Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and devices for Apply a liquid or pasty medium, such as Pigmented coating color, starch, Impregnation liquid on a running sheet of paper or cardboard containing waste paper.
- a liquid or pasty medium such as Pigmented coating color, starch, Impregnation liquid
- a device for applying a liquid or pasty Medium on a running material web according to the state of the Technology that works according to a conventional method known for example from US-A-4,848,268.
- the device form two application rollers rotating in opposite directions a roller gap between them, through which the running Material web is passed through. Every application roller is a Assigned work, which via an order pressure chamber and a doctor element on the liquid or pasty medium Applying surface of the application roller. That on the surface the application roller is then applied by the Rotation of the application roller in the nip between the conveyed into both application rollers. There is the medium from the roller surface to the relevant side of the Transfer material web and at the same time into the material web pressed. This order process is considered indirect Order designated.
- the one-sided indirect application is also from US-A-4,973,441 known.
- the invention is therefore based on the technical problem to create a method and devices with which a high quality liquid or pasty medium on a running web of material can be applied without in or impurities on the material web Order quality can deteriorate.
- a liquid or pasty medium such as pigmented coating color, starch or impregnating liquid on at least one side of the current Material web containing waste paper applied in a direct order. Then this is on the at least one side of the Liquid or pasty medium applied in material web a separate step into the running material web pressed.
- the direct application of the medium on the Material web and the pressing of the medium into the Material web thus takes place in separate process steps. Since the press-in step follows the step of applying along the Direction of passage of the material web is connected, can Dirt particles or impurities that accumulate in the If necessary, press the press out of the material web, not get more into the upstream order area, in which the medium is applied to the material web.
- the Detached particles or impurities can in the Area of the separate press-in step removed easily be so that they no longer point to the Material web arrive and there impairments of Can cause order quality. It also comes with the inventive method during the press-in process much less often to remove Dirt particles from the material web, as these have already been was coated with the liquid or pasty medium. In this way, smaller dirt particles are removed from the applied medium incorporated in a harmless manner, which removes dirt particles during pressing the medium into the running material web be reduced.
- the direct application of the method according to the invention a desired final order quantity of liquid or pasty medium on any side of the running waste paper Material web in a single order step respectively.
- the medium is preferably in in a single operation directly onto the material web plotted that the plotted amount of the desired final order quantity. This results in a compact process.
- a pre-metering is carried out excess amount of liquid or pasty medium on the relevant side of the material web.
- the previous dosing takes place applied to the relevant side of the material web predosed amount of medium to the desired final Order amount.
- the support section of the material web on the surface of the The counter surface is, based on the direction of flow Material web, first assigned to the order plant and in Distance thereafter the press roll, the press roll with the Counter surface forms a press-in gap through which the Material web, on the support section of the counter surface lying on, is led through.
- the running material web is along a support section on the surface of the counter surface supported and along this support section on the
- the surface of the material web is initially a commissioned work for direct application of the medium and then a press roller for Press-in of the medium assigned.
- Applying the medium and the press-in of the medium are spatially different from each other separated and dirt particles that may be in the Release press-in from the running waste paper-containing material web, only reach the surface of the press roll, from where they e.g. deducted using a suitable cleaning device can be. Detached dirt particles can, however not get into the commissioned work and so the quality of the Affect order.
- the support section of the material web on the surface of the is the second counter surface, based on the Direction of travel of the material web, first the second Assigned work order and then the second one at a distance Press roll, the second press roll with the second Counter surface forms a press-in gap through which the Material web, on the support section of the second counter surface lying on, is led through.
- the Invention of the first device according to the invention for Coating one side of the running web of material similar device for coating the other side of the downstream material web. So there are two counter surfaces rotating in opposite directions, over which the running material web first with one side and then with the other side. Every counter surface is in Direction of travel of the material web first a commissioned work and then assigned a press roll.
- the commissioned work is the support section of the Material web assigned to the surface of the counter surface and the press roll is the one from the applicator with the medium provided side of the material web, based on the Direction of travel of the material web, at a distance after the Mating surface assigned and forms with the press roll counter roll a press-in gap through which the running material web is passed through.
