a flat steel section (81).
  19. Fence post according to claim 18, characterised in that the flat steel section (81) provides an approximately central perforation (84) for the insertion of the screw (85).
