Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Unterdrückung von Flammen-/Druckschwingungen bei einer Feuerung, die einen Brenner (1) aufweist, mit dem eine Flamme (2) erzeugt wird, und einen Brennraum (3), in den die Flamme gerichtet ist.
Der Erfindung liegt die Erkenntnis zugrunde, daß diese Druckschwingungen auf einer periodischen, zur Druckschwingung phasenrichtigen Abreaktion von sich an der Flamme ausbildenden toroidalen Ringwirbeln (7) beruht, wobei erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen wird, die Ringwirbel durch Zufuhr eines Fluides (11) z. B. einem Gas oder einer verdampfbaren Flüssigkeit abzukühlen und in einen Bereich zu verbringen, in dem das in ihnen enthaltene Brennstoff-/Dampf-/Luft-/Gas-Gemisch außerhalb der von Temperatur und Brennstoffkonzentration abhängigen Zündgrenzen ist.