- this second is according to the invention Device the applicator, the counter surface and the press roller assigned its own press roll counter roll, while at previously explained first device according to the invention Applicator and the press roller a common counter surface assigned.
- the second application is the support section of the Material web on the surface of the second counter surface assigned and the second press roller is the one from the second Commissioned work with the medium side of the material web, based on the direction of travel of the material web, at a distance assigned to the second counter surface and forms with the second press roll counter roll from a press nip through the running material web is passed through.
- the second is in this embodiment Device according to the invention for coating one side a similar device for the running material web Coating the other side of the running material web downstream.
- Each commissioned work is its own Mating surface assigned and each press roll is one assigned own press roll counter roll.
- the rotating counter surfaces preferably in the form of rotating counter rolls.
- the rotating counter surfaces but also in the form of rotating ones flexible endless belts.
- Such revolving Endless belts are then driven by associated drive rollers, Deflection pulleys, tension pulleys and / or sliding or press shoes guided.
- the two commissioned works face each other and are each one side of the running material web assigned that the web of material between the two Commissioned works is carried out. Furthermore, the two are Press rolls, based on the direction of flow of the Material web, at a distance according to the two commissioned works arranged that the two press rolls one between them Form press-in gap through which the running material web is passed, the running directions of the two Press rolls in the press nip with the direction of flow of the Material web match.
- the third device according to the invention thus takes place first a direct application of a liquid on both sides or pasty medium on the material web by placing between two commissioned works is carried out, and then the previously applied is pressed in on both sides Medium into the material web by placing it between two with the Direction of travel of the material web co-rotating press rolls is passed through.
- the device runs in a favorable embodiment Direction of travel of the material web, based on a horizontal plane, from bottom to top.
- the Material web in a common pass plane both through the two applicators as well as the two press rolls passed.
- doctor elements are preferably profiled Squeegee rods, smooth squeegee rods or squeegee blades.
- the use of profiled doctor blades is insofar advantageous than then the metering of the medium to be applied done volumetrically, i.e. the amount of medium applied is practically independent of the machine speed. Thus, the desired amount of liquid or pasty medium can be applied very reliably.
- the application units can be device as free jet application units be trained.
- the device according to the invention is the two To design commissioned works as doctor blade element commissioned works a sump of the medium to be applied with a free one Form the liquid surface.
- the associated one Direction of travel of the material web through the two sump application plants then runs in relation to a horizontal Level, top down.
- the squeegee elements of the sump application works are preferably as profiled doctor rods, smooth doctor blades or doctor blades.
- the devices according to the invention in the order works in a pre-metering device for direct application of an excess amount of liquid or pasty medium on one side of the running material web and a subsequent separate final metering device for Dosing the amount applied to the material web Medium to the desired final order quantity divide.
- the pre-metering devices can then be used as Doctor blade element pressure chamber applicator units, doctor element sump application units, Free jet nozzle works or in be formed in a comparable manner.
- the Final metering devices can be used as doctor blade final metering devices or in a similar way. be trained.
- the application works are preferably in the inventive Devices, however, as ready-made order works trained, i.e. with them can be a desired final Quantity of medium applied directly to the material web be applied without the need for further dosing.
- Doctor element pressure chamber applicators or doctor element sump applicators are preferably used.
- the free jet application is on the top page an essentially horizontal, unsupported one Assigned to section of the material web and the press roll, based on the direction of travel of the material web, at a distance based on the free jet commissioned work previously with the medium assigned side of the material web and forms a press nip together with the press roll counter roll, through which the running material web is passed.

A device for applying a liquid or pasty Medium on a running material web according to the state of the Technology that works according to a conventional method known for example from US-A-4,848,268. At this The device form two application rollers rotating in opposite directions a roller gap between them, through which the running Material web is passed through. If both orders are in operation, the running material web will be on both sides in this way coated with the liquid or pasty medium. In a another embodiment of this known device, the also described in US-A-4,848,268 are taking place of the pressure chamber commissioned works commissioned works that form a swamp with a free liquid surface and the medium to be applied from this swamp over one Apply the doctor element to the surface of the application roller.
