Claims (6)

  1. Variable-format rotary printing machine, particularly of the flexographic type, for printing, in one or more colours, a lap of material (1) advancing through the machine, presenting, for each colour to be printed, a printing unit comprising an inking roller (2) tangential to a roller (4) constituting a printing form, itself tangential to am impression cylinder (5), the lap of material to be printed (1) advancing between the printing form (4) and the impression cylinder (5), and a device for driving the rollers (2,4,5) comprising a principal transmission (7) driven in rotation by a motor (6) and extending along the whole machine, characterized in that the principal drive transmission (7) is directly coupled, via gear trains with predetermined transmission ratio, on the one hand, to the inking roller (2) and to the impression cylinder (5) and, on the other hand, with the interposition of a differential (9) controlled by a speed adjusting member (11), to a secondary transmission (10) coupled, by constant-ratio engagement means, to the printing form (4) of each printing unit.
  2. Machine according to Claim 1, characterized in that the engagement means are constituted by universal transmissions.
  3. Machine according to Claim 1, characterized in that the speed adjusting member (11) controlling the differential (9) is constituted by a speed variator.
  4. Machine according to Claim 3, characterized in that the speed variator is a mechanical variator.
  5. Machine according to Claim 1, characterized in that the speed adjusting member controlling the differential (9) is constituted by a correction motor, whose speed is regulated as a function of the speed of the machine.
  6. Machine according to any one of the preceding Claims, characterized in that a clutch (8) is interposed in the transmission gear train between the principal transmission (7) and the impression cylinder (5).
