Definitions

  • the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner nozzle with a drivable unbalance for use in a vacuum cleaner.
  • a suction groove provided on the suction nozzle forms, together with the surface to be cleaned, a horizontal suction channel in which a constant air flow is generated with a high air speed.
  • This strong air flow releases the dirt from the surface to be cleaned, after which the dirt is sucked away.
  • a rotating knocking roller driven by a motor is additionally used to loosen the dirt.
  • the suction groove must inevitably be made wider, so that the suction channel is also wider, as a result of which the speed of the air flow which can be achieved there is lower, which impairs the cleaning effect.
  • the construction is quite heavy and it requires an electrical line to the suction nozzle which is undesirable for reasons of safety and mobility.
  • driven brushes are used to loosen the dirt. This results in roughly the same disadvantages as with the knocking vacuum cleaner.
  • vacuum cleaners are known in which the dirt with the help of air vibrations or high-frequency vibrations detached from the object to be cleaned. These vibrations are generated by means of electromagnetic or piezoelectric vibrators, which are expensive, consume a lot of energy and in turn require an electrical line to the suction nozzle. Wide suction grooves are also required here.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a generic vacuum cleaner that allows an effective detachment of dirt particles and thus thorough cleaning when vacuuming, in a simple and inexpensive manner and without additional means for contacting the surface to be cleaned.
  • FIG. 1 shows a schematic sectional view of the vacuum cleaner according to the invention.
  • a suction nozzle 1 is articulated to a suction pipe 3 via a joint part 2, which is connected in a manner known per se to a motor part of the vacuum cleaner, not shown.
  • the suction pipe 3 is connected to a number of narrow suction grooves 5 via an intermediate channel 4 running inside the suction nozzle 1.
  • These suction grooves 5 run approximately perpendicular to the surface of the drawing over almost the entire width of the suction nozzle 1 and, when vacuuming, together with the surface to be cleaned, each form a (apart from the connection to the intermediate channel 4) a radially closed suction channel.
  • At the ends of each suction groove 5 there is a small inlet opening 6, through which the outside air can enter the suction channels formed by means of the suction grooves 5 when vacuuming.
  • a housing 7 is provided, in which an electric motor 8 is arranged, which can drive at least one imbalance 9.
  • the electric motor 8 can be fed by an accumulator 10.
  • This accumulator 10 comprises, for example, a number of rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries.
  • a slide switch 11 is provided for switching the electric motor 8 on and off. It is also possible to set different speeds of the motor 8 by means of different positions of the slide switch 11.
  • the accumulator 10 can be charged via a charging input 12 (see FIG. 2) by means of a charging device, not shown, which is known per se.
  • the suction nozzle 1 has a contact surface 13 to the surface to be cleaned.
  • the parts 8, 10, 11 and 12 are connected in a manner known per se by means of corresponding connecting lines, not shown.
  • FIG. 2 shows a schematic top view of the vacuum cleaner according to the invention.
  • the housing 7 is mounted on the suction nozzle 1 or in one piece executed with the same.
  • the electric motor 8 is attached directly to the nozzle body.
  • the unbalance 9 comprises two unbalance weights 9a and 9b, which are fixed symmetrically on the two ends of the motor axis 14.
  • the motor axis 14 is arranged perpendicular to the sliding direction of the suction nozzle 1. As a result, the pushing forces can be reduced.
  • the vacuum cleaner according to the invention functions as follows: When vacuuming, the user switches on the electric motor 8 by means of the switch 11. This drives the unbalance 9, which causes the suction nozzle 1 to vibrate. It is crucial that the contact surface 13 of the suction nozzle 1 (the surface which is in contact with the object to be cleaned during vacuuming) is set in vibration. This means that the dirt particles on the surface to be cleaned are shaken off, which leads to thorough cleaning. The already existing contact surface 13 of the nozzle 1 is activated and included in the cleaning process.
  • Each fixed suction groove 5 provided on the suction nozzle 1 forms, together with the surface to be cleaned, a horizontal, radially closed and obstacle-free suction channel in which a constant air flow is generated with a high air speed, which air flow releases the dirt from the object to be cleaned, after which this is sucked away via the intermediate channel 4 and the suction pipe 3.
  • Parts of the fixed edges of the suction groove 5 form part of the contact surface 13 and can be set into vibration by the unbalance 9. It has been found that the combination of the narrow, obstacle-free suction groove 5 with the vibrating contact surface 13 enables particularly thorough cleaning. The vibrations of the walls of the suction groove 5 move the dirt particles there in such a way that they are caught, released and taken away by the unimpeded, strong air flow.
  • the drivable unbalance 9 is, however, an effective, simple and inexpensive solution. It can be arranged directly on the suction nozzle 1, so that the entire suction nozzle 1 is set in vibration.
  • the unbalance 9 can advantageously be driven by means of the electric motor 8, which can be fed by the rechargeable battery 10. In this way, no electrical line from the motor part of the vacuum cleaner to the suction nozzle 1 is required.
  • the vacuum cleaner nozzle 1 with the parts 7 to 12 can be mounted on a normal vacuum cleaner as a retrofit unit to improve the cleaning performance.
  • the suction groove 5 with the contact surface 13 is not fixedly arranged on the suction nozzle 1, but is mounted on the suction nozzle 1 in a vibration-damped manner.
  • the unbalance 9 is then arranged in such a way that it can set the suction groove 5, which is mounted with vibration damping, in vibration. This has the advantage that the entire suction nozzle 1 does not vibrate, so that less energy is consumed.