The one-sided indirect application is also from US-A-4,973,441 known.
With these indirect order processes and associated application devices in and of themselves good good Results achieved, but when pressing the Medium into the material web in the nip from the paper or remove the contamination from the cardboard of the material web and collect on the surface of the application rollers. That can especially when the material web is predominant consists of waste paper. Such on the roller surface accumulated impurities then pollute the Commissioned works and finally strips can appear in the Form application film on the surface of the application roller; the then also on the product, i.e. on the coated Material web, become visible.
The invention is therefore based on the technical problem to create a method and devices with which a high quality liquid or pasty medium on a running web of material can be applied without in or impurities on the material web Order quality can deteriorate.

In the method according to the invention, a liquid or pasty medium such as pigmented coating color, starch or impregnating liquid on at least one side of the current Material web containing waste paper applied in a direct order. Then this is on the at least one side of the Liquid or pasty medium applied in material web a separate step into the running material web pressed. The direct application of the medium on the Material web and the pressing of the medium into the Material web thus takes place in separate process steps. Since the press-in step follows the step of applying along the Direction of passage of the material web is connected, can Dirt particles or impurities that accumulate in the If necessary, press the press out of the material web, not get more into the upstream order area, in which the medium is applied to the material web. The Detached particles or impurities can in the Area of the separate press-in step removed easily be so that they no longer point to the Material web arrive and there impairments of Can cause order quality.
In a preferred embodiment of the method for double-sided application of a liquid or pasty medium on a running sheet of waste paper containing material for each side of the Material web of liquid or pasty medium at the same time directly applied to the running material web and that then separate pressing in of the applied medium in the running material web takes place on both sides of the Material web at the same time. This results in a compact, only two-step process for one double-sided application of a liquid or pasty medium on a running material web.
Expediently, in the variants described above the direct application of the method according to the invention a desired final order quantity of liquid or pasty medium on any side of the running waste paper Material web in a single order step respectively. In other words, the medium is preferably in in a single operation directly onto the material web plotted that the plotted amount of the desired final order quantity. This results in a compact process.
In another embodiment of the invention, everyone is Step of direct application of the liquid or pasty Medium on any side of the running waste paper web in divided the following substeps:
In a first sub-step, a pre-metering is carried out excess amount of liquid or pasty medium on the relevant side of the material web. In a downstream separate second step, the previous dosing takes place applied to the relevant side of the material web predosed amount of medium to the desired final Order amount.
Instead of a direct, fully dosed in one step Order can therefore be according to the previously explained Embodiment of direct application of the medium if necessary in two substeps, namely a pre-metering step and one Final dosing step, are subdivided. If desired, can the two embodiments with each other can be combined, e.g. such that the direct order of the Medium on one side of the running material web in one single final dosing step takes place during the direct Application of the medium to the other side of the material web in a pre-metering and a final metering step. This can for example, be useful if on the two On the material web side, order media from different consistency should be applied by which the one medium easily in one Finished dosing step can be applied while the other medium better in separate pre-metering and final metering steps can be applied.
- an application unit for the direct application of a liquid or pasty medium to one side of the running material web,
- a rotating counter surface, on the surface of which the running material web is guided along a support section, and
- a press roller rotating in the opposite direction to the counter surface for pressing liquid or pasty medium applied on one side of the material web into the running material web.
The support section of the material web on the surface of the The counter surface is, based on the direction of flow Material web, first assigned to the order plant and in Distance thereafter the press roll, the press roll with the Counter surface forms a press-in gap through which the Material web, on the support section of the counter surface lying on, is led through.
In other words, the running material web is along a support section on the surface of the counter surface supported and along this support section on the The surface of the material web is initially a commissioned work for direct application of the medium and then a press roller for Press-in of the medium assigned. Applying the medium and the press-in of the medium are spatially different from each other separated and dirt particles that may be in the Release press-in from the running waste paper-containing material web, only reach the surface of the press roll, from where they e.g. deducted using a suitable cleaning device can be. Detached dirt particles can, however not get into the commissioned work and so the quality of the Affect order.
- a second counter surface, which rotates in the opposite direction to the first counter surface, and this is connected at a distance downstream from the direction of travel of the material web, the running material web being guided on the surface of the second counter surface along a support section such that the one already provided with the medium Side of the material web lies on the surface,
- a second application for direct application of a liquid or pasty medium on one side of a running material web and
- a second press roller rotating in the opposite direction to the second counter surface for pressing liquid or pasty medium applied on one side of the running material web into the running material web.
The support section of the material web on the surface of the is the second counter surface, based on the Direction of travel of the material web, first the second Assigned work order and then the second one at a distance Press roll, the second press roll with the second Counter surface forms a press-in gap through which the Material web, on the support section of the second counter surface lying on, is led through.
In other words, in this embodiment, the Invention of the first device according to the invention for Coating one side of the running web of material similar device for coating the other side of the downstream material web. So there are two counter surfaces rotating in opposite directions, over which the running material web first with one side and then with the other side. Every counter surface is in Direction of travel of the material web first a commissioned work and then assigned a press roll.
- an application unit for the direct application of a liquid or pasty medium to one side of the running material web,
- a rotating counter surface, on the surface of which the running material web is guided along a support section,
- a press roller rotating in the opposite direction to the counter surface for pressing liquid or pasty medium applied on one side of the material web into the running material web, and
- a press roll counter roll rotating in the opposite direction to the press roll.
The commissioned work is the support section of the Material web assigned to the surface of the counter surface and the press roll is the one from the applicator with the medium provided side of the material web, based on the Direction of travel of the material web, at a distance after the Mating surface assigned and forms with the press roll counter roll a press-in gap through which the running material web is passed through.
In other words, this second is according to the invention Device the applicator, the counter surface and the press roller assigned its own press roll counter roll, while at previously explained first device according to the invention Applicator and the press roller a common counter surface assigned.
- a second counter surface which rotates in the same direction as the first press roll and which is connected at a distance therefrom in relation to the direction of travel of the material web, the running material web being guided on the surface of the second counter surface along a support section such that the side already provided with the medium the material web lies on the roller surface,
- a second application unit for the direct application of a liquid or pasty medium to one side of a running material web,
- a second press roller rotating in the opposite direction to the second counter surface for pressing liquid or pasty medium applied on one side of the material web into the running material web and
- a second press roll counter roll rotating in the opposite direction to the second press roll.
The second application is the support section of the Material web on the surface of the second counter surface assigned and the second press roller is the one from the second Commissioned work with the medium side of the material web, based on the direction of travel of the material web, at a distance assigned to the second counter surface and forms with the second press roll counter roll from a press nip through the running material web is passed through.
In other words, the second is in this embodiment Device according to the invention for coating one side a similar device for the running material web Coating the other side of the running material web downstream. Each commissioned work is its own Mating surface assigned and each press roll is one assigned own press roll counter roll.
In the previously explained devices according to the invention the rotating counter surfaces preferably in the form of rotating counter rolls. Likewise, the rotating counter surfaces but also in the form of rotating ones flexible endless belts. Such revolving Endless belts are then driven by associated drive rollers, Deflection pulleys, tension pulleys and / or sliding or press shoes guided.
- two application units (these can be of the same type), one of which applies a liquid or pasty medium to either side of the running material web in direct application, and
- two oppositely rotating press rolls of the same type, one of which presses the liquid or pasty medium applied to the respective side of the two sides of the material web into the running material web.
The two commissioned works face each other and are each one side of the running material web assigned that the web of material between the two Commissioned works is carried out.
The third device according to the invention thus takes place first a direct application of a liquid on both sides or pasty medium on the material web by placing between two commissioned works is carried out, and then the previously applied is pressed in on both sides Medium into the material web by placing it between two with the Direction of travel of the material web co-rotating press rolls is passed through.
In the previously described third invention The device runs in a favorable embodiment Direction of travel of the material web, based on a horizontal plane, from bottom to top. Preferably the Material web in a common pass plane both through the two applicators as well as the two press rolls passed.
In a preferred embodiment of the previously explained Devices according to the invention are the works as Doctor element pressure chamber applicators. The doctor elements are preferably profiled Squeegee rods, smooth squeegee rods or squeegee blades. The use of profiled doctor blades is insofar advantageous than then the metering of the medium to be applied done volumetrically, i.e. the amount of medium applied is practically independent of the machine speed. Thus, the desired amount of liquid or pasty medium can be applied very reliably.
In a further embodiment of the invention The application units can be device as free jet application units be trained.
A favorable embodiment of the third explained above The device according to the invention is the two To design commissioned works as doctor blade element commissioned works a sump of the medium to be applied with a free one Form the liquid surface. The associated one Direction of travel of the material web through the two sump application plants then runs in relation to a horizontal Level, top down. The squeegee elements of the sump application works are preferably as profiled doctor rods, smooth doctor blades or doctor blades.
There is an embodiment of the devices according to the invention in the order works in a pre-metering device for direct application of an excess amount of liquid or pasty medium on one side of the running material web and a subsequent separate final metering device for Dosing the amount applied to the material web Medium to the desired final order quantity divide. The pre-metering devices can then be used as Doctor blade element pressure chamber applicator units, doctor element sump application units, Free jet nozzle works or in be formed in a comparable manner. The Final metering devices can be used as doctor blade final metering devices or in a similar way. be trained.
The application works are preferably in the inventive Devices, however, as ready-made order works trained, i.e. with them can be a desired final Quantity of medium applied directly to the material web be applied without the need for further dosing.
For this purpose, those already explained above are preferably used Doctor element pressure chamber applicators or doctor element sump applicators used.
- a free jet applicator for direct application of a liquid or pasty medium on one side of a running material web,
- a rotating press roll for pressing liquid or pasty medium applied to one side of the material web into the running material web, and
- a press roll counter roll rotating in the opposite direction to the press roll.
The free jet application is on the top page an essentially horizontal, unsupported one Assigned to section of the material web and the press roll, based on the direction of travel of the material web, at a distance based on the free jet commissioned work previously with the medium assigned side of the material web and forms a press nip together with the press roll counter roll, through which the running material web is passed. The The direction of the press roll in the press nip coincides the direction of travel of the material web.
The fourth device according to the invention is therefore not required a rotating counter surface, i.e. for the commissioned work no assigned counter roller or no assigned endless belt required. The direct application of the liquid or pasty Medium is essentially horizontal running, unsupported section of the material web. In Direction of travel of the material web seen before the position of the commissioned work is sufficient the arrangement of a deflection roller, around the material web in the essentially horizontal To redirect the running direction.
The free jet commission is at the fourth Device according to the invention preferably in the form of a Commissioned work based on the principle of a waterfall. In such a commissioned work, what is to be applied flows liquid or pasty medium like a waterfall from the application in an appropriately dosed amount to that under the Commissioned material web passing by. The top side of the material web is so with the medium coated.
An advantage of the devices according to the invention is that that by the separate provision of press rolls Material selection and the surface properties of the Press roll surface optimally to the requirements regarding a good press-in process can be adapted. at previous devices, in which initially an order from liquid or pasty medium on the surface of a Application roller takes place from where the medium is then in one Roll nip is transferred to the running material web (indirect order), the material selection and the selection of the surface condition of the application roller mainly after that the medium is good on the Roller surface can be applied, i.e. the surface is well wettable. The choice of materials and the However, the surface quality of the application roller cannot to the same extent on the press-in function of the application roller in Application roller gap to be coordinated. Since according to the invention now the order of the medium in a separate upstream Step directly and immediately onto the material web, and pressing the medium into the material web as separate separate step is carried out, the Press rolls with regard to their constructive and optimal design of the material Press-fit function can be adjusted.
In advantageous configurations, at least Roll surfaces of the press rolls made of steel, rubber or Polyurethane trained. It can be advantageous in each case be, the roll surfaces of the press rolls in addition a non-stick cover with a comparatively small one To provide friction coefficient. Such a non-stick cover exists preferably made of a material on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) basis. Such a Teflon cover effectively avoids that Adhesion of the applied medium to the press rolls. Depending on The press rolls can be used with a possible be smooth, hard surface, or with a soft surface with such a texture that the applied medium practically does not adhere to it.
The rotational speed preferably corresponds to Roll surface of the press roll of the throughput speed the material web in the press nip. So there is none Relative speed between the press roll surface and Material web in front, and thus practically none occurs On paper.
In a preferred embodiment, the press rolls are included provided a heater that at least the Roll surface heats. This will dry the accelerated applied medium on the material web.
In a further preferred embodiment, a cleaning device is assigned to each press roll on a peripheral portion of its roll surface. In a favorable embodiment, the cleaning device has a scraping blade, which pulls dirt particles, which were removed from the material web in the press-in nip, from the roller surface. In connection with an associated cleaning device, it is advantageous to design the surface of the press roll from a hard material so that the surface quality of the press roll is not damaged by the cleaning scraping blade or dirt particles accumulated thereon.
The inventive method and the inventive Devices are used to glue Material webs, but also for the application of various liquid or pasty coating media, such as Coating color with pigments, starch, impregnating solution and like.
In the inventive method and in the inventive The application of the liquid or pasty medium always directly on the material web, so without the interposition of an application roller, and the pressing the applied medium in the material web is always done separate from the process of applying the medium to the Web. In this way it is prevented that possibly during pressing from the running material web loosened impurities or dirt particles in the Order work arrive and the order quality of the medium can deteriorate the running material web.

Gegenwalze 1, 4 rotierend angetrieben.The two commissioned

The two press rolls 3, 6 are also from the example

In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 2 the device according to the invention are the same or different corresponding components with the same reference numerals provided, as in the first embodiment in Fig. 1st As for the details of these components, therefore referred to the previous statements.
A running
The individual components, such as the commissioned works 2, 5, Counter rolls 1, 4 and the press rolls 3, 6 correspond in their Design in the example of the first explained above Embodiment according to FIG. 1. In addition, there are now two Press roll counter rolls 19, 20 are provided. In contrast to 1 form the press rolls 3, 6 in the second embodiment, the injection gap with the counter rolls 1, 4, but with these additional Press roll counter rolls 19, 20.
If you take only half on one side of the

Also in the third embodiment of the invention The device shown in Fig. 3 are the same or corresponding components as in the first embodiment in Fig. 1 with the same reference numerals and it will therefore referred to the explanations there.
In the third embodiment, there are two doctor element
The doctor bars 9, 9 'of the two
dargestellt. Jede Reinigungsvorrichtung weist eine
Abschabklinge 23, 23' auf, die Verunreinigungen oder
Schmutzpartikel, die eventuell während des Einpressens im
Einpreßspalt aus der Materialbahn 7 herausgelöst werden, von
den Walzenoberflächen 3A, 6A abziehen und so verhindern, daß
die Verunreinigungen oder Schmutzpartikel wieder von den
Preßwalzen 3, 6 auf die bereits beschichtete Materialbahn
befördert werden könnten. Solche oder ähnliche
Reinigungsvorrichtungen sind zweckmäßigerweise auch an den
Preßwalzen 3, 6 der zuvor erläuterten ersten und zweiten
erfindungsgemäßen Ausführungsbeispiele vorgesehen. The two press rolls 3, 6 are also supported

In the third embodiment shown in Fig. 3

In Fig. 4 ist ein viertes Ausführungsbeispiel der
erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung gezeigt, das in seinem
Grundaufbau dem dritten Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 3
ähnlich ist. Hinsichtlich der Anordnung und der Funktion der
Preßwalzen 3, 6 wird daher auf die vorangehenden Ausführungen
verwiesen.
oben nach unten.4 is a fourth embodiment of the

zuviel aufgetragene Medium 8 abstreift. Zwar ist bei diesem
